Common Questions and Answers about Skin rash looks like burn

rash

In the beginning it was just burnt crusty dead skin that was stuck to the skin and took forever to get all the dead skin off like 3 months. Then I was trying to grow new skin but it kept coming off cause I had it too moist with vaseline and vitamin e oil. It was all red and sore. My husband finally told me to leave it alone and let it crust to grow new skin. I did that and left it be for 7 weeks without that stuff. Then I noticed lots of flaking and crusting off of the sore.
It's all red and irritated and there are a couple patches between my cheeks that look like permanent scars or something. Literally, the surface of these sores look like scar tissue after a burn. But they don't feel like they burn. I have noticed that they become pretty moist...even after i shower and dry myself about ten minutes later the rash/burns/scars are moist again...with a very light odour. It sometimes itches but very rarely, and it doesn't hurt to pee or anything.
My son has a rash that looks like a sunburn on his forearm and thigh. It does not itch but hurts like a sunburn. Looks as if he has been burn but he has not. It has even a perfectely straight line on part of it as if it had been covered from the sun. I have worked in the medical field for 20 years and have not seen anything like it. No blisters or spots of any kind.
Im a 23 year old female, and about once a eyar in the last 10 to 15 years, I get skin irritation in my armpit area. It looks like a rash, but it's not at all itchy. It feels more like a burn. (yes, I have been burnt before so I know what it feels like). I tried using cortasone cream, but that doesnt work at all. It usually stays the same and keeps burning. I have been using Penatin Cream, which is a cream for baby's bums when they get diaper rash.

Hi and welcome, looks like it might have started out as a razor burn and you have picked at it while sleeping.
The area is cool, and does not smell. It is a little sticky around the edges, and looks like a burn. It grew from 1x1cm to almost 3x3cm in 1 week. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi I get this rash on my hands and on my back, the best way I can describe it is it looks like sun burn on the palms of my hands and across my shoulders and down the center of my back. It is painless but there is numbness in the area where the rash is....It is going on for months now and comes and goes. Anyone experience this?
Well you see, I woke up one morning and i realized that I have a weird type of rash or burn on the inner of my left elbow. It looks like a small strip that looks red. I don't remember hurting myself or anything. It hurts when anything touches it. So the next day i woke up and it wasn't there. It was on my other arm in the same exact place. It looks the same and it still hurts when something touches it. So I have two questions for you. 1. What is this? and 2. How do I treat it?
Lichen planus is an inflammatory disease that affects the skin and the oral mucosa, and presents itself in the form of lesions or rashes. The typical rash of lichen planus is well-described by the "5 P's": well-defined pruritic(itches), planar, purple, polygonal papules. The commonly affected sites are near the wrist and the ankle. The rash tends to heal with prominent blue-black or brownish discoloration that persists for a long time.

Hello All, Just started triple tx last Friday and now have a wicked rash that feels and looks like a sun burn. Sunday (two days after the first doses) it started on my neck and is now covering my chest, back, arms, upper thighs and is staring between my fingers. Contacted the Dr and he was a bit disturbed - said it was really early in treatment to experience a rash and it may be an allergic reaction to the invinek (sp).
Hello, It looks like contact dermatitis or dermatitis skin. Wash the areas with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton clothes. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.
You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream or calamine lotion should help. If the symptoms persist then a biopsy skin can be done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

My son is 10 and he woke up this morning with a quarter size red rash, that looks like a really bad burn , with little bubbles of fluid around the edges of the circle on his top side of his arm on his wrist. He said at first it was a little itchy. But now, he says it doesn't hurt, doesn't itch, and there is tighten of the skin around the rash. The Circle rash looks like he's been burn with a quarter that had been laid out in the sun for a very long time.
This helped, but it never went away completely. Then I begin to have a new kind of rash where my skin would turn pink and burn and be uncomfortable. This spread to my testicles and inner legs. I stopped using the clotrimazole and experimented (maybe unwise) with some other topical treatments (as well as practicing extreme cleanliness). My savior appeared to be a Lamisil AT cream.
It started burning me like crazy so I immediately wipped it off. By this time it seemed like the diflucan wasnt working. Thursday morning I called my dr and told her that I thought I was having an allergic reaction to something down there and she called me into her office. Now everytime I applied any cream at home I wipped off the area with a towel. I never wipped hard just enough to cool me off. Everytime I wipped it felt so much better.

It doesnt look like a rash or anything and it doesnt itch or really burn. What can i put on it to make it go away. Also, this might sound like a weird question but is there any risk for anything from sharing earphone ear pieces. Today at work some young guy approached me with some music that he was selling and he has all the cds he was selling downloaded in his ipod so that you can sample it before you buy it.
It almost looks like a really bad sun burn. They happen at different times of the day. Usually in the early evening to late at night. I've even woken up in the middle of the night with it. It burns also. They don't happen very often during the day. Sometimes it can be more localized and sometimes like the one I just had it was pretty much head to toe. Depending on whether is localized or head to toe dictates how bad the burning sensation is. The more surface the rash covers the more it burns.
What does it mean when a skin rash continues to spread and the rash does not itch or burn to touch? It feels bumpy and it started at the baby's ankle and it has spread all the way to lower thigh. The pediatrician does not know what it is and just gave my daughter some cortizone ointment and treated it as if were some kind of allergic reaction. Who should my daughter go to and what could it be. The baby was not stung and is only 5mo and barely started crawling on the floor.
However, recently she has developed what looks like a rash on the back of her hands. It does not itch/burn or hurt and causes no discomfort. The best way to describe it is as a what looks and feels like a burn. Its red and you can feel it, so its not under her skin. I have been told this may just be a symptom of diabetes, can anyone tell me if it is possible that it is something else?
I find that this happens to me more in summer and sometimes in exposed areas like neck arms, also very often i will feel an insect like sharp burn or bite and i fing there are small little lines on itching become hives. This itching also extends to my genital areas. I do have dry skin and i do not use soap and use lotion every day, i sometimes have anti-allergic tab if the itching is bad and i make sure i try and wear cotton close to my skin.
I'd like to hear from anyone about the dryness of the skin. My skin looks 20 years older if not more. I'm thinking of soaking in baby oil. Of course I am drinking A LOT of water. Just curious as to what others may be doing. Especially, women.
