Skelaxin and celebrex

Common Questions and Answers about Skelaxin and celebrex

skelaxin

Started w/ Flexeril (liked it, but couldn't take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
aura with neurontin or celebrex I have been getting an aura in both eyes (like a migraine aura with no headache that lasts about 15minutes to a half hour) since I was told to increase my neurontin, daily, but I was also put on Celebrex and Skelaxin at the same time. I've been off of Skelaxin since March 2010. I went off of Celebrex first as I read an article that was in a New Zealand journal of medicine that said it causes rare (9/300 people) visual disturbance.
I am afraid that i will only prolong my misery if i don't fix it since it has been years of pain and not getting better,i am 43 i am a rn and bending and on ,y feet all day,but the time i get home, iwant to shoot myself,i have a high pain tolerance and do not take narcotics, can you help?
I was on other meds, Celebrex, Skelaxin and am off of all except Neurontin. I have tapered the Neurontin to 500mg/day. This question is related to side effects that may be due to Neurontin or maybe my migraines. When I was on a higher dose of Neurontin I was getting almost daily visual disturbances in both eyes that looked like what my migraine auras look like but those are in one eye and are followed by a headache.
Gabitril Neurontin Lyrica Skelaxin Effexor Cymbalta Triavil Celebrex Emla Patches I'm open to any other suggestions as well. THANKS!!
numbness, twitching at night, trouble sleeping, depression, weight gain and that is just problems with my back and arm. I have had MRIs on my head, neck (2), back (4), CT (back), EMG (right arm), Dexa Scan (2), X-Ray (neck), Echo for tachy cardia & Bloodwork. I take Cymbalta 60mg, Omeprazole 20mg, Celebrex 200mg, Protonix 40mg, Calcium 2000mg, Fosamx 70mg, Trazodone 50mg, Skelaxin 400mg & Lortab 5. The last 3 I take as needed.
I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver". Or just "Skelaxin" alone and try to find a reputable drug site and check side effects or contraindications.
My family physician has been treating me for the severe back and leg pain with 4/Darvocet a day, 300mg Celebrex a day, 900 mg Neurontin, and Fexeril 3-10mg/day for about 15 months. My Neurosurgeon has deemed me perm. disabled and I have begun receiving Social Security Disability. The medication my family Dr. has prescribed does not do much for pain control. He recommended seeing a Pain Center Mgmt in my area.

Celebrex, Neurontin, Baclofen, Skelaxin, Relafen, Flexeril, to mention some. Things thar really work for me are Baclofen and Lidoderm patches, although some days I still have the spasms. A Cervical MRI showed: Straightening is noted suggesting spasm. Correlate clinically.
I am a 27 year old nurse with two small children who injured my back 3 months ago while transferring a patient. Currently I am being treated with oxycodone, skelaxin, Celebrex, and physical therapy.
Now am on a different medication, am taking Skelaxin 800mg three times a day and Celebrex 200mg twice a day. The only thing new is the stomach uoset and that my neck is so stiff I can barely move. I tkink also my blood pressure lowers after medication. Am 5'4" 120lbs is that the right doses for me? Still is not helping at all. The stiffness get worst by the minute and I have to switch constantly between being seated, standing and being lay down.
I currently take 800mg 3xday of Skelaxin and there are no dependence issues at all, so I think you would be fairly safe not relapsing. I have read posts on here regarding soma which is a muscle relaxer and apparently it is addicting. You can also take upto 800mgs of IBprofen 3xday which really helps with muscle and joint pain. I'm not telling you to do this, just a recommendation, check with your doctor first.
It is like an aura or wavy moving lines that last about a half hour and are in each eye. Has anyone had this from Neurontin (or Celebrex). I am tapering off of Neurontin for that reason and would like your opinion as to how to get off of it will less side effects. I am at 500mg now per day. I am now trying 100mg per week as I get ill feeling, insomnia and anxiety. What do you all normally do?
I'm so sorry you're going through that! Personally, some of the NSAIDs and other drugs scare me. I was on Vioxx and Celebrex for a while and had reactions to both. Let me know how you're doing tomorrow, please.
I was also prescribed Skelaxin which is a joke for a muscle relaxer.. with as much pain and spasms I am in this isn't even touching it.. Any help would be appreciated..
I have talked to the neurosurgeon who did the surgery and he shrugged his shoulders and said I have no idea and sent me back to my neurologist. He gave me a series of injections in both shoulders and the pain stopped for a couple days but then came right back. Then we tried message therapy, it helps but only for a short period. And I have tried changing my pillows on my bed and sleeping in different positions and nothing seems to help for long term. What can I do?
The MRI of the Neck showed 4 herniations. My physician prescribed skelaxin and celebrex along with physcial therapy and chiropractic using the pro adjuster. It has been almost 2 months and I cannot seem to get any answers regarding the numbness in my face, throat, or hands. Does anyone have any information or related experience? Thanks so much for any information.
I take Celebrex and Skelaxin but don't help. Having problem with tremors in shoulders and spine area. I'm 55 and never really been sick in my life. I know what this pain is and I feel sympathy for anyone else with it.
i take motrin and tylenol to get me through my day and flexeril to help me sleep at night. I've tried vicodin, celebrex, ultram, and skelaxin, but found the motrin/tylenol combo to work the best. I'm not a big pill taker. My question is is the neck causing the shoulder problems or is the shoulder causing the neck problems or are they 2 completely different conditions. And if I do have impingement which it sounds like i do...what can be done to fix it? Should I go back to PT?
He had whip lash and had considerable pain for several months. He received cortisone injections x 3 in his spine and was on skelaxin 1600 mgs and neurontin 600 mgs for 9 mos. He slowly went off these drugs and is off them completely about one month. Over the last 2 - 3 months he has felt his zoloft quit working. He tried increasing it to 100mg and then 150 mgs, for several weeks each with no appreciable decrease in symptoms.

