skin spots types

Since going abroad without sunscreen they have developed into freckles that remain dark throughout the year. I was just wondering if anybody knew how the two types differ (apart from in the way I just mentioned) and if they have different names. i.e. are they situated in different levels of the dermis or... Thanks.

I have this crazy itch on my legs and only legs. It mainly happens at night. I have now learned to rub them instead of scratch after ripping many pairs of jeans from doing so. I know that I am allergic to some detergents but been using one that doesn't bother me. I never had this problem before. It starting happening, the longest I'd say a year ago. At first I thought maybe it was where I had moved to, but why would whatever it could be in the house only affect my legs.

Once this cleared up, I decided to take really good care of my skin, and invested in some recommened cleanser for spotty skin - this actually made my skin sting, and so I switched to a milder cleanser, but after having a few spots appear now and then, a month later the infection came back. At this point, I just used the leftover cream from before. A while later, I was having a doctors checkup and decided to mention it.

as a 60 plus can i do anything to prevent these 'spots' a started getting a few years ago. annually the doc just freezes them off.

t help you know what you have only a dermatologist can. The spots might be Fordyce spots, you could have a yeast skin infection, tinea versicolor or molluscum contagiosum.

Thank you for your help. The spots don't itch and my skin isn't red. When I went on holiday to a hot place almost all my sts were gone. I am not dismissing you, i just want to make sure. Also, my GP said it's ezchema and I have used many types of cream but none of them seems to make it go away. Thank You for your help.

Yes it exists. No it is not normally done for pigmented spots that are not malignant. These spots are common in brown skin and black individuals. The cost is not covered if the reason is cosmetic. More can form and it can come back.
