Avatar m tn Of the total number of subjects [N=3884] in Phase II and III clinical studies of Sitagliptin, 725 patients were 65 years and over, while 61 patients were 75 years and older. No overall differences in safety or effectiveness were observed between subjects 65 years and over and younger subjects. While this and other clinical experience have not identified differences in responses between the elderly and younger patients, greater sensitivity of some older individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avatar m tn As opposed to European (EASL) 2012, Asian-Pacific (APASL) 2012, American (AASLD) 2009, and World Health Organisation (WHO) 2015 major guidelines for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B, the following 3 guidelines are more strict on the conditions leading to necessity of treatment for Hepatitis B, HBeAg negative carriers: Canadian 2009, Japanese (JSH) 2013, and UK/British (NICE) 2013 guidelines are more "strict" when it comes to treatment of negative HBsAg patients, especially in the

Avatar m tn We use the FDA and CDC approved testing guidelines. Freedome health is in the UK and have different guidelines. Dr.Hook and Dr.HHH have real world testing experience and are confident to give other time lines on testing.
Avatar f tn There are many people on Thyroid Chat that say that the ACCE guidelines that state subclinical would be TSH over 10 with normal t/3 t/4 or TSH 5-10 with normal t/3 t/4 and goiter or antibody are outdated and todays guidelines say that TSH should be at 1 or at least below 3 EVEN with normal t/3 t/4.
Avatar m tn I am trying to get something in writing to show that this decision does not follow within the accepted guidelines for treatment of his form of Hepititis. I believe the Dr. in Az. may have made this decision not realizing he did not have a 12 week blood sample. My son is 43 years old and in otherwise good health. He has not had any symptoms of Hep C nor has he had any side effects from the treatments.
10011789 tn?1409704061 t been given any guidelines yet. I have a doppler at home and as nice as it is, it scares me half to death too because I can usually only pick up one heartbeat and if I do pick up 2, I have no idea if its really 2 diff ones or if im picking up the same one from a diff angle. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and im already a nervous wreck. Im just so scared that they won't both be there. Im glad im not the only one worried sick.
Avatar f tn This rigorous review format is also used by many other well-respected medical organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO), the American College of Physicians, and the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) in the UK. ILADS guidelines are the only Lyme disease guidelines that included a patient from the Lyme community as an author or as a member of the guidelines development panel.
Avatar f tn Personally I haven't ever and wouldn't use a bumper, there's no purpose for them other than they look nice, and they increase the risk of SIDS. It's not worth risking just for the sake of the cot looking nice.
333672 tn?1273792789 In fact NICE has published guidelines about MS disease-modifying drugs, which I have seen before, but their site (www.nice.org.uk) seems to be malfunctioning at the moment. Their is some info about their guidelines at the U.K. MS Society site at http://www.mssociety.org.uk/get_involved/campaigning/key_campaigns/guidelines.html. I had the impression that NICE tended to think that the cost of the MS DMDs was quite high compared to their perceived level of benefits.
Avatar f tn The cyst is under 5cm so currently under the threshold of NICE guidelines for the removal of it. However they are considering removing it more due to the fact that I have had multiple hospital admissions from the pain from it and still dosed up on painkillers hence the repeat scans etc. I am currently having repeat scans and CA 125 blood tests to ensure that any abnormalities are picked up. I'm sorry to hear about your difficult experience, I hope things are better for you now!
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone. I thought that I'd start a thread about something nice. Can you think of a time when someone (maybe a stranger, maybe not) helped you when you were in pain? For example, for me, sometimes people at the food store offer to help me take the food to my car. The little things mean a lot to me! Does anyone else have any other little things that have touched them? Also, on a side note--and I don't know where to put this...
