Common Questions and Answers about Skin rash descriptions

rash

But as best I can reckon, my riba rash is mostly a dry, coarse skin texture, with a reddish hue to it (some blotchiness on my ankles, hands and lower legs). The skin has lost much of its elasticity so that in addition to being dry it also seems saggier and "wrinklier" (also due to weight loss). In the beginning there were these little pin point raised bumps, but now those are mostly replaced with larger size (like quarter sized) scaley bumps.
In June I met this guy I was the top (safe) and did everything else. Two weeks later I break out in a rash, back chest upper arms and face. From photos on the net and from my Dr. Diagnosis, it's folliculitis. I didn't ask to be tested for HIV, because I've been scared to know. However it's been 3 months and I'm still breaking out in what is not acne. Your thoughts on whether I've contracted something from my descriptions.
Hello, I am currently suffering from an unknown skin rash/condition primarily on the front of my neck (collar area). It is difficult to describe completely and is subtle enough that I have ignored it for several years. It began as a small isolated patch of redness. The skin has become bumpy or even could be described as scaly. No lesions, scabs, or significant discoloration occurs but at various points in the day it will become bright red and be irritated.
I have read much information on perioral dermatitus and I believe that is what I have, although I seem to have a very mild case compared to some of the descriptions and pictures. I am a 29 year old female and have had this rash occur(mainly on my chin) four times in the past three years. It starts as tiny white bumps that are filled with puss that itch and burn and eventually (two or three days later) begin to peel and then vanishes within a week.
The rash has been present for quite sometime, so this may be something chronic. Chronic skin conditions may suggest a fungal infection and dermatitis. Other possible differential is a sweat rash or miliaria. Sweat rash may also be itchy and they may occur over areas of the body wherein heat or seat may be usually present. Prevent too much sweating and changing to dry clothes often may help alleviate the rash and the itchiness.
Skin problems are one of the more common issues with conventional combo treatment. Really think it's too soon to jump to conclusions that the one or two rashes reported are do to VX-950 as opposed to ribavirin or the Peg. We'll know soon enough for sure as the trial data gets analyzed.
The symptoms are most like descriptions of prickly heat however I can spend days out in the hot sun without developing any rash as long as my skin is covered. The rash has never appeared from heat alone. Any help would be appreciated.
ok thanks. And the rash? If it even is a rash? Which prompted the question. Does it mimic that of an ars rash? Or condition?
Transmission of herpes may also occur through skin-to-skin contact during periods of asymptomatic shedding. The only way of ruling it out is by getting yourself tested for genital herpes. Laboratory tests include: culture of the virus, direct fluorescent antibody (DFA) studies to detect virus, skin biopsy, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to test for presence of viral DNA. I sincerely advise you to consult a dermatologist and get it ruled out. Hope it helps.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I've had an rash-like condition on my scrotum skin for several years now.
about 10 days ago i developed a red rash in the fold between my scrotum and left upper thigh. I assumed it was jock itch b/c it was very hot out and i had been wearing tight underwear. I used anti-fungal creams but it has not healed and has instead spread as the same type of rash on my right side groin and then as small/medium sized red bumps down my upper thigh under to my buttocks, up to my pubic area and are now on my penis. The latest I see is that the bumps are approaching my waistline.
Thank you for reading and answering this post. Exactly 1 month ago, I had unsave insertive oral sex with a prostitute for over 20 minuts. Since 1 week, I am having lasting sore throat and a "light" and non pruritic skin rash on back, breast and arms. No fever, no diarrhea, no fatigue, no vomits, nothing strange on mouth or genitals and no other symptoms, except may be for swollen lymph nodes (how to check them?). Syphilis, gonorrhea and Hepatitis tests are negative.
for the past 4 months on and off i get red bumps all over my skin the most being 15-20 bumps at a time all over my backside chest and legs and arms they are not contagious and i have not switched soaps they itch alot and they leave my skin with scars
I put one of those perfume samples on my face, the ones you get from the magazines, and it caused my face to break out in this terrible raw rash. I know it wasn't the smartest thing to do and I have suffered for the next 25 years cause of it. The rash on my face did eventually go away, except for around my nose. It's red with tinny little pin head like bumps which sometimes has white stuff in them like a pimple. Or the skin is just red and raw looking and constantly flakes.
I had PUPPS, and in rare cases it can occur earlier than your 3rd trimester. I'm not quite sure of the pictures and locations of your rash though. I had it on my belly, below the belly button line, and then only on my wrists/hands and ankles/feet. I had nothing on my back or my arms. I'd definitely get seen though!! Whatever it is, it needs to be addressed.
It turned red and the skin was raised. A week later, the same spot, while there were no changes in size or shape, was still itchy and slightly raised, but has now turned a mute shade of purple. I thought it might be my deodorant but I have been using the same one for months and I've had no problems. Also it's only on one side -- my right underarm. It's extremely itchy and I have to fight every desire to scratch because it just seems to make it worse.
It fits all the descriptions of a heat rash but it has been a week now and they are not on the neck, in the groin, under the breasts, or in elbow creases. Just on my arms and legs! I have tried hydrocortizone but as suspected, it was too moist for the area and made the rash feel worse. I am staying away from the New York City sun, no longer jogging at high noon but there is still no sign of improvement. I just got laid off and I am without medical insurance (can't afford Cobra).
After a few days I pinched it and a whiteish liquid came out of it, in the next few days i developed a red rash between my leg and my right testicle and another of those pimps appeared, this time next to my testicle, as shown in the attached pictures. http://imgur.com/A32Hd.jpg <- Pimple like formation http://imgur.com/HYUOv.jpg <- Red Rash Could this be Herpes or any kind of STD, or is it only a Skin reaction? In both cases, which treatment do you recommend?

