Six pack exercises work

Common Questions and Answers about Six pack exercises work

six-pack

Avatar n tn brice1967 is correct! but to add to this topic to get a 6 pack takes a lot of work and dedication. To create definition in their abdominals with consistent and appropriate training. Muscle-building techniques increase the size and definition of your abdominal muscles. However, the length of time it takes to get-six pack abs depends upon your gender, how consistently you train and whether or not you have an excess amount of body fat.
Avatar n tn We all know that no amount of sit-ups or crunches will give you a six- pack! A six-pack is the result of a clean diet as stated above, low body fat and hard, hard training. Crunches are what I consider a good "finisher" at the end of your core training, poor form often results in not much else than a sore neck. Instead, work your core with dynamic stabilizing moves.
Avatar n tn For a six-pack to show, you must reduce body fat. The body fat percentage necessary to reveal a cut torso varies according to your genes and body type, but for most men, a percentage of 6 to 8 percent will reveal abs, while for women require a percentage of about 11 to 13 percent. To reduce body fat, reduce calories below what you burn daily, which can be determined by finding your basal metabolic rate. A 250- to 500- deficit daily will lead to a 1/2- to 1-pound weight loss in a week.
Avatar f tn Not that anyone knows how to best work the abs, though, as far as I can tell. For six pack abs, quite frankly, most who have them don't get them through exercise -- it's a sure sign of steroid use, since the belly should have some fat. You'll never see agricultural or hunter-gatherer cultures with flat stomachs. Other than this, the above post is right on.
Avatar m tn A push-up not only helps you to get a stronger upper body, but also a stronger midsection. It incorporates the stabilization muscles of your core, combining an upper-body pushing movement with a plank. It is, in fact, one of the best and most basic exercises for your midsection. Push-ups are a higher value plank.
Avatar m tn Hi people, everyone has concerns about the well being of their child I too have some. Lately, he is getting mad to get the abs (six pack abs as they call it). I don’t think that this is something bad but the ways he is trying is a bit crazy. He believes all that is being told to him and I can’t figure out how he can get them without training the right way with the right exercises.
Avatar m tn No matter how many ab exercises you do, it won't show until the layer of fat is gone. Crunches and flutter kicks may give you six pack and but they won't show. Cardio helps burn fat and will remove that layer right off your belly. Anything that can get you heart pumping is cardio so make it fun! Dance fast to an upbeat song. Do jumping jacks. Run in place or just run. Look up at home cardio workouts for some fun ideas. Zumba is a great cardio workout.
Avatar f tn Many articles written about the flat abs fantasy. One geneticist stated its all in the genes for having a six pack. The goal should really be to decrease belly fat. I work out a lot, but my body just will never have the Hollywood abs mythos and I am fine with that. You are right. Its not normal.
Avatar f tn Every ab workout should include back exercises. Some ab exercises already engage back muscles such as planks or Pilates. Exercises that target the back include the lumbar extension, which involves laying prone on the floor or a ball, and lifting your head and shoulders by using your back muscles. You can have your hands on the floor or ball for support, but don't use them to push. Bird-dog is another effective back exercise.
Avatar n tn I played sports heavily all my life, high school varsity football 3 year letterman in Ohio, 13 years of baseball, the works, and I never had breathing problems really, except walking pneumonia during my senior football season. Its been about 2 and a half years and about six months ago my breathing became very difficult, my lungs felt tight, I coughed up brown chunky phlegm, and felt low on energy, like i don't have enough oxygen or something. I smoked about half a pack a day.
Avatar f tn For me, hard work hard physical labor such as yard work, lifting, perhaps building a wall with stone ... this was the type of work that got me a six pack, but at the same time I was losing weight for a health problem (Celiac) so my body fat got low.
Avatar m tn all day i was wanting to post and maybe encourage someone..work was tough today..lots triggers,,to many to name..had to avoid some good freinds.just not ready for the jokes and offers,,though they mean well..i guess...anyway day six and feeling better...my back hurts bad and other pains poppin up..but that constant craving for percs is fading..i can actually feel it in my veins letting up..still shaky..as i always was..but im very happy i made this choice..day went by quicker..
