Skelaxin headache

Common Questions and Answers about Skelaxin headache

skelaxin

Avatar m tn I have had a headache for now 31 days in a row without any real relief. It started out (I think) with a stiff neck- Couldn't touch chin to chest) and the same day I started with a headache. They almost follow a pattern everyday, I wake up with it, it gets better after I'm up for awhile and almost gone into afternoon, but around 4 pm comes back and keeps going for the rest of the night (almost worse when I lay down).
Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Your headache description can fit into 'cervicogenic headache' (vertebral column and structures thereto causing headache), especially since your neck and upper back hurt. See if some particular position of head and neck while lying down helps. Try to remember how the pain started. Or what do you think is the cause of the headache, neck and back pain. A neuro will be able to find out if your neck is causing the problem.
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar f tn I am not sure if a food allergy has been triggering this non-stop headache. I have began keeping a headache journal documenting exactly what time I wake and go to sleep, what I eat and when, and also what type of physical activity I do. I plan on seeing a different specialist in my home state at the end of this month. Does anyone have any answers for me? Or know of anything that I should bring up to my doctor? I am desperate.
Avatar f tn There are other primary headache disorders that can cause unilateral pain other than migraine. One is a primary stabbing headache. This headache often occurs in people with migraine. The pain itself generally lasts a fraction of a second but can last for up to one minute in some people. Another type of stabbing headache is called paroxysmal hemicrania. This is marked by episodes of stabbing or sharp pains that occur on one side of the head and may be associated with eye tearing or runny nose.
Avatar f tn Still have episodes of headaches (although not as severe) along with eye pain and occasional vision disturbance (although no loss of vision as before) and still feel increased pressure in my head both during headache and even when headache/eye pain not present. Neuro doc just thinks my meninges are still inflamed and sometimes affected by MSG in processed foods.
Avatar f tn Hi, I posted a questions to headache forum yesterday, but thought I would do one here too. I was diag. with viral meningitis and also whiplash 3 months ago. Presented to ER with severe headahce (worst in my lifetime) eye pain and vision loss, red hot stiff neck, fever and general lack of energy. Was on prednisone for 3 months and Skelaxin (muscle relaxant).
Avatar f tn I have always been prone to headaches, pre-menstrual migraine & TMJ (disc displacement). Over the past few years I have developed tinnitus with some high frequency hearing loss. I've recently had several ocular migraines, no pain but my vision is so distorted I have to go to bed. Now my headaches cause brow swelling and tenderness, even more painful is the pain, tightness and feeling of swelling at the top of my head. It is right where the fontanelle or soft spot in a baby would be.
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
1415174 tn?1453243103 I was on other meds, Celebrex, Skelaxin and am off of all except Neurontin. I have tapered the Neurontin to 500mg/day. This question is related to side effects that may be due to Neurontin or maybe my migraines. When I was on a higher dose of Neurontin I was getting almost daily visual disturbances in both eyes that looked like what my migraine auras look like but those are in one eye and are followed by a headache.
Avatar m tn My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
Avatar f tn t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar m tn The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
Avatar m tn Anyone know anything about skelaxin? My doc just sent a script for that To my pharmacy in place of soma....
673736 tn?1228234586 I hope the ortho or the neuro have checked/ will check specifically for cervicogenic headache (headache caused by problems in the neck) and clear/ed it. I agree that your case is a bit complex, but my gut feeling is that once your ‘depression’ is tackled, the headache should disappear. It is also known that thyroid hypofunction can be a cause of depression.
450140 tn?1317947304 Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.
585414 tn?1288941302 s and Catscans were done). I am on Methocarb, Skelaxin and Flexaril and Klonopin which even at maximum doses provide only limited control as well as a natural remedy rhodiola, which is in clinical study but as it is not isolated as a compound can provide only limited relief. I was unable to tolerate all anti Parkinsonian agents because they enduced psychosis as well as alpha blockers such as Clonidine because they enduced suicidal ideations.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar f tn As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
