Avatar m tn Our Local MO has recommended Galvus 50mg for diabetes medication. However, after further reading on the net I found that Galvus 50mg is not for liver patients.. the problem is I can't seem to find any suitable medication for her diabetes which would NOT effect her liver condition. I welcome any suggestion or recommendation from members and medical practitioners here please..

Avatar m tn Of the total number of subjects [N=3884] in Phase II and III clinical studies of Sitagliptin, 725 patients were 65 years and over, while 61 patients were 75 years and older. No overall differences in safety or effectiveness were observed between subjects 65 years and over and younger subjects. While this and other clinical experience have not identified differences in responses between the elderly and younger patients, greater sensitivity of some older individuals cannot be ruled out.

Does her newly discovered paroxysmal atrial fibrillation caused her stroke in the past few years? 2. Does her mild tricuspid regurgitation caused her atrial fibrillation? 3. Since my mother has mild tricuspid regurgitation, is it ok to use Pradaxia as anticoagulant?

Just bought a book by Dr. Neal Barnard hoping to get the DM where it should be. I think the Inf/Reb tx had something to do with the onset of the DM-everything was just too coincidental! I worry too all these DM meds are hard on the liver. His kidneys seem to be OK so far; GFR's are 100 from Oct and 117 from April, but he does have Htn with BP on the 27th 162/87.
