Common Questions and Answers about Skin infection medicine

infection

Avatar m tn Skin conditions are tough. Doctors often forget to check for food allergies. This could be a gluten allergy. It could also be related to colitis, so if you have any intestinal symptoms, you need to get that checked out. Don't just let them give you an antiinflammatory cream to treat the symptom. Sometimes dermatologists are either lazy or clueless about food allergies and other causes of skin problems.

Avatar n tn Certain organisms that may otherwise normally colonize the body may turn opportunistic and cause infection. Minor cuts and irritation in the skin may encourage the spread of these organisms readily in the state of a suppressed immune system. Wound healing may also be affected.

689528 tn?1364135841 A Senior Blood Panel done on a dog could be very helpful to determine if there is something going on with the dog like Hypothyroid, Cushings, or other endocrine issue that can cause recurrent skin issues. If blood test found that the dog has low thyroid, the Rx medicine for low thyroid is inexpensive.

They prescribed me a medicine called flagyl & it's a small thick chalky pill that's leaves a nasty after taste behind it. I have to take it twice a day for 7 days & every time I take it it bothers me.

Avatar n tn Although your PAP smear were normal except one which was abnormal, hence it raises the chances of these bumps being due to genital warts. Warts are tumors or growths of the skin caused by infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV).They are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person. After initial infection, the virus may remain dormant and then become active again after a latent time.
Avatar f tn I recently got a bad yeast infection that I treated with OTC. The medicine worked and within seven days my symptoms were gone. But now I have noticed through self examination clusters of skin around the opening of my vagina on the walls. One side almost looks like when you get infected taste buds on your tongue. These were very red and inflammed during my yeast infection, but now they do not bother me at all and I only notice them through examination. I am concerned that it is something serious.
Avatar m tn Psoriasis is a long-term (chronic) skin problem that causes skin cells to grow too quickly, resulting in thick, white, silvery, or red patches of skin. Mycosis is fungal infection of the skin. Since the patch healed after biopsy and you are taking treatment, so it looks like a mycosis or fungal infection as psoriasis does not heal so quickly. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with a staph infection and took medicine for about a week to two weeks. On the last day of the medication I noticed some red dots again on my skin. This is very discouraging since the red dots were away and my private area was not irritated. I felt like a "normal" person. I hope my doctor knows why the medicine didn't work.

Avatar m tn Hello, Years ago I wnet to the doctor because the hair on the left side of my head was thinning. He said it was a fungal infection and prescribed some powder. I didn't use it consistantly enough and so it didn't end up being effective. It's been a few years and the infection seemed to to at least be halted. But now its coming back. I don't remember the name of the medicine the doctore prescribed, and I don't have insurance, so I can't aford a doctor visit at the moment.
Avatar n tn Mathis, red spots and scabs in dogs are usually due to a bacterial skin infection (less commonly skin mites, fungal infection or autoimmune disease), and oral antibiotics for 3-4 weeks are likely needed. Your veterinarian can do skin scrapings to evaluate for the presence of infection, +/- skin cultures or biopsies if bacteria are not seen, or if the infection does not respond to appropriate antibiotics.
Avatar n tn I am male, 44. Found diabetes before eight months. I am not taking any medicine. Once I visited a doc who precribed me a long list of medicines and again I declined to take the medicines. My count is about 240(fasting) and about 300 rendom. I am quite normal with my health. I heard that the medicine will create the health unbalance. In the case of dibetes, I think, doctors are acting like dealers and treating patients as clients.
