Skelaxin get you high

Common Questions and Answers about Skelaxin get you high

skelaxin

Avatar f tn Skelaxin helps me out with that. Compared to the opiates I just got off of, I get absolutely no buzz from Skelaxin. It just makes me a bit tired. Not my idea of a recreational drug at all. ...now Flexiril, that's another story. I tried that out, taking a 10mg. Next thing I knew, it was the next day! I slept probably 10 hours, and had a druggy hangover for another half-day.
Avatar f tn Just makes me go to sleep and then feel like cr**p when I wake up. Hungover and groogy. I guess you could get addicted to it. But i dont see how.
Avatar m tn patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago. I tKe it as prescribed I have never gone over the maximum dose, I am just concerned about possible withdrawal or anything like that from skelaxin.
Avatar n tn What do you think is the most likely cause of elevated liver emzymes? How high is considered alarming?
Avatar f tn Hi and sorry about your neck/back injury. Flexeril does work a lot better. I was on it for 9 months. It wasn't too hard to get off of. Skelaxin didn't work as well for me either but did work some as I felt it after I got of of it. For short term I would take Flexeril at night (5mg). Apparently Skelaxin doesn't work for you.Flexeril only works for 3 weeks then it is a sleeping pill really. I would go on an off as needed.
Avatar f tn As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
Avatar m tn But make sure it ifs not working that you get on the correct type of pain medication for your back and I am saying this because my mother has buldged(spelling) discs in her cervical spine and bone spurs and fibromyalgia (a muscle disorder) and the muscle relaxers didnt help her too much, but everyone is different. just my advice to you...
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your comment. I have googled fybromyalgia before. A lot of the symptoms sound very similar. I guess I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a major problem like my heart before I jumped straight to fybro. I will look further into it. Thanks again.
Avatar m tn Hi youngdude! I like your name :) Wish I was a "young dudette"....LOL I am VERY familiar with Soma. It was one of my favorite DOC's. It WAS re-classified as an addictive controlled substance in January 2013. I am a chronic pain person....had back surgery in 2011. Soma is different from other muscle relaxants because "chemically"...it breaks down like a benzo....that is per my doctor that knows all about my addiction to drugs.
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar m tn It is good for occasional muscle flareups - I would not be afraid of Skelaxin when you really need it. It can be weened off. If you dont need the full strength, cut the pills in half. It will take months for muscle pain to subside in people that have it bad like you do. The time frame also depends on how low your thyroid levels were, you weren't that low so it could have been worse.
450140 tn?1317947304 Want to send tons of ((HUGS)) to you Beth and I'm sorry that you are dealing with such pain and not able to find relief. I know nothing about SKELAXIN, so I can't give you any advice about that. Hopefully, someone here will be able to help. I hope the Neuro Psych appt goes well. Stick to your guns and get that plan of action!! I know it's so frustrating not knowing what to do or where to go next. Especially, since you are going through all of this pain.
Avatar f tn J Many times symptoms appear due to synergistic drug interactions. I think you would be best advised to get one physician to review all the meds/dosages/timing and then try to coordinate what you take for treatment. Off the top of my head since your pulse is very low try taking toprol-xl 2x/day instead of 3x. That might allow your pulse rate to come up a bit, but then your BP might rise. This is self medicating and not a good idea.
Avatar n tn ER suggests neuro-surg. After attempts to get him into a NS, and paying $480, seeing 2 Drs that never even touched him, the first didn't even look at xrays or CT I brought with me. He was given a skelaxin muscle relaxer Rx and told to come back in 6 weeks. He keeps having excrutiating pain in upper left shoulder/spine connection, feels like a knot, and has not been able to sleep much. Cannot get another appt with anyone else. HELP!
493368 tn?1209757681 Skelaxin and Relafin are two which have helped most, but go to a doctor and explain the pain you are experiencing to them! If they are a good doctor at all, they will help you to alleviate the pain with a mix of medication and physical therapy as they did with me. I wish you the best.
