However, from your description, you might have a condition called vitiligo, a patchy loss of normal skin pigment that turns the skin lighter color. But that's only a guess. You need to see a health professional for proper evaluation -- either your primary care provider or a dermatologist. In the meantime, don't worry about STD. It's not an issue here.
I noticed he started getting blotchy spots on his face a week ago and now has 3. The spots are lighter then his skin tone. Do you think this may be something that he's lacking in his diet?
I am a 28 year old african american male and have recently noticed a discoloration in my genital area. The skin is white/pinkish in several spots. What could this be and do I need to worry about it?
Hello, When you say discoloration is it due to darkened skin or lightened skin? The differentials and treatment methods for both are different. So please describe the rash in detail. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hyperpigmentation occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and get the first two possibilities ruled out. If none of them are present then please get your ACTH levels estimated to rule out Addison’s disease.
Being called back for a spot compression mammogram is not that unusual, often times it's just breast skin that has folded over on itself appearing like a shadow which will disappear on spot compression. Hoping that your second mammogram will turn up just fine. Sending you my best wishes...
There is no explanation for the marks appearing. They are not on the surface of the skin, but under the skin. They do not cause itching or discomfort in any form. I aquired these spots before I became sexually active. I consulted my family doctor on the marks and she said they were not a result of a sexually transmitted disease (obviously) and that if they did not itch, burn, or cause discomfort then they are nothing to worry about.
None of this is new. I have had skin check ups before and no doctor has ever commented on the discoloration, a few ask about my circumcision build up, but all dismissed everything as benign. I wanted to get your thought on if it is worth doing anything about the stitch tunnels and what this area of discoloration is ... granted, its been this way as long as I can remember.
On top of this, the left side of my urethra, the meat is slightly swollen (not moist or blister like, looks like the rest of the head, same type of skin, dry, not sore), it's just a small soft swollen bump (i had this on the same swollen bump several years before, until i was circumsized, then the raised bump, which i was told then was an irritation due to my tight foreskin and the head being too moist and not washed properly) - back to the discoloration, it simply just looks darker, almost as

Hi, I have an 19 month old who just recently has some greyish, brown dark "bands" near the inner thigh. There are no visible borders and the skin to touch appears nornal. It almost looks like dye from a pair of pants but it is not. When born, I know there were Mongolian Spots on buttock and back since baby is 1/4 asian. I do not remember seeing these markings on iner thigh of both legs before a few weeks ago. It seems like it fades and darkens at times.

Also it has only happened one time and has never happened since but the tip of my penis kind of shed skin/became flaky but has gone away and has never happened since. I have been tested for STDs and all of the tests came back negative. I have seen an urologist and was prescribed an ointment nystatin and triamcinolone. It seems to work when I apply it but as soon as I stop the symptoms come back.
This condition is produced by the proliferation of the lipophilic yeast, Malassezia furfur which is part of the normal flora of human skin. It can occur at any age but is most commonly seen in young adults.

I guess I was around 18 when I first noticed a discoloration on the left side of my penis. The first time I noticed it I didn't think much of as it didn't hurt or spread. I've never had any discomfort urinating. The area in question is about a quarter inch long and an oblong shape. It is slightly raised. I'm now in my 30s and wondering what this is.
My five-year-old Bengal has just developed a light brown skin discoloration right in front of both ears; these patches also have a small amount of hair loss. This has appeared overnight. The areas aren't itchy or sensitive to touch. The only change in the environment has been that another cat was just put on Xanax and Prozac for anxiety, but the Bengal has not had any of this medication. I can't think of any new environmental factors. He is eating, drinking, and behaving normally.
I am know taking replacement Thyroid Hormone (Levoxyl). I have noticed that there is skin discoloration around my upper cheekbone area of my face where the skin is darker. My sister said that she had the same kind of discoloration when she was taking birth control pills. My theory is that there is some sort of reaction with the synthetic hormone(Levoxyl) and exposure to the Sun. I have worn sunblock, and the intensity of the discoloration has faded but is still present and very noticeable.
