Skin sore on buttocks

Common Questions and Answers about Skin sore on buttocks

sore

The skin on the buttocks ( and thighs ) is too thick for the virus to penetrate to the skin to shed from without an obvious lesion present. Also ob's on the buttocks take longer to heal the skin than ob's on the softer genital mucosa. after about a week ( if you treated the ob ), odds are you aren't shedding from that area any more but it'll take a few more weeks to heal enough so that the skin will return back to normal.
It may be possible that you have been developing yeast infection in between your buttocks. Yeast infection is common in the skin folds. It is common in people with frequent UTIs and diabetes mellitus. Contact dermatitis is another possibility. In psoriasis the skin appears red, moist and shiny. There is itching and it may split and crack. If this sensitive area is irritated by scratching, it can become infected. Try to avoid scratching it.
I have recently had an outbreak on my buttocks area. The sore is still there but is scabbing over a little bit. Is the sore still contagious to other people if they just touch with their hands... I have read that once it starts scabbing over I am ok but reading things on the internet contradicts it's self so much I need to know the real answer to how contagious and how can herpes be contracted.
It does not hurt or itch and the skin under the sore is hard and larger than the visible sore. Recently two more sores developed in the same area between my butt cheeks. Recently they must have been rubbing against my pants and started to bleed. They are the size of a dime and are all developing close to my butt crack. I have been with my girlfriend for over a year and half now.

Rockoff, About a week and 1/2 ago I devloped a rash somewhat uniformly on both sides of my buttocks. The rash eventually was concentrated on the bottom of each cheek and in the folds (where my butt meets the top part of my leg). It is not in my anus. I am not an obese person but I am husky and tend to sweat alot this time of year. I think the rash came about when I was wearing jeans and boxer briefs.
They do not appear to be the classic type of herpes blisters, that you see in pictures on the internet - they are not clear fluid filled or appear on clusters. The pimples have now been on my buttocks for over 3 weeks. Out of pure confusion, I went and got tested for all types of std's (including type specific herpeselect).
Dear Doctor, I'm a 26 year old male, and my question is about my 23 year old fiance. About 2 months ago, she developed a small cluster of fluid filled bumps on reddened skin on her left buttock (about 3 inches below her waistline). They appeared in one spot, and after a day or so, another smaller cluster appeared slightly below that one. There was no pain, but they were quite itchy.
I have recently noticed red bumps on my inner buttocks (only right side). I thought they were just bug bites until it began to spread along the right side on my inner buttocks. Then I noticed a similar rash on the bottom right side of my scrotum. After a couple days this all just kept spreading and getting more painful. It doesn't seem to be spreading fast, or even at all on my scrotum, but it is sore/painful and itchy.
I have a question for one of the STD Medical experts. My girlfriend complained to me that she had a sore on the fold of her buttocks. I inspected it and it appeared to have an ulcer like appearance, possibly resembling herpes characteristics. I then soaked the area for nearly 20 minutes with Chlorhexidine Solution. The next morning I re-examined the area and noticed a brown, mucus-like discharge that was originating from the sore.
I HAVE A PATCH OF SKIN ABOUT THE SIZE OF A NICKLE ON MY LEFT BUTTOCKS (UP HIGHER TOWARD MY BACK, THAN DOWN ON MY CHEEK) THAT IS ITCHY AND SCABBED OVER. IT DOES'NT ITCH CONSTANTLY, BUT WHEN IT DOES ITCH- IT REALLY ITCHES. WHAT COULD THIS BE?
I have recently noticed a rash between my buttocks. It is not sore or itchy. Does not burst or ooze. I have a desk job and sit down most of the day. There is nothing on or near my genitals. I have been to my ob/gyn and she said everything looked normal. I noticed it about 5 days ago. Was wondering what I can do to clear it up.
It's not sore, but it feels almost like the hairs down there are being pulled. The skin between my buttocks is red, but not painful to touch. I have HSV-1 and at first thought this was an outbreak so I took Valtrex twice a day for about a week but it didn't help. I don't think it's herpes anymore so I've started putting Kenacomb and Pawpaw Ointment on there instead. Is there anything else I can/should be doing?
I have been getting a rash on my right buttocks cheek, centrally located for about 20 years. It started when I was about 25. It starts out by about the size of a mosquito bite (and feels that way too) and is about .5-1cm deep in the skin to emerge to the surface of my skin. It grows to be about the size of a quarter. This takes about 24 hours. It has white puss just under the skin and itches terribly. It itches really bad for about the 1st 3 days. It also has redness.
Yes you can get a bacterial skin infection from direct skin on skin contact. Don't ever underestimate what bacteria can do!
When I stand up after sitting down, there are red patches on my buttocks, which fade after I remain standing for a while. I tested negative for all stds, including herpes (via herpeselect) at 6 weeks. The persistence of this sensation leads me to believe it is either some kind of fungus, yeast or bacterial skin infection. My urologist suggested it was a fungal infection; he prescribed me Nystatin, and then after three weeks Clotraminozole, which I have been using for a few weeks.
I have been wheelchair bound now for 2 years and either sit or lie in bed nearly 100% of the time. The skin on my buttocks burns like fire and I am now having extreme difficulty sleeping due to this even when taking prescribed sleeping pills. This is getting very bad. Any ideas of sprays or salves to apply to desensatize the area so that I can finally get rest at night? Thanks for any ideas.
I just realized I have several open wounds on buttocks due to skin condition. Possible hiv positive person used toliet seat immediately before me. Didn't look for blood. Any risk?
Does this now sound like herpes. Would there only be the one sore on the bum or more. Why would the sore be on the bum if it was vaginal sex, i will go gum clinic monday but am quite worried again.
Hi! A rash on the buttocks can become sore due to constant pressure on it while sitting. The rash could be due to sweat dermatitis, pressure urticaria, dermatitis, fungal infection, eczema, psoriasis and very dry skin. It is difficult to diagnose the cause on net. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Meanwhile, keep the area dry and wear loose clothes. Avoid sitting in one place for too long or use a padded seat if you have to sit for long. Take care!
Moisture from sweat or diarrhea may cause itching. If the anal skin stays wet, the skin begins to break down. Some foods irritate the anus when they are expelled during a bowel movement. The most common culprits are caffeine, chocolate, beer, nuts, dairy products, and spicy food. Infections such as pinworms, yeast, and genital warts can cause itching. Hemorrhoids, which cause painful swelling of blood vessels in the anal area, can cause itching.