Avatar n tn The meds you have are not meds that can help you type of pain. You need a stronger Muscle Relaxer like Flexeril or Soma. These will work much better than Skelaxin which in my opinion is the "Baby" of the Muscle relaxer meds. It is wise to stay on an anit-inflammatory like Motrin but you might want to try 800mg Ibuphropen (sp) Also. I would tell your Doc that the pain reliever is not working and request something stronger.
402205 tn?1230481005 I currently take 800mg 3xday of Skelaxin and there are no dependence issues at all, so I think you would be fairly safe not relapsing. I have read posts on here regarding soma which is a muscle relaxer and apparently it is addicting. You can also take upto 800mgs of IBprofen 3xday which really helps with muscle and joint pain. I'm not telling you to do this, just a recommendation, check with your doctor first.
Avatar f tn So glad I ran across your post! I have two spinal fractures, severe curvature of my spine, my vertebra are fusing from a condition called ankylosing spondylitis and I have a fractured pelvis. I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first child. Opiates for pain management in pregnancy are possible. They can switch your pain patches to the lidoderm patches. I know they don't work as well but they are safe. Also a TENS unit is safe I got mine from EMPI Recovery Science.
Avatar m tn Also now i have more info about you, thank you, because what you are deiscribing could be named cervical syndrome, starting in the neck muscles.. Did you tried any medication muscle relaxant-anxiolytic type? (a swiss made meds Deanxit is a good combinated drug for this need) also a type of physiotherapy compressive type is practiced on this trigger point for 1 hour daily and is capable of removing this cervical syndrome tension type headache.
Avatar f tn not really..skelaxin is not sedating as a rule..i am glad ur klonopin dose is not high...but possibly the reason u can not sleep is because of the adderall/as it is an amphetamine...u r taking sumpin to get u hyped up..then u r having to take sumpin to slow u down so u can sleep...do u see the cycle here? A muscle relaxer like zanaflex, baclofen, flexeril..many more can help right now..skelaxin may help a bit tho if u dont have the others...do u have any phenergan?
Avatar f tn hi if you knew some one who bought 10/1 40 tramadol 10/1 skelaxtin 30 pills 10/3 100 hydrocoden 10/4 tramadol 60 pills 10/17 30 tramadol 10/21 120 hydrocodene i know you think i am crazy but these were prescribed by a doctor is this really bad please help
Avatar m tn I HAVE ORDERED MY ALINIA, SKELAXIN AND REQUIP FROM CANADA. YOU DO HAVE TO HAVE A VALID SCRIPT. ON MY REQUIP AND SKELAXIN I JUST CAREFULLY PEELED LABELS AND COPIED THEM AND FAXED IN. I USE PROGRESSIVE RX. JUST GO TO THEIR WEBSITE. FROM WHAT I RESEARCHED THIS ONE IS CHEAPEST, SEEMS TO BE ON THE UP AND UP.
Avatar f tn t recommend any lifting or shoulder exercises until you see your doc and a PT. Stretches could help some, but again, you need a PT to show you what you can and can't do :) There's a cream called (Maximum Strength Analgesic) THERA-GESIC pain relieving cream. I tried biofreeze, and icy hot, but this stuff is incredible. It really helps when my traps and ribs hurt due to a pelvic slip that screws up my entire left side. (I'm almost 19, by the way, and a college freshman...
Avatar f tn t sleep w/o it) Ritalin (to stay awake at work - started on Provigil, but too expensive) Lortab (live on this - the only way I can function right now) Linsinopril/HCTZ (have been on this for 10+ years, have had high blood pressure since having Pre-Eclampia w/high risk pregnancy - high bp never went away) My point is, I feel like I'm taking "downers" to sleep and then "speed" to stay awake.
Avatar f tn I mentioned the Thomas recipe and the Amino acid protocol on the lower right side of your screen. Before you start detoxing, get as many of these items as possible - it will make your withdrawal much easier. The Klonopin is different altogther - if you want to stop taking that as well, I would wait until you're done with the opiates. And Klonopin MUST be tapered SLOWLY....I would recommend getting a tapering schedule from your doctor for this medication - you can't rush this one.
442042 tn?1205707694 keep reading and you will get good suggestions - unfortunately it is one of the symptoms that you have to get past in order to get back in life, its very worth it...and you are so close after these days. Can you find a couple of benzo's (valium, ativan, lorazepam, etc) to take foe a few days? They help a lot. Try and keep youself distracted -( movies, games, books, hobbies, whatever) And maybe use melatonin, benadryl (my favorite), sleepytime (celestial seasonings) tea - for sleep problems.
