skelaxin vs vicodin

Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!

I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.

t have had any kind of withdrawal going to Percocet from Vicodin. Whatever occured was unrelated. Percocet is stronger than Vicodin. Try not to over think this. It will be what it is...it won't be the worst thing you'll go through. Just not pleasant. It's truly like having the flu...

I recently found myself in a position where I have no Vs and am unable to obtain any. My doc had given my Adderol for depression and for focusing so I can work. I find that when I'm going through the w/d, the adderol helps with the cravings and other w/d effects, except the sleepless nights, crazy legs and no appetite. I was doing up to 20 Vs a day for chronic back and neck pain from ruptured discs. So many of us have this problem.

Skelaxin 3600 mg daily Gabapentin 1800 mg daily Vicodin (as needed) Maxsalt (as needed) The pain in my neck is constant/achy and worsens with left to right movement, and up and down movement. My headaches are daily and are manageable for about 90% of the time, the other 10% is debilitating and takes me out of work. Any help or recommendations are appreciated.

I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".

My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.

t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!

oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.

The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.

im on vicodin 500 4 x a day flexiril 2x a day and xanax to sleep. it ***** i cant get into ortho dr, till april but i guess he is a good dr, does yours flair up at night that when mine hurrts the worse. the thing that really helps is a hot bath. are you gona have surgery? i hope i dont but probaly will. im only 45 and that *****....

Anyone know anything about skelaxin? My doc just sent a script for that To my pharmacy in place of soma....

Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.

just waking up today bout 24 hours now so i am proud, i hope u guys r wrong lol i honestly feel better right now then i have in a few weeks (while on the vs even i felt worse then this) i just hope later this dont change? does evryone feel good in the morning usually? idk if i am tricking myself or what but i dont want vs idk y lol.

I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.

My young neighbor just had a baby by C-section (they cut large up and down vs. small and across). The doctors subsequently performed a spinal tap. She is experiencing severe headaches which I know is not unusual. However, she is experiencing leaking of spinal fluid into her system. The doctors then performed a blood patch, which was unsuccessful, and which created another hole in her back. This poor young girl is flat on her back, in pain, with a baby to take care of.
