i recently have a test and my hbA1c is equal to 5.6 what it means?
My recent HBa1c reading is 5.1. During August 2012 it was 5.4. The present FBs is 70 and PP is 75. Are the readings normal.

If i want to maintain an hba1c control of below 7, how many times can i slack off on blood sugar controls in a period of 3-months? i need to know a range that i shud maintain on a daily basis at different time intervals of the day (morning, before lunch, evening, night, pre & post meals) and how many times if at all it happens that i am higher than the desirable range will the hba1c result be affected?
I find my HbA1C going up whenever my TSH goes down below normal. Is there a possibility that a low TSH causes high HbA1C?

I have been type 1 diabetic now for 18 years,it has always been controlled untill...about 11 months ago my hba1c suddenly went up to 9.2 and then lst wk was exactly the same, I am 22years old I am trying me hardest to get it dwn as I want to start trying 4 a baby, I don't drink or smoke, I eat fresh fruit and veg everyday, I test BG before everymeal but can't figuire out where I am going wrong!!
Just recently I was told that I may need to take thyroid medications and it seems my hba1c levels are also high. Here are my lab results. Anything you guys can suggest would be helpful. I have been prescribed synthroid 0.25 mg and metformin 500 mg. nothing for the low iron levels.

Hi, i have my son of 13 months now and today i just got terrified when i saw some big aunts gathering around his wet pant. i just rushed to the diagnostic centre to do the reports of my son, i had already done urine test when he was about 7 months and it was normal except some pus cells. today i got 2 reports done for him one is random blood glucose and hba1c at 8 am and he just had a bottle of milk (lactogen with complan) at 6 am, so the result was 84mg/dl for random and 5.
Your question is unclear. An A1c [HBA1C] test can be taken anytime. You do not need prior fasting or postprandial results to do so.

Your fasting glucose may be 95, which is still at the high end of normal, but your hba1c of 6.4, gives you an average blood sugar of about 150, which is well above normal. If you wait until your hba1c is 7.0, this will give you an average blood sugar of close to 180, nearly double normal. There is much consensus that the risk of heart disease rises significantly as hba1c increases above 5.0.
