I see you've put this in the Skin Cancer forum, is that because you really think you got skin cancer on a trail run, or just because there is no "nettles" forum or "poison ivy" forum or "mystery rash from plants" forum? That would be my first guess. It could also be that someone was spraying weeds, and your skin got a nice dose of 2-4-D. Take a good shower with decent soap, and see if things don't calm down by tomorrow.

I had thought for the moment the itchiness was due to peeling dry skin or heat rash, but by morning when my heat rash had mostly cleared the rough spot had raised bumps. Those bumps are now blisters. They are grouped together (not clustered, just separate blisters close together) and are painful and itchy. They do not seem to be spreading. I was curious to know what this could be? Is it shingles? Or something else?

Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Other possible causes of blisters on the hand and feet are irritant or contact dermatitis, psoriasis etc.In psoriasis along with rash on the skin there may be changes in the fingernails or toenails of the affected hands and feet. In dyshidrotic eczema there are tiny itchy blisters along the sides of the fingers or feet which turn into red, scaling areas. These are only possibilities. An external examination is very important for accurate diagnosis. Seek the opinion of a dermatologist.

It usually affects children under 10 years of age and often starts with a feeling of being unwell for a day or so. Then there is fever and typical blisters like rash on hands, foot and inside mouth. As with other viral infections, antibiotics are not needed. Rest, plenty of fluids and acetaminophen if there is any fever is needed. I feel that you should consult a pediatrician and discuss it with him. Hope it helps.

I had blisters on the palm of my hands which have now gone but have left a itchey, flakey, rash. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. Typically, another outbreak can appear weeks or months after the first, but it almost always is less severe and shorter than the first outbreak.

I did develop an allergy early this year to the Degree brand deodorant i was using, and switched to Dove Sensitive Skin, which is fragrance free. That solved the allergy. this does not seem like that, but i do obviously have sensitive skin.
Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes the chicken pox. Blisters form on the skin, ooze and scab over. Shingles is very painful, and exposure to sunlight can make it worse. Treatment includes antiviral medications, antiinflammatory medication, and pain relievers.
