Avatar m tn Of the total number of subjects [N=3884] in Phase II and III clinical studies of Sitagliptin, 725 patients were 65 years and over, while 61 patients were 75 years and older. No overall differences in safety or effectiveness were observed between subjects 65 years and over and younger subjects. While this and other clinical experience have not identified differences in responses between the elderly and younger patients, greater sensitivity of some older individuals cannot be ruled out.

996769 tn?1249681013 here's an example of a label that says do not use if you have --- thyroid disease Caution: Do not use BreastSuccess if you are pregnant, nursing, or have any of the following conditions: high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid disease, glaucoma, diabetes, difficulty urinating due to prostate enlargement, or if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for two (2
100019 tn?1335919717 For genotype 1 patients who cannot take interferon, the panel recommends sofosbuvir plus the HCV protease inhibitor simeprevir (Olysio), with or without ribavirin, again for 12 weeks. This off-label regimen has not been through full Phase 3 testing, but performed very well in the Phase 2 COSMOS trial.
Avatar n tn Did your doctor prescribe it to you for this? If not, STOP right now...'experimenting' with prescription medications, which are extremely addictive can NEVER have good outcomes.
Avatar f tn They all have reported feeling better daily - this off label approach is a God Send! Now I will finish out the 12 weeks - they will do the viral load test again at that time and then 12 weeks post treatment test again to declare me officially SVR!!! NO HORRIBLE INTERFERON OR RIBAVARIN THIS TIME FOR ME!!
1635208 tn?1300807160 Hi welcome to the Hepatitis C community Olysio per the prescribing information sheet is intended to be used with interferon and Ribavirin. The same applies to Sovaldi. Per prescription they are not used together. However there have been clinical trials using them together "off label" and they have been shown to be highly effective when used together. You can web search for Cosmos clinical trial cohort 1 and cohort 2 to see study results.
Avatar m tn My guess is that they are having label issues. They might get an approval with a limited label, followed by a label modification in the near future. Just a guess though.
454863 tn?1208306979 I mean, like years ago, I thought I was Bipolar, or schizo, or compulsive, or bisexual, or any of these tasty sounding words, but I just dont believe in labels anymore. I mean why should we always have to label ourselves like this. Like people who are genius's like Bill Gates. Do they go around saying "IM A GENIUS, IM A GENIUS" No. Its just, I dont get it. Maybe someone can answer me. (Geez I think I might have hit a soft spot on this one) sorry if i do.
Avatar f tn After reviewing the medications I was already taking (to avoid any conflicts) she recommended Lamotrigine for my intense anxiety. I am VERY familiar with off-label drug uses, but I can find no information re: the use of this drug for my situation. It is a drug used for bi-polar disorder and seizures. I thought that Atavan would be the drug of choice, and after reading more about Lamotrigine, I have become actually quite shocked about this recommendation.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been approved for Olysio and Sovaldi off label and on Medicare? I failed traditional interferon/ribavirin, have fibrosis stage 2, and waiting for approval.
Avatar n tn Wikipedia is a good starting point, as it usually is linked to the other label sites. Look for lines within the label info that refer to liver or hepatic. If there is any knowledge that a drug can harm the liver it will be on the label. You can easily come across a line on some drug labels that warns about treating patients with "hepatic impairment" (means liver damage).
Avatar f tn noo all though i did once and boy my bd almost chopped off my head i was sitting there wondering why he got mad he then showed my the label that pregnant ladys arent allowed to take it goshh the rest of the night i just felt bad about no reading the label now im a label reader to everything i drink and eat
Avatar f tn [1] Both prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs (OTCs) can be used in off-label ways, although most study of off-label use centers on prescription drugs.
518798 tn?1295212279 When I am stuck at home, I tend to do alot of web surfing. I ran across this site where a pharmacist was complaining about the problems he had a work. Someone asked him what they did with the scripts that people had filled but didn't pick up. He was complaining and said that he lost money on these patients because get this: 1. the pharmacist salary to fill the script. 2. the cost for the bottle and label.
739988 tn?1386672969 ve personally used it but it is in clinical practice as an anti-cholesterol agent used off label as a mood stabilizer in the United States. Remember technically a doctor can prescribe any medication for other purposes but usually a trained psychopharmocologist would be the one to know about FDA approved medications in use experimentally for other purposes. Your doctor could prescribe it for anti-cholesterol use of course.
Avatar f tn If it was truly harmful it would say on a warning label for you to check with a doc if you were pregnat I think you're safe. Can always give your nurse a call and double check and she may say yes and and if not I'm sure she would give advice on another product. Honestly have never heard of it being harmful. Because it shouldn't be anything of a harmful smell.
Avatar m tn if the message is on this site, go to the upper right corner of this screen and click the INBOX label.
Avatar n tn The pharmacist should have explained this to him. I believe there would also be either a label on the inhaler near the prescription label or see it should be typed right onto the prescription label to rinse after each use. Easily treated but you will definitely want a doctor to have a look.
683231 tn?1467323017 My Dr is asking my insurance for pre approval for Solvaldi Olysio off label. Originally she said a week or so but now says could be 3 or 4 weeks till we hear. I am wondering how long it has taken others from when their Dr asked for the off label usage before they were approved.