Avatar f tn I've been exercising for long time and i can feel my six pack (when i push my finger on my belly) but it's hidden under a layer of fat. Why? What should i do? Any tips?
Avatar f tn Unfortunately there isn't enough information about what you're exercise routine is. If all you're doing is cardio and legs...... You're not necessarily going to lose weight and it definitely won't get you a six pack. You're nutrition is going to be about 90% of it but if you want to see those abs you're going to need to change up your routine.
Avatar f tn Exercises to pull in your tranverse abdominals (think of those as a corset around your core, the rectus abdominals are those which make a six pack) are planks (side and pushup position), isometric holds (think holding a pullup bar and pulling your legs up straight and holding for a few seconds at a time). But focus on your diet to get rid of stubborn belly fat. Cardio will also help shed the excess fat. Try walking on an incline for 20 mins, then build to jogging intervals for 20.
1565702 tn?1295292830 starting with my usual six or seven cigarettes I smoke before I leave for work, then another four or five smoking in my car on the way to work, then taking several smoke breaks while at work in the morning with an average of two to three each break often finishing my first pack of the day just before lunch, then lunch break at a restrauant with an outdoor smoking patio where I usually smoke another six or seven cigarettes out of the second pack, then several more smoke breaks throughout the aft
Avatar n tn It starts with diet. Belly fat usually comes from eating too many simple carbs, such as sugar and white flour. That's why when it's really big it's called a beer belly, because beer is a lot of simple carbs. As for exercise, there are a million good ab exercises you can learn at your local gym. Cardio also helps with this. Don't expect a six-pack, most will never get there, but you can tone it but it will take work. Only you can determine if that work is worth it or not.
Avatar f tn I need to pack my daily lunch healthier than I have been any suggestions
Avatar f tn Ok so here is the deal: I have been a member of my gym for about 10 months now, but i have been exercising for at least a year before that. My goal is to get a defined stomach area, but i haven't been able to do much. I want that girly six pack that you see on swimsuit models where it looks like their skin shrik wrapped itself around their lean muscles. Now this month i turned up the heat on my exercises. I do cardio for 2 hours now, then i hit the weights with all that i have.
Avatar f tn It's not muscle memory lol.. it's that after ur 1st ur stomach muscles are not as tight as a 1st timer so it shows faster cuz it's loose. But if u exercised n worked on ur abs n they r strong then it will be the same as a 1st timer. This is my 3 n I exercises n had a six pack after my pregnancies so even on my 3rd I didn't show til 25 weeks.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm an athlete; I'm a pretty active one too. I was wondering what I can do to get a stronger core. I don't want like a six pack or anything, but I would like to see some definition. I am a water polo player. I also eat healthy and drink lots of water. Any tips thanks!
Avatar f tn Instead of just working the upper abs, do exercises that do the whole core in order to promote equal dimensions . Some exercises include leg raises, jacknifes, Swiss ball side crunches, side bends, Swiss ball crunches and hanging leg raises. The Swiss ball will use more ab muscles. Do each one of the exercises consecutively for 15 to 20 reps with no rest in between. Then take a 60-second break and do them all again. Repeat the whole circuit four to six times.
Avatar m tn bicycle (which also works obliques), captain's chair leg raise (also obliques), traditional OR exercise ball crunch, vertical leg crunch (legs are lifted vertically in the air) (also obliques), reverse crunch (works your lower rectus abdominis), ab rocker, plank on elbows and toes (watch form! keep your bottom down - hold for 20-60 seconds). There are MORE exercises and there are MORE abdominal muscle groups that you should target.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, it's a bit too late to lose 35 pounds before June. Any type of exercise is good for you....... you could try walking, yoga, biking, swimming, dance, tennis...... anything is good. You have to watch your diet, as well as exercise. According to your profile, you're only 15, so at that age, your body is not fully developed. You have to be very careful losing weight or you could have trouble later in life.
