I have some sudden jaw pain when I chew and open my mouth too wide. I was wondering if there could be a sinus link. I am prone to sinus infections every month. My sinuses feel fine now...
excellent sprinter, but unable to run for more than 4 minutes since I was 10. Jaw, neck, tongue pain, dizziness, nauesa starts 3 minutes after beginning to run. same thing for the last 12 years. I didn't think it was weird, but finally decided it was a problem this year. I just hate not being able to excercise like everybody else. Resting ekg normal, bp normal, constant resting tachycardia ~100-110. Thyroid normal. My cardiologist did a stress test today, and I feel totally scammed.
Two days ago, felt this pain in my jaw I thought it was my wisdom tooth, but as time went by I realized that it was my jaw. When I press on the outter part of my right ear I feel a pain going down my jaw. I can not open my mouth to eat properly or even brush my tongue. When I chew on my the right side of my mouth i get a sharp pain in my jaw. Could this be Neuralgia?
and becasue of the sudden pain it caused me to have an anxiety attack. i havent had one since but the pain seems to be getting worse. My jaw clicks when i open it and my upper teeth feel funny. My ears ring a little sometimes. But i have a pernanment headache now. pain around the sinus area and in the sides and sometimes back of my neck. it wears off with anadin or ibruprofen, but i noticed i was getting heartburn taking many tablets so im just puting up with it at the minuite.
It constantly hurts even when I'm not moving it and my face feels like it's swollen and tender although there hasn't been any visible signs. When I bite down, there is really severe pain in the back of my jaw, like where my wisdom teeth were. It hurts to open my mouth wide and sometimes my jaw cracks. Sometimes it hurts when I swallow too.
had a stabing pain behind left ear, it was between my ear and jaw bone, recently had two teeth pulled near the front. it hurt when i open my mouth and the ice cream made it hurt. I also have a sinus infection and sore throat.
she never responded. Right now I have a cold with sinus issues and my jaw (upper right) hurts if I open my mouth too wide. Am I dying? Thank you.
What are the symptoms of sinusitis? The location of your sinus pain depends on which sinus is affected. Headache when you wake up in the morning is typical of a sinus problem. Pain when your forehead over the frontal sinuses is touched may indicate that your frontal sinuses are inflammed. Infection in the maxillary sinuses can cause your upper jaw and teeth to ache and your cheeks to become tender to the touch.
I'll wake up one day and have my jaw joint hurting (especially when I open my mouth) and not much pain in my cheeks, and then the next day I won't have much pain in my jaw joint but a lot of pain in my cheeks. I've also had a lot of sensitivity to light, occasional feelings of pressure in my forehead, a little bit of soreness and popping in my ears, and occasional mild fevers (e.g. 99.2 or 99.3 degrees) with associated headache.
Jaw like a plane? Head and neck pain and discomfort can run a wide range, being a simple nag to severe radiating pain. These pains can be different from day to day, side to side, or up and down. These variations can cause much confusion for all as to where they stem from and how to fix them. In my practice I see many head and neck and myofacial pain patients who had thought that the pain might have been migraines; sinus and or tension headaches and so on.
I then began to experience slight jaw pain in the area below the ear. Hurts when I chew. Internist xrayed my jaw to rule out TMJ, and that came back negative. He has no other suggestions. I went for about 1 1/2 weeks until this past Monday, with no feeling of fullness or anything. The slight jaw pain was still present. On Monday, it begun to feel not normal again. I don't necessarily have ear fullness, but the area behind my ears near the jaw feels odd inside.
I am fixin' to have endoscopic sinus surgery on August 27th and I have to say I am scared to death. I have heard the horror stories of sinus surgery and am very reluctant about the whole thing. I suffer from extreme sensitivity to weather changes that cause me major headaches. My ENT wants to reduce my enlarged turbinates and give my maxillary sinuses more open area so the pressure isn't so bad for me. Also she wants to fix my deviated septum that has a very large hole through it.
re: your comment about sinus pain on/besie bridge of nose near your eye when chewing or biting down... I have the same problem only I am not pregnant and it's my left side not my right.... was there ever any reply to this? Did you find out what is causing it? I had a virus of some type about a month ago and it left me with a bad cough but that's it. I noticed the pain today and am tryign to figure out what it could be.. .it has me a bit worried. Glad it's not just me though.
I did vestibular therapy for 2 months with almost no relief. In May when allergy season started, everything got worse. I have had nonstop sinus pressure/pain, headache, dizziness, major eye strain, my face is sore, my teeth are sore. At the beginning of July I went to an allergist. He said I was allergic to 3 types of trees, 4 grasses, dust, molds and very mild allergy to cats. He put me on Rhinocort. NO results.
