Six pack abs and diet

Common Questions and Answers about Six pack abs and diet

six-pack

Avatar n tn We all know that no amount of sit-ups or crunches will give you a six- pack! A six-pack is the result of a clean diet as stated above, low body fat and hard, hard training. Crunches are what I consider a good "finisher" at the end of your core training, poor form often results in not much else than a sore neck. Instead, work your core with dynamic stabilizing moves.
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone, I have been trying these for months and months but it doesn’t help me anymore. I am talking about six pack abs that I am trying to get. I joined a gym for this and the trainer told me that I would get them…but NOOOO!! That did not help me and later on I have tried a few tips that I have been suggested by my friends but that also was of no use (the whole thing helped the abs a little…but not as I wanted).
Avatar n tn For a six-pack to show, you must reduce body fat. The body fat percentage necessary to reveal a cut torso varies according to your genes and body type, but for most men, a percentage of 6 to 8 percent will reveal abs, while for women require a percentage of about 11 to 13 percent. To reduce body fat, reduce calories below what you burn daily, which can be determined by finding your basal metabolic rate. A 250- to 500- deficit daily will lead to a 1/2- to 1-pound weight loss in a week.
Avatar f tn It just takes a lot of discipline, and you have to be willing to take it to the extreme! Diet is a major factor!! Avoid deep fried foods, processed foods, refined foods and foods high in saturated fats. Eat foods that are nutrient-dense, high in fiber and low in fat, eat lean meats, low fat dairy, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and legumes. No liquid calories.

