m asking please if is it possable that if i take the drug sitagliptin it would mean i could reduce the gliclazide and stop the mrtformin my Diabetes is well controlled on the whole but my nurse as requested i increase the glicazide

Hi welcome to the Hepatitis C community Olysio per the prescribing information sheet is intended to be used with interferon and Ribavirin. The same applies to Sovaldi. Per prescription they are not used together. However there have been clinical trials using them together "off label" and they have been shown to be highly effective when used together. My guess is that they are having label issues. They might get an approval with a limited label, followed by a label modification in the near future. Just a guess though.

After reviewing the medications I was already taking (to avoid any conflicts) she recommended Lamotrigine for my intense anxiety. I am VERY familiar with off-label drug uses, but I can find no information re: the use of this drug for my situation. It is a drug used for bi-polar disorder and seizures. I thought that Atavan would be the drug of choice, and after reading more about Lamotrigine, I have become actually quite shocked about this recommendation.

Wikipedia is a good starting point, as it usually is linked to the other label sites. Look for lines within the label info that refer to liver or hepatic. If there is any knowledge that a drug can harm the liver it will be on the label. You can easily come across a line on some drug labels that warns about treating patients with "hepatic impairment" (means liver damage).

If it was truly harmful it would say on a warning label for you to check with a doc if you were pregnat I think you're safe. Can always give your nurse a call and double check and she may say yes and and if not I'm sure she would give advice on another product. Honestly have never heard of it being harmful. The pharmacist should have explained this to him. I believe there would also be either a label on the inhaler near the prescription label or see it should be typed right onto the prescription label to rinse after each use. Easily treated but you will definitely want a doctor to have a look.

My Dr is asking my insurance for pre approval for Solvaldi Olysio off label. Originally she said a week or so but now says could be 3 or 4 weeks till we hear. I am wondering how long it has taken others from when their Dr asked for the off label usage before they were approved.
