Avatar m tn We do know that sudden death does happen in humans and animals, and we are not implying any wrong doing by our vet (?), but this so very hard to understand.
Avatar n tn The black diarrhea (yes that indicates blood) might be more of a concern because this can be a symptom of a serious infection that can be responsible for sudden death. I would have expected to see her show more symptoms leading up to the sudden death, but all dogs are a bit different. Parvo is an example of a viral GI infection that can cause bloody diarrhea and sudden death. Again so sorry this happend.
Avatar m tn Our family went through four deaths in a very short time, one being a 33 year old and his 13 year old son....murder/suicide. Sudden death is devastating however it happens. If it wasn't for grief counseling, things would have been much worse and longer lasting. Please do this for yourself and those around you. Hugs........

I am a 54 year old male with two major heart attacks, I was told one thing by my cardiologist and another by the doctor that put in the device. thank you for your help.

The day before she died she was ok, playful. no sign at all that she's not ok. i don't know, im sad and very depressed of what happened. I cannot imagine that she was gone. Please give me advice or explanation of what happen. thank you.
Avatar n tn There needs to be an underlying issue that may have been induced by stress, but if it were related to their heart it would most likely be the result of either a heart attack or an issue with the electrical system that makes the heart beat. Normally if the later is true there is sudden cardiac death. This happens when the heart goes into a rhythm which prevent sufficient blood flow to keep the vital organs alive.
2056612 tn?1330697184 While mitral valve prolapse has been assoicated with an increased risk of sudden death, this area is controversial and the risk may be more related to the degree of mitral regurgitation rather than MVP as such. Cardiomyopathies are certainly associated with an increased risk of sudden cardiac death. The data on drugs like Cialis is generally reassuring with regard to the risk of sudden death, although this is drawn from studies of men with coronary heart disease.
Avatar m tn I am so very sorry about the passing of your little dog. It is always hard to take, but especially when it has come as such a shock. It may have been a heart attack or stroke, yes, or it could have been a hidden spleen tumour which suddenly ruptured. There is NOTHING you probably could have done to stop this. So please don't blame yourself. Sudden death does sometimes happen, and like Margot said, you can't know the cause of death unless a necropsy (autopsy) is done.
Avatar m tn Of the total number of subjects [N=3884] in Phase II and III clinical studies of Sitagliptin, 725 patients were 65 years and over, while 61 patients were 75 years and older. No overall differences in safety or effectiveness were observed between subjects 65 years and over and younger subjects. While this and other clinical experience have not identified differences in responses between the elderly and younger patients, greater sensitivity of some older individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avatar f tn ) researching risperidone it does have a risk of sudden death, with no obvious showing on the heart at autopsy, also if there was a hereditary problem with the electrical side of the heart this can cause sudden death,( our sisters sudden death age 4 months) at autopsy his heart only weighed 300 coroner stated it was difficult to assess found signs of early furring everything else looked ok . I'm not blaming the drug or anyone he needed it, and the people who were helping him. .
Avatar m tn I can't find the site to post, but i am pretty sure that a large study was done which showed no correlation between those with benign pvc's/pac's and early death. ie. your risk of sudden death is the same as anyone elses (veryy low). 200 in 24 hours is not that many when you consider that your heart beats 100,000 times a day. I get a lot more when I am having a bout of them, eg 3 or 4 a minute for hours on end. I am not sure where early repolarisation fits in.
Avatar f tn We just found out that it is a rare genetic, very dangerous heart condition called LQTS ( Long QT Interval syndrome. It is a sudden death syndrome. It kills family members under the age of 50. A six year old can die of it. It is very treatable. It should show up on an EKG> There is a Dr. in SLC, Utah by the name of Li Zhang whou is one of the top 10 specialists in the world in this area. Yu need to have this checked out.
