Common Questions and Answers about Skin nodules pictures

skin

Avatar m tn It is a benign granulomatous disease characterized by a ring composed of smooth, firm papules or nodules on the skin which gradually enlarges. It is a result of an immune-type reaction of the skin. Granuloma annulare is self-limiting with a course of about 2 years, treatment is not necessary except for cosmetic reasons. Treatment is generally topical steroid creams, followed by oral steroids and finally intradermal injections at the site of each ring.
Avatar f tn She said that I should go back to the dermatologist and have his investigate it. The skin really looks like all of the pictures of scleroderma. Does anyone know if scleroderma is detected any other way?
Avatar f tn Well 2nd Ct done today. I of course won't be told for two days the results. So I'm stressed out. My enlarged Lymph node has scared my breast Dr so badly she has me going to a hemotologist in two weeks So that should be right in line with whatever they found. In the second CT. With Collections of Nodules I'm quite scared. There are 5 axile pictures with collections of nodules in them 4 to 5 mm in the last CT scan. How to make it through the next 48 hours with no answers.
Avatar m tn s been frustrating over the last year to get anyone to really take me seriously about the severity of this but even I had no idea this infection was as deep as it was. The skin all around hollow hole is completely solidified now and it didn't even bleed! Again, it's really deep and it's somewhat sore and aches now and there is more infection around the base and sides of the hole and other areas on the chin.
Avatar m tn s standard procedure to measure both lobes of your thyroid, along with the isthmus, plus if there are any nodules, she would have measured those. Many of us have nodules on our thyroid gland and they're not anything to worry about; they're quite common with Hashimoto's and/or Graves Disease. It's possible the right side could have more nodules, it could be larger or there could be any number of reasons for her to take more photos of the right side.
Avatar f tn Most nodules are benign. Nodules are commonly caused by Hashimoto's. Dry hair is a sign of hypothyroidism, commonly caused by Hashi. Swollen glands are a sign of Hashi, as are rashes, hives, dry skin, IBS, GERD, heartburn, depression, joint pain, foot pain, leg pain, low vitamins (especially D and B12), brain fog, fatigue, weight gain. Sometimes, Hashi can cause hyper symptoms such as shaky hands, anxiety, diarrhea, rapid heart rate, etc...
Avatar f tn But these things underneath the surface of the matter are layers of hair like to the size of a rice grain (there mostly white sometimes brown) we dont know what they are but there are hundreds of them under all his skin. They vary in size some are small to where they look like a fiber to as huge as a rice grain. But it seems the top layer is the smaller to medium size and underneath those are the rice looking.
18809769 tn?1468264624 I have had a partial thyroidectomy due to nodules. I have more nodules. I had a biopsy about 5 years ago and it was ok. I have had a US and it showed more nodules. Now they want to do Nuclear Medicine test. I am tired of all the tests especially with a copay of $200. My symptoms are hair loss, brittle hair, partial loss of eyebrows, eyelashes broke off, extremely cold, nervousness, IBS worse, skin thinning. Lost hair on my arms too. Very dry skin and hoarseness.
Avatar f tn I was so excited to take professional pictures of my belly but yesterday for the first time I took one with my phone and oh my I have so many stretch marks!
Avatar n tn s skin. He has several (20 and counting) subcutaneous nodules on various parts of his body. They are mostly located on his forearms, over his ribs on his anterior chest wall, and on his ischial tuberosities on his buttocks. Most of them are subcentimeter, but one on his ischial prominence is 2.5 cm. He had an excisional biopsy of a couple that overlie his ribs, and they were determined to pathologically be consistent with ganglion cysts.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply! I am not too worried about it, but didn't really know if people usually get these small, "baby nodules", biopsied. I work at the hospital where I had all of my tests done and have tried to read the u/s pictures, but I am def not a radiologist: so didn't get much out of it, lol. I just feel like I am driving myself crazy because this is just one of too many medical issues I have (even though it is prob nothing), and I am 25...
1253246 tn?1332073310 I also have latent TB and tested positive on a skin test 6 yrs ago.Could this be the cause of these nodules or does it have to be active tb first?