Avatar f tn s Gym, which is one of the hardest core gym in the country, and I watch a lot of sports, and almost nobody has six pack abs except the ones who use steroids or have remarkable genetics. You guys have been reading too many Arnold Swarzenegger publications.
Avatar m tn Before i was fat, but now i became thin, but now i feel weak, and i want to have a really good physique. I want to change my workout and diet but the desire of having 6 pack abs is forcing me to keep on going on the same diet (which is starving myself). So my main point here is that i want someone to guide me. I dont want to be thin i want to be ripped. I want to like go on the beach and to feel confident that i have a good shaped and ripped body.
Avatar n tn However, the length of time it takes to get-six pack abs depends upon your gender, how consistently you train and whether or not you have an excess amount of body fat. Strength train consistently and follow a hypertrophy, or muscle building, program. That's a high frequency of training sessions, with each session being of high volume. Rectus abdominus muscles like all muscles in your body require a rest from strength training, so allow 48 hours of recovery time between training sessions.
Avatar f tn ve done tons of research about stomach fat and the best way to burn it is by a balanced diet and by drinking a lot of water and engaging in both cardio and strength training, but is there anything else? i workout usually everyday, at the least 5 times a week, very rarely 4. I eat quite heathy, taking in a lot of fruits and vegetables and trying to watch my serving sizes and portions.
Avatar f tn Not that anyone knows how to best work the abs, though, as far as I can tell. For six pack abs, quite frankly, most who have them don't get them through exercise -- it's a sure sign of steroid use, since the belly should have some fat. You'll never see agricultural or hunter-gatherer cultures with flat stomachs. Other than this, the above post is right on.
Avatar m tn //www.sixpackabsexercises.com/]how to get six pack abs[/url] and later he found a great guide that not only made him have them but in a proper way that was comfortable to his physical and mental well-being. You can give it a look (try the link).
Avatar f tn I got my six pack back after my first. After my 4th, it was harder. I was able to have definition but always had a bit of a pooch in the lower area. I'm sure it will be the same after babe 5.
Avatar n tn The stabilizing muscles in your abs, upper and lower back, and shoulders work harder than they would in a traditional plank. Anti-Rotation Crunch Attach a rope to the low pulley of a cable station and lie on your back alongside the stack. With both hands, hold the rope in front of your chest. Perform a crunch, arms locked, and don't let your torso rotate (even though the cable pulls you sideways). Pause, and return to the starting position. Do 15 reps, switch sides, and repeat.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately there isn't enough information about what you're exercise routine is. If all you're doing is cardio and legs...... You're not necessarily going to lose weight and it definitely won't get you a six pack. You're nutrition is going to be about 90% of it but if you want to see those abs you're going to need to change up your routine.
Avatar f tn You get a flat stomach by dieting, any exercise will help build some muscle there but most people have a six pack underneath the fat already, and everyone has a "flat stomach underneath the fat.. This is why and on skinny guys don't count :P Also, a lot of people's pooch or whatever you call it has a lot to do with inflammation of the digestive track.
Avatar f tn Ditto. Many articles written about the flat abs fantasy. One geneticist stated its all in the genes for having a six pack. The goal should really be to decrease belly fat. I work out a lot, but my body just will never have the Hollywood abs mythos and I am fine with that. You are right. Its not normal.
Avatar m tn A push-up not only helps you to get a stronger upper body, but also a stronger midsection. It incorporates the stabilization muscles of your core, combining an upper-body pushing movement with a plank. It is, in fact, one of the best and most basic exercises for your midsection. Push-ups are a higher value plank.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm an athlete; I'm a pretty active one too. I was wondering what I can do to get a stronger core. I don't want like a six pack or anything, but I would like to see some definition. I am a water polo player. I also eat healthy and drink lots of water. Any tips thanks!
Avatar f tn It's not muscle memory lol.. it's that after ur 1st ur stomach muscles are not as tight as a 1st timer so it shows faster cuz it's loose. But if u exercised n worked on ur abs n they r strong then it will be the same as a 1st timer. This is my 3 n I exercises n had a six pack after my pregnancies so even on my 3rd I didn't show til 25 weeks.
Avatar m tn I'm currently 15 years old, and found out my pulled hip turned out to be a lymph node infection caused by bacteria. I've really been depressed lately because I feel the issue isn't really resolving as fast as I want it to and it's put me way out of shape.
Avatar m tn m a recently turned 18 y/o male, skinny, and my question is, how can I get my stomach in the picture shown below to a six pack? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar m tn I've damned the torpedoes. I am doing the www.musclehack.com 10-week weight lifting cycles, including diet advice. I just finished the 10 week "total six-pack abs" and I'm sure I violated every rule for Hep C patients in the book (ie pure protein meals, pure carbohydrate meals, yada yada). Should you do this? don't ask me. However, I don't tell lies on this list by being super worried but still drinking alcohol and/or staying obese and glutinous.
Avatar n tn Just go to You Tube and look up ab exercises. There will be a million of them. The above post is referring to interval training, and that's going to be hard to do if you can't get away from your kids for awhile, and isn't going to be easy to do if you've never done it. Again, none of us know what your physical condition is right now, so we can't know how much you can handle.
Avatar n tn I used to compete as both a bodybuilder and also as a national level power lifter - there really is only one thing that brings out abs - strict diet and cardio. All the crunches and sit ups in the world will not help. I recommend following a high protein low carb diet for 16 weeks along with a 30 minute cardio routine (running is best) at least 4 times a week - also continue with weightlifting as the promotion of muscle tissue assists with keeping the metabolism strong. Best of Luck.
Avatar m tn I may have posted in the wrong section, but I can't find anywhere more fitting. I am 14 years of age and have an extreme itching sensation inside the anus, and have been unable to identify the cause. I have suspected pinworms, but have seen no worms in my stool. I actually have a theory that goes back to a couple of months ago. I went on a five mile run, and stopped at a Jersey Giants to pick up a sub. When I got home, I got diarrhea, and it lasted for about three days.
Avatar n tn what does this mean and should i be tested again... the nurse said i was fine and then i got this in the mail tonight... can someone explain? thanks so much. I also have not been sexually active in six months and don't feel i've been exposed... but the 'positive' in this report is making me think... hiv 1/0/2 abs-icma hiv 1/0/2 abs -index value <1.00 <1.00 index value: specimen reactivity relative to the negative cutoff.