She is waiting to be accepted by a Neurologist, taking Celebrex, Ultram and Skelaxin. Last night she had shocks one right after another by her left ear for hours until she was sobbing and short tempered and couldn't stand to be touched on any part of her body. I brought her fresh ice packs and tried to talk her into letting me take her to the ER, but she insisted on toughing it out.
I had a lumbar spinal fusion in February, afterward, I started feeling better for about a month, then all of a sudden I reverted backwards to the way I used to be, in chronic lower back pain, my neuro surgeon evaluated me, did an MRI and told me the fusion process was fine and all was healing well and that he was for a loss as to why I still had the same excrutiating pain, then two months later, still with the back pain, I devoloped neck pain, the pain in the neck does not change no matter what
previous history of fibromyalgia, small hiatal hernia, dueodenal ulcer, cholecystectomy, vental hernia repair, and 2 c-sections. Curent medications, celebrex 200mg 1 per day, and skelaxin 800mg 1 per day. Upon medical exam, mid epigastric tenderness, lab work revealed elevated lipase. 1st draw 379 (normal < 179), 2 days later 2nd draw lipase is 385. Dx ? chronic pancreatitis. After 1 mo. still continuing with my symptoms i visited my family physician again.
Visited regular doctor, ophthalmologist, and neuro- ophthalmologist. Several MRIs of brain and eyes with and without contrast were normal (spaced about 4 years apart). Eye exam is normal (vision is 20/20 uncorrected). Tests for Horners, MS, MG were negative. These doctors are stumped. This started about 5 years ago with infrequent episodes, but now the frequency has increased. Any assistance would be appreciated.
By 12/05, the nerves in my spine began to sting, and I have neuropathy related constipation. My D.O. ordered an MRI in 1/07, and an EMG 2/07. MRI: 1. Mild central bulging of the disc at L4-5 and L5-S1 with no evidence of compression. 2. No bony stenosis is noted. 3. Otherwise MRI of lumbar sine is unremarkable. EMG: 1. Minimal sensory neuropathy. 2.Questionable mild S1 radiculopathy on the right side, given and absent H-reflex. My D.O.

I have pain in the bones of my mouth and gums. Took Celebrex with a Skelaxin today and experienced some significant relief. I am, however glad to be successful thus far. I don't want to have to go back on opiates so I am going to give this all I have. I just don't know if I can keep up with all this horrible pain. Take care and contact someone you know near you if you feel like hurting yourself.