It was really bad for a while where it would feel kinda hard and peel/flake off all the time. This isn't exactly a great picture, but: http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/4224/dryskin7cd.jpg. I tracked down my body wash as a cause and I figured very hot showers didn't help any either.
For a few years now I've had red/purplish bumps/rash like appearance on the backs of my thighs. Every once in a while I get an even bigger bump that appears to be like a pimple that is sore..otherwise there are always red bumps..somewhat flat..maybe scarred. I do get pimples on my butt occasionally but the constant rash on my thighs seem different. I can't remember my thighs ever really itching from it either.
The description of your rash doesnt' sound like an STD. The secondary stage of syphilis causes a skin rash, but yours doesn't sound at all like that. There is no particular reason to be skeptical about your past HPV diagnosis. Almost everybody gets it eventually, and HPV often is acquired from one's first sex partner; and condoms aren't as effective in preventing HPV as other STDs. In any case, there is no connection between your past HPV and your current skin rash.
I am trying to figure out what we all have in common other than this skin tenderness. There is no outward signs that anything is wrong...no rash, no ANYTHING.
I don't think it is shingles since that has a very clear skin rash that shows up with it. I have though recently been bitten by a spider. The spider bite was on my left arm, not painful, only a little sensitive to the touch. The bite was a bump with a smaller bum next to it, I assume this was one fang got more venom in me than the other. Also it is now colder weather and we have had rain that had brought more spiders than usual in the house.

I have extremely sensetive skin myself and had to resort to baby lotion and shampoos to keep me from overdrying my skin. Many lotions make the skin oily rather than truly moisturize. Cetaphil is a good lotion, but I use Aveeno baby lotion. It seems to do the trick. What soaps do you use? Dial AB or Dove, ?? ?
Three days ago I started feeling like whatever this was is now in my skin (I'm certain of it), It's under the skin on my face, my scalp, my back, my toes, and my feet. I can feel it crawling in and out of my anus at times also. Went to the dermatoligist today and of couse he says it's my imagination, some people get it. He's subscribed me some DEXEPIN for depression. :( Funny thing is I'm not depressed, my life was quite good until this bug showed up.
Wonko, you're the only Lymie I've heard of who gets the lupus-like skin rash (other than me). But can't Lyme also lead into/become other disease conditions eventually like MS, ALS, and lupus etc.? JackieC. I would like to discontinue D supplementation (my only other med is Synthroid and, more recently, nighttime oxygen). However, they've scared me about the lack of D leading to some kind of cancer!! I mean, I could get rid of Lyme and end up with cancer.
