Hi there! Yes,the pain when you put your foot down is normal for this & will disapate w/time. I found that strapping an ice pack to my cast in the hours that lead up to the bad hours (yours being 7pm-mine was 3am) really made the discomfort doable. The numbness is one of those things that make you go hmmm.If it is from too tight of a cast that is a cause for concern but there is also a certain amount of nerve disruption after these surgeries.

My right foot is broke and in a cast, been 3 weeks now in a cast. My left foot outside ankle started swelling due to most of my weight being on it while up on my crutches briefly as it were. Should I use icyhot product or use icepack and how often. Should I elevate both feet now?

(cast for several weeks, walking boot for several more weeks, physical therapy etc. It healed to a certain point but still felt swollen. The best way to explain it was that it felt like the fractured foot was a half shoe size bigger than the other one. The doctor gave me a shot of cortisone; no help. I will have to wear the removable cast for another month and have not yet started therapy. How long do these injuries hurt? I can't raise my arm above my pectorals on my own. Hello, Most often, broken wrists can be treated in a cast. The wrist is one area of your body that is very amenable to cast treatment. As you are young, your surgeon may advise you surgery for this but unlikely. The rule for bone healing in general is to expect a six-week period to ensure proper bone strength. One-two additional weeks of support in a removal plastic splint is generally advised. All the best.

It was missed in the first x-ray then two weeks later put in a cast. It was in a cast for a total of six weeks then a soft removable splint was recommended for four weeks. Below is a review of the x-rays. I am wondering, based on the x-ray reviews, if it was appropriate that the cast was removed on 30/10/09 and treated with a splint, or was my scaphoid doomed to progress to non-union irrespective of treatment.

March 17th to April 24th. IT DIDN"T HEAL @ ALL!!!!! So, they schedualed me for surgery. I had the surgery on: August 20th/08. Doc cut bone to freshen it, put a plate on and 7 screws and a bone graft, they put it in a partial cast with tensor and @ 2weeks post-op they took out the 14 staples and put me in an aircast. While I was waiting for this surgery I was walking on it all of the time. AFTER the surgery, I was told to keep off of it, until doc says it is OK to put weight on it.

My cousin was born that way and the doc had to breaks reset just feet and put it in a cast for six weeks. But his was really severe. Hopefully your baby will be OK with just the casts!

went to the doctor and was splinted for the weekend and referred to ortho. Upon seeing ortho i was put in a full cast to the elbow with the 4th and 5th fingers splinted bent down and taped together. My question is; Is this really necessary to have a full cast for a fractured pinky? I am in the military and not having the best experience with military doctors in the past i am pretty skeptical. I am very active and frequent gym goer and am going crazy not being able to do anything.

It was fractured on the head a slight spiral fracture. I was put into a cast for six weeks, went to physical therapy for twelve weeks and continued to do the exercises for the recommended six months afterwards. Since then if I am on the foot for more than two hours, it swells up and becomes painful to move in any direction. I've always had some problems moving left to right with it but normally walking makes me fall to my knees in pain.

Just after removal of cast you cannot expect full range of motion, but with proper physiotherapy over a period of couple of months movement in all directions could be restored. Manipulation is when a closed fracture initially without surgery is fixed in place and a cast is applied. The cast is left in for 3-4 weeks. Consult your doctor for further assistance. Best.

Today in my aftercare we had to watch this movie -- It was insane. It is called "Once Were Warriors". I dont know if anyone knows about it but it is about the affects of alcohol and domestic violence on this tribal family living in New Zealand. Our counselor is from a reservation and said that the kinds of abuse shown in this movie were common where she grew up. The violence in this film is so horrific and sickening some people walked out of the room and didnt come back.

I just set up my baby's pack n play yesterday that we finally got in. It's actually a lot smaller than a normal sized pack n play. It has the bassinet on top. When they are too big for that, you can take it off and let them use the bottom half. It's light weight. Less than 20lbs.. I love it. I have two other pack n plays my other two children used, but they are so big... The one we got came from Walmart. (Online). It's the graco portable lite weight travel crib.

You probably could, however there is such a tiny amount in the cat vials that it will be very difficult to get it divided up evenly, so chances are somebody is going to get really shorted. As it is, even half a dose is going to be very questionable unless your cats are very small. I suppose it's better than having no protection, though. How long ago was it that you dosed your cats?

i am scheduled for this surgery AND my surgeon and 4 hand physical therapists said it's normal for it to hurt for up to 12 weeks in some people. In fact they all said that people who got it done on one hand never went back for the second hand 'cuz the procedure was so painful. hang in there. read a study that after 12 years, success rate was 98% and no one regretted it or had any problems again. And, it's a full on six months before your hand is normal.

For me, hard work hard physical labor such as yard work, lifting, perhaps building a wall with stone ... this was the type of work that got me a six pack, but at the same time I was losing weight for a health problem (Celiac) so my body fat got low.

should my hand be in a cast? right now pinky and ring finger are taped together it is actually my pinky knuckle it hurts 50 times worse now then when i did it 3 weeks ago also the bone from pinky to wrist hurts extremly when touched.