I have had herpes before, but with this pain I don't get any rash or blisters, just such sore skin. I also can't sit on the toilet especially if its cold. It sounds like if you are run down or stressed the pain comes. Not sure what to do about it though.
I started with severe shakes so bad and fevers and a pain in my lower right abdomen so I went to the doctor and he noticed a huge red rash on right buttocks. He sent me to the hospital immediately and I was on IV antibiotics and kept over night. That was on May 5th. I was on IV for a week and oral antibiotics for 10 days. I then got it back on June 9th, July 14, August 11th and August 18th.
For the last three months he has had reoccurring, sore red and inflamed bumps in different spots on his body. The first time it was a bump on his hand, which then became swollen. Next, it showed up in his eyes, leaving his eyes closed with crust. Now he has three small bumps that are painful on his buttocks, he can not sit down. He has been to Urgent Care 3 different times. The doctor first say it was a spider bite, next it was a bacterial infection and was given antibiotics.
i did ot see a sore on her i looked aroun can a sore be on the inside of vagina a condom was used properly. is it posssible to have more than one expert respond? Vance , waiting patiently. Shoud i go to the clinic right now?
Too much sitting is hard on the back and on the skin so it is possible that is the cause of the skin breaking. But I think scratching it probably caused it and also the moisture. After you clear the infection up use baby powder to keep the area dry. Try not to get it in the genital area as that is bad for you just on the backside. Hope this helps. If it gets worse go see a doctor. At this point I think the antibiotic ointment will help.