Avatar m tn my doctor measured it it is 26 inches long just unfer the skin few nodules ...it doesnt hurt unless it is touched ...im not running a fever....my doctor has no clue she said she has never ran across anything like it ...is there anyone who might have any clue?
735676 tn?1257572226 Actually, they are the thyroid nodules. I saw the ultrasound pictures along with the report (I have a copy of it to take the the endo) and they are each measured on the screen. I can see my thyroid around the nodules. Some are light in color and some are really dark, but I don't know what that means per se. I'm not self-diagnosing myself, nor am I scared about what's next. I just wanted to get as much information as I could so I was informed when I saw the endo. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have a ring of hard nodules under the skin on the shaft of my penis, just below the head. These nodules began forming in 2003 - first there was one, then half a ring, and now a nearly complete ring (except it doesn't completely encircle the penis; the underside of the shaft is nodule-free). The nodules are small, hard, painless lumps, and the skin slides right over them.
Avatar f tn Thanks, Linda Waddell
Avatar n tn My doctor sent me for tests and I was told that I have 2 or 3 nodules on my thyroid. The doctor said several years ago not to be concerned with them because they were small in size. This year I asked about them again and she told me not to worry about them. My question now is since I'm still having pain and it's now affecting my ear should I inquire about them again? I also believe I'm in early stage menopause.
Avatar f tn Generally they do not require treatment. A similar condition causing nodules under the skin is Schwannomas. This is also genetically linked. Other than this they can be swollen lymph nodes or even cysts or lipomas. Sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, pseudorheumatoid disease, foreign body granulomas, leprosies, leishmaniasis (parasitic disease caused by bite of sand fly), lupus, hypothyroidism, diabetes, and deep fungal infections should also be looked into.
Avatar f tn Yesterday I had an ultrasound scan on my neck. The consultant said that I had nodules, but they were nothing to worry about. Anyone know what this means, and what the treatment is likely to be?
Avatar m tn Many people have thyroid nodules without knowing. Studies show that only 5% are cancerous. I would recommend that you consult with a endocrinogist for advice. Due to fact that my largest nodule is 3.7cm...that caused for concern to have a fna (fine needle biopsy) of the nodule. Although the results were benign...I was suggested to have removal of the thyroid due to the abnormal cells that were present on the ct scan report. Everyone has there own situation and no matter what..
Avatar f tn Hi all, So, in my research to discover alternatives to surgery for TT to rule out cancer, I've come across something called Thyroid Excisional Biopsy http://www.ucsfhealth.org/adult/adam/data/003901.html. This is a link to the UCSF thyroid clinic. What is this all about, do surgeons still do this, and if so why are people getting TT's or partials for cancer detection/outruling if such a thing like this exists, which can save the thyroid if the nodule(s) aren't malignant?
5389263 tn?1367258662 Is there any lump or growth felt under the skin? Cysts and nodules, both types of acne formations could result in hard painful bumps beneath the skin. Dermatofibromas contains scar tissue and feel like hard lumps in the skin. Immerse the hardened area in warm water that will help in softening the skin. This can be followed by a massage with oil or a cream. It is suggested to get it seen by a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn actually neither of lobes is enlarged
Avatar m tn Check out "lichen schlerosos" online in a medical dictionary that shows pictures, and see if you can find some pictures on dark skin, and read the description. Maybe that's what's going on. The other thing that it might be is vitiligo, but I've never heard that it hits the pubic area more (or sooner) than other places on the body.
Avatar n tn This is usually diagnosed in a patient with previous breast cancer presenting with skin discoloration or nodules overlying the area of previous surgery. Biopsy is needed to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn my husband has developed skin nodules on his throat, above his stoma, after he had radiation, chemo and eventually a total larangetomy. The 1st one was removed and it was cancerous, now he has 2 more and they seemed to attach to each other.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have thyroid nodules, according to an ultrasound done recently, 4 of them, all small. I started with swollen thyroid and nausea, then started taking iodine, as per a skin test that showed I had low iodine. It helped for a while, but symptoms came back. Blood work shows tsh w/reflex to ft4 at 1.41, t4 at 10.4, t3 free at 2.7, and t3 total at 94.
