Common Questions and Answers about Six pack abs low body fat

six-pack

Avatar f tn Oh, please, guys, you both know that not everyone or very many people will ever have six pack abs. Why would we want them anyway unless you watch too many TV commercials? You're both just selling something you want to be true because you both do it, but I'll bet a lot (if I had a lot) that Gymdandee for sure doesn't have six pack abs.
Avatar n tn We all know that no amount of sit-ups or crunches will give you a six- pack! A six-pack is the result of a clean diet as stated above, low body fat and hard, hard training. Crunches are what I consider a good "finisher" at the end of your core training, poor form often results in not much else than a sore neck. Instead, work your core with dynamic stabilizing moves.
Avatar f tn Usually what I do is track circuits. Basically you sprint a 1/4mi or one lap at a track and then to 20-50 sit-ups/ crunches(don't over exert yourself other wise it just hurts your muscles not tones them). Do this pattern 4-8 times, also I like to add pushup and russians so as to keep it a rounded workout. This routine helps to increase stamina, core strength, metabolism, and cardiovascular health.
Avatar n tn For a six-pack to show, you must reduce body fat. The body fat percentage necessary to reveal a cut torso varies according to your genes and body type, but for most men, a percentage of 6 to 8 percent will reveal abs, while for women require a percentage of about 11 to 13 percent. To reduce body fat, reduce calories below what you burn daily, which can be determined by finding your basal metabolic rate. A 250- to 500- deficit daily will lead to a 1/2- to 1-pound weight loss in a week.
Avatar f tn Not that anyone knows how to best work the abs, though, as far as I can tell. For six pack abs, quite frankly, most who have them don't get them through exercise -- it's a sure sign of steroid use, since the belly should have some fat. You'll never see agricultural or hunter-gatherer cultures with flat stomachs. Other than this, the above post is right on.
Avatar f tn Avoid deep fried foods, processed foods, refined foods and foods high in saturated fats. Eat foods that are nutrient-dense, high in fiber and low in fat, eat lean meats, low fat dairy, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and legumes. No liquid calories. If you want to get a six pack in a month, then no useless calories in the form of alcohol and at your age I'm sure you aren't drinking alcohol! sugared beverages like soda, sweetened teas and coffee drinks.
Avatar n tn However, the length of time it takes to get-six pack abs depends upon your gender, how consistently you train and whether or not you have an excess amount of body fat. Strength train consistently and follow a hypertrophy, or muscle building, program. That's a high frequency of training sessions, with each session being of high volume. Rectus abdominus muscles like all muscles in your body require a rest from strength training, so allow 48 hours of recovery time between training sessions.
Avatar m tn First you're only 16 so you're still growing. But understand this! The steps to get the low body fat levels necessary to show six-pack abs are very, very strict than those you'd have to do to drop a few pounds and reach a healthy weight and, may not even be possible, depending on your genetic makeup. A six-pack is when your body fat level is low enough to reveal the segments that divide your front sheath of muscle fibers on your torso.
Avatar f tn The goal should really be to decrease belly fat. I work out a lot, but my body just will never have the Hollywood abs mythos and I am fine with that. You are right. Its not normal.
Avatar f tn s possible to build six-pack abs through cardio workouts alone if you engage the core muscles. Running, tennis, kickboxing and rowing all use the core to stabilize the upper body during the workout. The abs engage, and at the same time get stronger and more defined. Doing ab exercises is the best way to sculpt the six-pack.
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone, I have been trying these for months and months but it doesn’t help me anymore. I am talking about six pack abs that I am trying to get. I joined a gym for this and the trainer told me that I would get them…but NOOOO!! That did not help me and later on I have tried a few tips that I have been suggested by my friends but that also was of no use (the whole thing helped the abs a little…but not as I wanted).
Avatar n tn You improve balance and engage your hip flexors and rectus abdominis—your six-pack muscles.
Avatar m tn The hanging leg raise is number 1. http://www.menshealth.com/fitness/ab-exercise-8?
Avatar f tn Unfortunately there isn't enough information about what you're exercise routine is. If all you're doing is cardio and legs...... You're not necessarily going to lose weight and it definitely won't get you a six pack. You're nutrition is going to be about 90% of it but if you want to see those abs you're going to need to change up your routine.
Avatar m tn A push-up not only helps you to get a stronger upper body, but also a stronger midsection. It incorporates the stabilization muscles of your core, combining an upper-body pushing movement with a plank. It is, in fact, one of the best and most basic exercises for your midsection. Push-ups are a higher value plank.
Avatar n tn If your building muscle but not losing weight, your belly will remain the same size, even get bigger if you are doing quite a lot of weights with abs (only really extreme body building excersises that is). But usually the best thing for a flat belly is cardio as well, this helps burn the fat off those areas. I warn you though, if you lose all your fat you run the risk of damaging your bones and losing your period (sorry to be so blunt - seen this happen heaps).
Avatar f tn You get a flat stomach by dieting, any exercise will help build some muscle there but most people have a six pack underneath the fat already, and everyone has a "flat stomach underneath the fat.. This is why and on skinny guys don't count :P Also, a lot of people's pooch or whatever you call it has a lot to do with inflammation of the digestive track.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm an athlete; I'm a pretty active one too. I was wondering what I can do to get a stronger core. I don't want like a six pack or anything, but I would like to see some definition. I am a water polo player. I also eat healthy and drink lots of water. Any tips thanks!
Avatar m tn Hi people, everyone has concerns about the well being of their child I too have some. Lately, he is getting mad to get the abs (six pack abs as they call it). I don’t think that this is something bad but the ways he is trying is a bit crazy. He believes all that is being told to him and I can’t figure out how he can get them without training the right way with the right exercises.
Avatar f tn I work out at least 6 days a week, two times a day if we weight train so that I get my cardio in. I have had a beautiful bikini body (with some residual loose skin and fat around the hips, abs and thighs due to my former heaviness and 4 kids). Last summer my legs looked fantastic and I was wearing a size 4 and looked almost like I could be in a fitness magazine aside from those issues just mentioned.
Avatar m tn I am 21 years old 6'3" currently 190 pounds with right around 9% body fat any idea why my abs arent seen at all when i flex them they are very hard i work them out three times a week always giving them at leats 48 hours to heal and i run 2-4 miles a day i have a pretty normal i dont drink pop or alcohol and i rarely eat over 2500 calories a day and i can not figure out why i cant seem to get abs. please any advice will help, thank you.
Avatar f tn I got my six pack back after my first. After my 4th, it was harder. I was able to have definition but always had a bit of a pooch in the lower area. I'm sure it will be the same after babe 5.
Avatar f tn squats and ab work, but you need to lose weight all over your body to flatten the abs. Plus, you don't want to work the ads a lot. Like once or twice a week for like 10 each time.
Avatar f tn So...I need a list of exercises for abs (to lose some fat and accentuate the muscles, I expecially need to accentuate lateral abdominals); to lose the fat under my arms; for legs (expecially thighs, I need to lose fat AND muscular mass)...could you help me?
