At the same time I have swollen neck glands and pain in the back of my neck. Are these problems related? The pain is almost too much to bare and happens much more frequently than I like. Over the counter drugs dont help much. A hot shower directed to the back of the neck helps most but is only temporary. These symptoms usually last a week at a time. Can anyone help....
Does anyone know if sinus and neck pain are connected. I havs chronic sinus, especially with all the pollen and have recently began having pain in my neck, mostly on one side running up to the hairline.
It started with a head cold and turned into a sinus infection. I have severe pain in my face, and in the top and back of head and neck. I have nausea and vertigo and pressure/ringing in my ears. I have taken 3 courses of anti biotics which did nothing. I had a CT scan which showed nothing. I went to see a ENT who said that he couldnt find any evidence of sinus disiese and told me that my face/neck pain and headaches is not related to sinus !
Experimenting with sleeping positions that are comfortable for your back and neck can avoid creating new neck pain and back pain. Gentle massage with oil and hot compression will help. I suggest you to consult physician. Take care and regards.
I am constantly having reoccuring sinusitus...or so the doctors say. It always feels like the flu or strep (achy neck & back, nasal drip, sore throat, tired, headache, run down) but then I go to the doctors and my strep tests are negative and they say its not the flu....do Sinus Infections cause achiness in the neck/back? I don't really feel clogged in the head/nose...so I am confused....should I see another doctor or take it for what its worth? Any advice?
I have had neck and back pain for the past few weeks. I also noticed that my shoulders are uneven and my neck is almost always tilted to either side-just a little bit but enough to be noticable. Should I worry about it or will it correct itself in time? I'm on crutches, could that have helped cause it?
Ok so im a 20 year old female living in canada, and i have been having this strange pain in the back right side of my head. Everytime i swallow it hurts. If I **** my head to the left and stretch my neck while opening my mouth, my ear will pop and it sort of relieves the pain in my head. Is this sinus related or is it more serious? Thanks a bunch!
can a sinus infection cause the back of your neck and left side of your head to hurt and make it hard to swallow without pain and also make it hard to turn your head
For almost a year, I have had really bad headaches, lightheadedness, muscle tenderness in my neck and back and back pain. I have gone to the emergency room, primary care doctor, and physical therapy. My pcd sent me to a ent because of my headaches and lightheadedness thinking it was sinus/ear related. Had a CT scan of the sinuses and found nothing. Physical therapy has done nothing. I just don't know where to go. Does anyone have any ideas what it may be or whom I should see next??
While I have been recovering from the sinus surgery though, I have had to sleep with two/three pillows to keep my head propped up above my heart (per doctor's order) and so I am wondering if this has cause a strain in my back/neck and is causing all this pain, or if it could be something more serious. Your answers and advice are greatly appreciated.
But then after a few months I had extremely severe pain form between the tooth and my maxillary sinus on that side, and then pain back to my jaw, and below my jaw down my neck with swollen lymph nodes. Plus when I bite down that tooth and only that tooth hurts. Well, the dentist took new bite wing X-rays and didn't see an abscess or anything and gave me Amoxil which completely elminated the severe pain in 5 days...

I have a terrible cold, and my neck and back of head are absolutely killing me. I can litterally feel the back of my head pulsating..feel like my eyes are going to bug out of my head. Still haven't heard a word from my dr, but it has been confirmed by two other drs that I have this..not sure why he is in denial about it all :( Is there anything I should worry about? Is there anything I can do to stop this pain? I have tried tylenol and advil..nothing is helping!
I have had ringing in my ears for about 8 months, it's worse at night, I have terrible neck I shoulder pain, back pain on right side under scapula, as well as my lower back which I have had for some years.. My lips are numb, sometimes my face, my hands & arms become numb when washing my hair or having my arms upward, I have some congestion, use nasal rinse every morning & nasal spray. I often wake up with heachaches behind the eyes, which are different from my migraines.
I was on a broad anti-biotic and then roxythromicyn for the bronchitis, which made the face pressure / pain and neck pain get better for a while, but now they are back again. As I said, I've never had any sinus problems, so I dont know if this is what I have? I dont have a runny nose or post nasal drip. Just pressure which comes and goes behind my nose, pressure which comes and goes under my eyes, always feeling like my nose is slightly blocked, and pain in the back of my neck.
Although the bronchitus is fine I don't feel well yet. I don't know if I am just parranoid. I had this back pain upper right wich bothered me alot but it only hurts when I sit for a long time in front of the computer though. I went to the Dr. who did full blood tests and told me he found nothing wrong. (This started a year ago) I got the bronchitus and since then have been coughing up alot of phlem. With the bronchitus I had very bad sinus pain.
I've been having a lot of ear and sinus blockage and had a doctor tell me that it's possible that my involuntary neck tremors are due to my sinus problems? I've been going on with this stuff all summer and it seems like allergies and sinuses are like an across the board answer for doctors and I just don't know if I feel like buying it anymore. I'd like some feedback. Anything would help! p.s. I'm in zero pain and have no fever, which is why doctors usually push me to the side.
For the past seven years i have been suffering of swollen eyelids, pain in forehead, pain on sides of head, earaches, pain in back of head, and stiff neck. I have been to several doctors and ents and no one can find anything wrong with me. I am in excrutiating pain. mrsa was found in my sinus, and i have been on anitbiotics for that and it seams it did nothing. I dont know what to do, Im also taking about 20 200mg ibuprofans a day because its the only thing that helps.
For a month now, in the middle of November, I've been feeling cold, tingling and numb sensations in the back my neck, my back and my back down, and even on my face. Then, my mind would start to wander off, this had happened when I was sleeping, and woke up from it. I didn't really know what was wrong. I had so many things running through my mind, I was worried that I might be paralyzed or might have some sort of spinal injury or brain damage.

I am 35 years old, and had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 24. But that's not why I'm posting. My current problem started roughly 3 or 4 years ago. My upper right 1st molar had a filling in it...the filling broke, and the dentist I used to have drilled it out and put a very large filling in. Even since that fateful day, I've had problems on and off. For the first 6 months or so, the tooth was tender and my maxillary sinus would hurt.
However, within the last two weeks I have begun to have several severe headaches a day accompanied by severe neck and shoulder pain. The headaches include pain and stiffness in my jaw, throbbing and pressure behind my eyes which makes visual focus difficult, pain at the base of my skull and at my temples, and aching everywhere else. I have also been having trouble falling asleep and every night I have strange, vivid dreams as if my REM cycle isn't kicking in properly.

Hi M4YOU= I too have the type of neck spasms/pain that start at the back of my neck and radiate into my eyes. Various Dr.s have called this a "classic neck headache", as a result of a serious neck injury 5 yrs. ago. I take Norco and various different muscle relaxants on a daily basis. I started accupuncture a couple of weeks ago. This and massage has helped very much. I also soak in a hot tub every night before bed. When I was first injured, I had physical therapy.
Due to this I thought it may be a nasal drip. Commonly when I feel this happening, I get a pain in the back of my neck as well. Its kind of hard to explain where, but if you go from your ears to the back of your neck - straight in the middle in the back of my neck between my ears. That's where it starts, and when it gets worse it spreads a little bit to the side- around the area where there is a node in my neck - which made me wonder if it was the node itself.
