Avatar n tn m asking please if is it possable that if i take the drug sitagliptin it would mean i could reduce the gliclazide and stop the mrtformin my Diabetes is well controlled on the whole but my nurse as requested i increase the glicazide
Avatar m tn Of the total number of subjects [N=3884] in Phase II and III clinical studies of Sitagliptin, 725 patients were 65 years and over, while 61 patients were 75 years and older. No overall differences in safety or effectiveness were observed between subjects 65 years and over and younger subjects. While this and other clinical experience have not identified differences in responses between the elderly and younger patients, greater sensitivity of some older individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avatar m tn During the illness, I took a course of antibiotics + antivirals - immunomodulators interferon synthesis inhibitors. These medicines affect the formation of antibodies or viral load or HIV seroconversion?
488724 tn?1253551235 I take 1000mg of Metformin twice a day, 100mg of Januvia(Sitagliptin) once a day and i take 25mg of Levothyroxin once a day. I also just started 150mg of Ranitidine twice a day for my stomach pain that makes me always feel nauseaous, and 100mg of Loratidine once a day for allergies. and today im starting taking Vitamins that i had stopped for a while.
Avatar f tn e, other possible cause) which never grew and a huge attack in 2000 (brain MRI with lesions and history of Optic neuritis, 2 sets of SSEPs 4 years apart both abnormal and median abnormal above syrinx site which had shrunk and finally spinal tap which previously only showed elevated lymphs now had elevated Igg synthesis and index (apparently elevated 10X lab normal). Moved to new town and had myoclonus badly which bothered new neurologist but has been resolved.
1139187 tn?1355706647 Had every test known to mankind. All negative except the protein synthesis with electrofusion, they are doing a bone marrow check in weds. Everything else was fine.. Full blood and smear done. Any ideas? Feel like rap all the time. Terrible back pain, ear ringing.
Avatar n tn In meningiomas a conditioned medium of a neutralizing antibody is added against platelet-derived growth factor to see its effect on DNA synthesis—to know the cell activity basically—how fast the cells are diving and whether DNA synthesis of cells can be inhibited. Pronounced effects means that effect of something was more than expected—it could be the effect of the neutralizing antibody or any other signal or intensity they are testing. Please discuss this with your neurologist. Take care!
Avatar f tn My tap results had an elevated synthesis rate and bloodwork showed some elevation in sed rate. What does that mean?
Avatar f tn I'm almost 7 weeks and have hypothyroidism. Doc will probably out you on synthesis to get it under control so you and baby can be healthier. I've been taking it for like 7 yrs lol but if you need it so does baby.
Avatar m tn They can. OC-Bands indicate antibody synthesis in the CNS that is different from the antibody synthesis in the rest of the body, That is really all it means, so there are other CNS immune conditions that can cause OC-Bands in CSF.
Avatar m tn and it makes Protein synthesis inhibitor antibiotics i mean is this medicine affected my body and the Hiv virus couldnt produce itself by using trna with replication and my Elisa test couldnt catch it... Can it be like that and effect my body??? Thank you so much lovely people...
Avatar m tn Your levels are very good. Alb of 4.3 means your liver (synthesis) is functioning very well. The A/G ratio is above 1.0, and still indicating normal functioning of your hepatobiliary system. Keep healthy!
1312898 tn?1314568133 My CSF shows a high Igg Index and high Igg synthesis. I have O-bands in CSF and blood but the blood was taken the following week becuase it was overlooked. Is it considered positive on the Igg Index alone or do you need both? sorry, I'm just trying to understand. thanks!!
Avatar n tn Why was it suggested? Who suggested it to you? This supplement seems like it's designed for bodybuilders. It's not regulated by the FDA, so a pharmacist may not have information on contraindications. Still, a call to your Copaxone pharmacy as well as your PCP are in order.
Avatar m tn In the present experiments cultured normal human fibroblasts have been used to explore the effects of ketoconazole on cholesterol synthesis. Ketoconazole inhibited cholesterol synthesis (greater than 90% suppression in 1 hr) rapidly by blocking the conversion of methyl sterols to cholesterol. Dihydrolanosterol was the major methyl sterol which accumulated with ketoconazole. At high concentrations of ketoconazole, the conversion of squalene to methyl sterols was also inhibited.
Avatar m tn Your numbers show a cholastatic profile. You need to discuss this with your doctor and they will likely want to do an ultrasound as a followup. The activity is very mild so there isn't anything to worry about. Your liver synthesis function looks to be very good, so your liver is normal. You do need to followup with your doctor though.
Avatar m tn Alt, Ast and Alp. But your liver does many things including synthesis and excretory functions. It is these functions that tell you how your liver is really doing, health wise. Your liver enzymes simply let you know if your liver is troubled, within the last several days. They do not indicate your liver's overall health. It is the synthesis and excretory functions that do that. So the numbers of interest are the: bilirubin, albumin, albumin/globulin ratio (A/G), platelet count, etc ...
Avatar m tn We use a low “induction phase” dose which is about half the dose used for typical Cushing’s and that alone in about 3 days reduces adrenal cortex hormone synthesis and sex hormone levels. The reduction in levels of the sex hormones including androstenedione. can be validated with blood work and occurs whether or signs of Cushing’s disease signs such as excessive water drinking improve or not.
1312898 tn?1314568133 She showed me that the IGG synthesis was high as was the IGG Index. She told me I have Oligiclonal bands in my spinal fluid but it’s also in my blood. She said the tests can change over time. I wonder if the fact that they forgot to take my blood on the same day of the LP impacted the results? Basically, I have no clue what this stuff means but here it is: IGG Index .94 ref 0.00-.77 IGG Synthesis 3.41 ref 0.00-3.00 CSF contains oligoclonal bands.
Avatar f tn It usually takes decades of alcohol abuse to cause cirrhosis. Certainly heavy drinking can cause alcoholic liver disease (ALD), but this does not cause advanced, end-stage fibrosis early on. So it's very unlikely that you have caused significant, long-term damage to your liver. Especially given your repeatedly normal ultrasound results wrt your liver and spleen - plus having normal platelet levels adds further confidence to these results.
