Skin rash early pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Skin rash early pregnancy

skin

I surely would consult a doctor, but I am waiting for AF to show up this weekend as it will be easier to diagnose after knowing that it has nothing to do with pregnancy. And also I have been told by the doctor to take early HPT to determine pregnancy as early as possible. I have had a chemical pregnancy which doctor suspects was due to low progesterone as my BBT is always in the lower range than normal with a cycle of 25-26 days.
hi, just curious if dry skin can be a sign of early pregnancy? i no im silly but if i get a small pain or tiny rash i think it could be my month! though for the past 2days i have had a small rash on my chest goin to my armpit that is very dry feeling, think it is something that didnt agree with me but u never no! anyone had patches of red dry skin on them?
I had a rash very early in this pregnancy...it cleared up after my first trimester...not sure what it was..but it went away and everything's fine now.
Hi Skin rashes that occur during pregnancy can be non-specific (such as due to allergies, medicines, insect bites, skin infections, viral infections, parasites, tumours) or rashes specific to pregnancy called as specific dermatoses (skin disorders) of pregnancy. The various examples of pregnancy rashes are PUPPP - (pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy), papular dermatitis of pregnancy, prurigo gestationis, herpes gestationis and rarely impetigo herpetiformis.
Hey guys another question for you! Anyone else experienced itchy skin in pregnancy? Im 18 weeks and its driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wondering if you received an answer from the doc about the rash, was it cholestasis of liver or something else? Did your doc mention if there is a safe topical for rashes/or just general itching during pregnancy?
Can someone tell me what either menopause (if it is early menopause as my mother and her mother had menopause early on) or if you can tell me if after-pregnancy hormone imbalances can cause these problems? I have had extensive blood work done, and although I get worse all the time, there was nothing indicating problems in my blood work.
I found a red/tender rash under my boob. anybody else get a rash in the 3rd trimester? .....what does labor feel like in the beginning? This is my first pregnancy so I really dont know what to expect. I thought I should expect pain automatically but I have a high pain tolerance and the pain I've felt isnt bad. So far I'm feeling lightning, fatigue nausea cramping from my back into my vagina pressure from my baby pushing down and hot flashes.. am I going into labor or just dilating more?
Oh yes, the wonderful world of hormones!!! I had that early in 2 pregnancies, and used Aveno Oatmeal moisturizer, that did the trick for me. However, it is best to talk to your Dr. before using anything on it. Good luck to you!!!
Even more rare than PUPPP is a skin condition called prurigo of pregnancy (or papular eruptions of pregnancy), which is characterized by many tiny bumps that may look like bug bites. These eruptions can occur anywhere on your body, but you're most likely to get them on your hands, feet, arms, and legs. Although the eruptions can be itchy and annoying, prurigo of pregnancy appears to pose no risk to your baby.
Types of Pregnancy Rashes Pregnancy rashes can be anything from prickly heat or friction rash to dark patches on the skin that do not itch or large red or white blisters. 1. Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy Called ICP for short, this rash is associated with liver bile and can be dangerous to both the mother and the fetus. This rash is invisible, yet the itching is intense. This rash is caused by liver bile backup forcing deposits beneath the skin.
I had it both of my pregnancies. The first pregnancy it was misdiagnosed as PUPPP. Waiting for the test results suck but it will show how risky it is for you. This pregnancy they were only slightly elevated and I delivered at 39 weeks. Best thing to do to help the itching is ice packs.
Rose and Martika - Well, I've had the random twice a year type migraine before, and occassional tension headaches like everyone, but this pregnancy first differed the most from my last one in that 1. I was beyond exhausted and 2. I was getting a lot of bad headaches that felt like severe tension headaches, sometimes crossing over into migraine intensity and sensation... But then, my whole world turned upside down...
Hi there....I used to post here a lot after two early miscarriages. I'm now 34 1/2 weeks and things have been going fairly well (other than having contractions and pre-term labor that we stopped two weeks ago) Now, I have a little rash on my belly....little red pin-pricks....it itches some, but not uncontrollably. I called my doctor's office and the nurse said it was fairly common and possibly something called PUPPP, but I just wondered if anyone else had had this?
