Common Questions and Answers about Sinus pain neck jaw

But now I have another very severe pain flare up in the sinus, jaw, neck witih swollen lymph nodes again. And this time, the Amoxil is only working 60% on my symptoms and I've been taking it 7 days now. Now I will be finding a new dentist, probably at the University dental school in my city. But really the question comes, since those Xrays showed nothing before, what can this really be?
Does anyone know if sinus and neck pain are connected. I havs chronic sinus, especially with all the pollen and have recently began having pain in my neck, mostly on one side running up to the hairline.
I'm a 39 year old female. I have been through a lot of surgeries and pain. but at least then I knew what was going on. I have been suffering from some kind of spasms of my facial muscles or tissue. It hurts very bad. I draws my up to one side, one eye will get blurred, and closed more than the other, there is tightening all the way down into the front of my neck and inside my mouth. My teeth throb, my gums swell. the wierd thing is that it changes sides or is both sides at one time.

My father is 54 years old (non smoker) and for the past 3 years he's been having a reoccurring pain/swelling around the neck/jaw area (right hand side - around wisdom tooth but its not that). Sharp kind of pain that suddenly appears and is similar to nerves being trapped more or less. We have seen dentist, doctors and done x-rays, ultra sounds and so on but everything appears to be fine. It calms down with antibiotics but its no cure... Do you have any advice what could be causing this?
I was treating my sefl for sinusitis.. it killed it off but now im getting.. jaw pain neck pain sometimes dizzyness, headaches pain around sinus area and pressure in my eyes. i also feel like my head is too heavy to hold up :( my upper teeth also feel funny. like tingling. I am 35 years old, and had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 24. But that's not why I'm posting. My current problem started roughly 3 or 4 years ago. My upper right 1st molar had a filling in it...the filling broke, and the dentist I used to have drilled it out and put a very large filling in. Even since that fateful day, I've had problems on and off. For the first 6 months or so, the tooth was tender and my maxillary sinus would hurt.
It is however more than possible that you could have an infection in your jaw, say, from an impacted or infected wisdom tooth. Tooth pain can often make the ear and neck hurt as well (just as an ear infection can make the teeth hurt...). There is also the possibility that there is nothing wrong with you dentally either and you are suffering from neuralgic pain.
excellent sprinter, but unable to run for more than 4 minutes since I was 10. Jaw, neck, tongue pain, dizziness, nauesa starts 3 minutes after beginning to run. same thing for the last 12 years. I didn't think it was weird, but finally decided it was a problem this year. I just hate not being able to excercise like everybody else. Resting ekg normal, bp normal, constant resting tachycardia ~100-110. Thyroid normal. My cardiologist did a stress test today, and I feel totally scammed.
He still wants me to take the Gabapantin for another month or so... No I have pain in my ears, neck, head and now jaw. the weird think is I cannot have any alcohol anymore without waking up with a massive headache. It doesnt matter the amount even after 2 small glasses of white wine. The migranes have stopped, but after doing research I think being on all this medication that my liver is shot???
I have sinus pain and pain around my cheek bone, i also have headaches behind my eyes and around my temple area. my jaw feels really achy and stiff and my nose feels really sore and tender inside there is also some redness inside my nose. my neck is stiff also and a bit of ear ache. i also keep getting a vertigo feeling like things are swaying or sloping?
After 7 months of symptoms similar to yours - I am still not sure if neck problems cause the jaw pain (and facial pain and ear pain lower back pain) or if TMJ disorder causes it all. What is helping: -Wearing a neck brace (inexpensive - get it at the pharmacy) seems to help. Espcially at the end of the day when my neck is tired. -Sleeping on my back. I used to sleep on my stomach - arms and lega akimbo. I think this put a lot of pressure on my neck and jaw.
For about a month now I have been having chronic neck pain and extreme upper jaw pain. The pain is also in my nose. It feels like pressure like when you have a sinus infection. I wake up in the morning with drainage in my throat then it goes away as the day proceeds. I have been to the doctor too many times. They did a mri on my head and everything was normal they also did a CT scan on my face and that was also normal.
I was having head aches, neck/head aches, jaw pain, ear pain, and stabbing pains behind the eyes. Been on antibiotic, seemed to help alot, my eyes seemend like they were hazy even. Going to ENT doctor in early June. Oh by the way, I also had facial tingling for 6 years, this is why I had MRI done, everything was normal except for sinuses. Hope this helps. Take care.
I am having all of these symptoms - started with the neck pain, then the eye pain, then severe migraine headaches, and now I have jaw pain. My husband thinks I am a hypocondriac! And the migraine pain I swear started in my thigh one night showed up in the side of my chest the next night and then the back of my head!
it could be something not as sinister, in a heart attack there is chest pain, lower jaw pain, dizziness, pain radiating down the armmainly left side, sometimes with heart disease there is a mucasey cough that lasts for months, are you healthy? have you checked your cholesterol? and bp?
Third possibility can be sinusitis due to possible oro-antral fistula after extraction leading to sinus infection. This may lead to dull pain over the cheek area but inability to close eye and tongue involvement may not be explainable with this condition. You may consult an oral surgeon/physician/ neurologist to rule out above stated possibilities who may be able to help you in this regard. Take care.
10 days ago I woke up in the night with severe pain under my skull by my neck and into my right ear. I started taking prednizone and zithromax 3 days ago. Doctor said my neck glands we very swollen and my ears were not draining. I can breath normally and do not feel like it is allergy related. Now I will all of a sudden get a burning pain from the back of my jaws down my throat and into my back. It is burning when I breath and difficult to breath.
In the last month or so i've had sinus pain that comes and goes (gets brought on my a cold or sometimes by crying) this pain is around my eyes, in my upper cheeks under my eyes and my forehead, as well as at the sides of my nose in between my eyes and my nose.
Ever since then, I've developed severe pain in my jaw, first it was just on the left side but now it's on both sides. It constantly hurts even when I'm not moving it and my face feels like it's swollen and tender although there hasn't been any visible signs. When I bite down, there is really severe pain in the back of my jaw, like where my wisdom teeth were. It hurts to open my mouth wide and sometimes my jaw cracks. Sometimes it hurts when I swallow too.
However, I have taken all of the medication, the redness was gone within a couple of days, but now the pain has worsened, even to the point of causing a burning in my jaw by my ear, as it does if I laugh when I have something sour in my mouth. I also have a continuous ear pain and have a headache all day and night. At night it causes me to wake up and the headache is so bad I feel sick to my stomach. It hurts worse to lay on my right side also.
Last spring I was suffering from neck pain that led to headaches. The neck pain had been there from the previous fall but not the headaches. Then I started feeling pressure in my forehead, went to the doctor they did a cat scan and I had a really bad sinus infection.Lasted for about 3 weeks, went to the ears for another two weeks and finally disappeared! A couple of days went by feeling pretty good then all of the sudden felt an extreme head pressure and a swelling in the side of neck!
I just finished my second adjustment and I feel tons better!! No neck, shoulder, face or jaw pain. However most of my pain is from TMD, so you could be a little different.
