As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
Like most I have always had general back pain I had several surgeries a few years ago where I was in the hospital 2 weeks with gallstones that dissolved and part of the sludge entered my pancreas that ate a hole through it causing 10 litters of fluid to build up behind my lungs. They basically cut me sternum to spine that & used a rib splitter. it causes pain under my breast still. Then last year was in a car accident that caused bulging discs to hit nerves in my lumbar and cervical.
I HAVE ORDERED MY ALINIA, SKELAXIN AND REQUIP FROM CANADA. YOU DO HAVE TO HAVE A VALID SCRIPT. ON MY REQUIP AND SKELAXIN I JUST CAREFULLY PEELED LABELS AND COPIED THEM AND FAXED IN. I USE PROGRESSIVE RX. JUST GO TO THEIR WEBSITE. FROM WHAT I RESEARCHED THIS ONE IS CHEAPEST, SEEMS TO BE ON THE UP AND UP.

First let me tell you that I'm sorry for the discomfort. The meds you have are not meds that can help you type of pain. You need a stronger Muscle Relaxer like Flexeril or Soma. These will work much better than Skelaxin which in my opinion is the "Baby" of the Muscle relaxer meds. It is wise to stay on an anit-inflammatory like Motrin but you might want to try 800mg Ibuphropen (sp) Also.
Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Same thing with having a muscle relaxer to take as needed. Flexeril, Skelaxin, Robaxin, Baclofen, or Zanaflex. This is very useful for those times with bad muscle spasms...
Again...an opiate does not target spasms. An opiate just makes our brain not "care" as much. And sure, it can be a small part of one's treatment...but it should never be the main part.
The Ra Dr told me at that time all the pin points seemed to be very tender. She told me the only thing that I could do is to take ibprofen or ibprofen like medication. SInce then I have tried gabapentin but that gave me tremors so I went back to ibprofen then I went to lyrica and that worked and then I recieved a letter from my insurence that they would no longer be paying for the medication. I tried to contest it but they said no.
I have been seriously involved with my girlfriend for quite some time now. In the past, she took 3 or 4 350mg Soma per day for back pain. Recently, she ran out of Soma and immediately began showing hallmark signs of withdrawal from Soma. (I checked them out on several websites and she was a TEXTBOOK case of this...
I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know.
I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Hi and welcome back. I can't take Valium or soma because they tend to knock me out but I would recommend the soma for the muscle spasms as it will work better for the spasms than the the Valium.
Both of these medications will cause drowsiness so be careful when driving or anything that requires you to be very alert.
I have had good luck in the past with a muscle relaxer by the name of Soma (caristoprodol) (spelling). Also valium is great for the spasms too.
My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.

I started taking 1 of each pill together, then after I quit the 2nd time it was only 1/2 a vic es. with a soma about every 2 hrs (or sooner depending.) My mom and brother are both addicted taking 2-3 of each at a time and are on the fet. patches, butatial as well. I feel so along... I got married in Aug and my hubby (who wont even take asprin) has NO idea. This is part of the reason.. I want a family and kids and dont want to feel like im always hiding something.