Her test results plus your own final result (after your WB test) will dictate what sorts of personal contact are OK as the delivery date approaches. If the pregnancy is still early, i.e. before 5 months, it would be OK to wait for your WB test before telling your wife or the Ob. If she's in the last 3-4 months of pregnancy, however, you shouldn't wait.
I've had midwifes ask if I'm pregnant because they say it looks like the rash you get in pregnancy, but it nearly disappeared during my two pregnancies. I've also had two separate people approach me in the street and ask if I have Lupus! So I looked up lupus and the photos of the lupus rash looked a lot redder and angrier.
I also had my blood drawn, because my doctor said that there is a skin rash that is found under the arm ( pit), and the rash is associated with diabetes. My blood work came back, and I am NOT diabetic, so the limits what the rash is even more. It is red and really soft, almost like velvet. It has turned almost a brownish color, but still has not gone completely away. I hope me response helps you find out more about the underarm rash that you have.
Shortly after, I could feel a change in the texture of my skin and then found a small looking rash on my torso. Then it slowly covered my whole body in the matter of a month and a half. My dr. thought that I was having a allergic reaction to laundry soap. It turned out to me that I am allergic to a dye that they put in the diffent dosage. So as of two days ago, I have all together changed meds to Synthroid and now taking two pills that are .
I do know how horrible an itchy rash feels though, during my pregnancies, I get this thing called Cholestasis, caused by elevated biliruben.....I guess the bile causes the itching. I was SO miserable, I had the pregnancy induced 4 weeks early, so I totally understand you stopping five days early. I'm not sure if you have tried heavy duty pain medication, or if that could be an option.
When cold air/water/etc touches the skin, the blood vessels in the skin constrict, reducing oxygen in the skin. In reaction to the low oxygen, the body produces a chemical reaction to produce an inflammatory agent into the area. The inflammation reaction causes bumps similiar to goose bumps to occur and a vasodilation of the blood vessels bring more blood and oxygen into the area. The skin looks red and bumpy and may feel warm to the touch.
In fact, I remember the first time I felt it was while I was still on vacation, and it was just a few days after I found that I had a ringworm rash (has nothing to do with worms - fungus on the skin). Anyway I treated that for well over 2 weeks until the rash/red spot was not visible for a few days. But ever since I had that damn thing I have felt that crawling sensation. No numbness, just spider crawling. I'm 30 - so for all I know I'm not pre-menopausal.
Hormones dont trigger hives. In the third trimester of pregnancy its possible to get rashes that are very uncomfortable but that is because the skin in stretching so much. I haven't even heard of pregnancy causing it before then though.
hello...its been a bit of relief to read all your comments here.im in my 28 weeks of pregnancy & having this itchy patchy rashes in my thighs now made u my mind i have hives too...its too itchy, sometimes its so unbearable.i applied caladryl on it & my doctor said its okay but sometimes i feel so desperate just by looking at it...i tried starch bath also & it eases itchiness a bit bt no other solutions really help.
I am breastfeeding at night and early in the morning. I threw up throughout my pregnancy 10 times a day -- my doctor said it was hormones related to the skin. But I want to use something besides hopefully steriods to cure this problem or will it not clear up until I completely stop breastfeeding? I don't want to give up breastfeeding completely but since my daughter is almost 4 months old at this point I would rather do that than have this itchiness constantly because my milk supply is low.
I had the same thing JOy explained with my last pregnancy (in addition to skin tags), I notice it lightening up when my son was about 3 weeks old. He is 6 weeks now and my underarms are basically back to normal.
Hi there, I have had symptoms since last June (07) that I have had all infectious conditions ruled out. I am now looking at biopsy of the vulvar skin to uncover some answers, so I wanted to post here to see if any other women have gone to a dermatologist and had results. I have posted on the women's health forums here, but since i have ruled out std's, fungus, bacteris, yeast, hormone levels, strep-B, etc etc, this is clearly a skin issue.