I have extreme pain in my ear that runs along the bottom of my jaw and my throat on the one side. I also have some pain in the very back of my mouth. The pain gets worse when i swallow, smile, chew, yawn etc. I was also running a 99.4 degree temp which isnt normal for me..i normally run low..around 97.4 degrees..The first time I went to the doctor they gave me amoxicillin and told me to use afrin nasal spray and it worked. the 2nd time i went they did nothing and it went away on its own....
after 2 months of acute tonsillitis and antibiotic treatments I am still the same. Feels like something is in my throat every time I swallow, terrible jaw pain, unusual pain, sensation in tongue ear ache...all on the left side! Unbelievable! Have another physical Dr. Appointment on September 12..... Will update then....how is your feeling now?
Sometime that morning, I think I yawned and pulled the muscles in my neck and jaw on my right side. Not thinking too much of it, I waited for the pain to stop. This was last week and it has not subsided. It is sore in my neck to the touch, and the pain radiates into my ear and lower jaw. Neither the jaw or the ear are sore to the touch. My primary care dr. gave me Ceclor for a sinus infection after a few days because it sounded sinus related to her. Has not helped.
If these are infected, you may have pain in your upper jaw, your teeth may ache, and your cheeks may have pain when you touch them. Note: One of the causes of maxillary sinusitis is a tooth abscess that has leaked the infection into the maxillary sinus. The teeth may be X-rayed to find this. • Ethmoid sinuses. If infection occurs, you may get puffy eyes and pain between them. The sides of your nose may get tender to the touch, your nose may get stuffy, and you won’t be able to smell so well.
Bite down on it, does that hurt?, then open your mouth, does it hurt when you open after biting on the q-top? Try this on every tooth in the area that is hurting. See if any of them cause pain. Sometimes a crack in a tooth can be very hard to detect. Let me know what you think. I would be glad to give any help.
Also, my jaw clicks loudly on both sides, first the right and then the left, whenever I open my mouth two fingers width or wider as if it is snapping open. The clicking has been going on since high school. I've gotten good at talking with my mouth only slightly open. Maybe I should take up ventrioloquism. ;-) I'd like to figure this out because I'm trying to get off of anything that causes heatburn so that I don't have to take Prilosec for my asthma.
Saturday afternoon, (while I am writing this) As long as I am in bed not moving, I don’t feel too bad, its when I get up, when the pain starts and when it starts it hurts. Food is still hard to chew as my teeth r very sore and I can’t open my mouth very wide. 5:20p.m. Saturday facial pain is unbearable, gone back to bed... 6:20 p.m.
However, my sister's jaw clicks on both sides when opening her mouth, but she has no other symptoms and no pain. Tmjd does not have to cause any pain for it to be present. Have you had any dental work done recently that has caused the clicking? Is your bite correct? (By that i mean, are your teeth correctly aligned? Do you have an underbite/overbite?) Are you missing any teeth? Have you had braces recently? Have you injured your jaw recently/in past? Do you grind your teeth?
At the time I was having some congestion, ear pain/ache at random times and when I would chew/open my mouth. After taking the antibiotics for a couple days I could feel a ton of fluid sloshing back in my ears when I would move my head side to side. It was still going on, though not as bad when I finished the antibiotics. I called the doctor back and they called me in another antibiotic prescription (Cefuroxime). Two months later, I was still having issues and I went back again.
I told the dental assistans to please be careful with my Jaw when they try closing my mouth again because it locks if it stays open for quite a while. She took note of it but I think she didn't follow my advice. Let me try to summarize my problems and my question. One more thing to note is that the jaw locking has happened since I was about 15 I'm now 27, now there's a pop (after the Wisdom teeth removal) though. 1.
ordered CT scan for next week to see if there is still some type of sinus infection. I still continue to have sinus pain on right side, especially around jaw and can feel pain in my top teeth. I also discharge a LOT of rubbery, thick mucous from the right side of my nose since the surgery...I never had anything close to this consistency before the surgery. Is is possible that I have had some kind of complication from this surgery that would be causing all of these frequent infections?
see if you can open this website. It talks about swollen lymph nodes and size. They say no more than 2 cm for under the neck and should go away in about 2-3 weeks. Mine has been a month too but it is about 1 cm. Since yours was brought probably by a virus it probably is ok. It hasn't grown or gotten bigger has it? They get less painful as they are going to go down. You might want to get it checked anyway if you can. Better to be safe. But I think you are probably ok. See site below. http://66.
the dentist accidently punctured the maxillary sinus cavity when he drilled or cleaned out the nerve with the instruments and it got infected. I have suffered from this sinus business for many years, and had several instances of dental work causing problems with it. I'm not a dentist, but know from experience including my latest one that dental work can often cause, and aggravate these problems.
Through my MRI they found both of my maxillary sinus' have cycts. My Lyme doctor believes alot of my head symptoms including, ear pain, head aches, jaw pain, red eyes, vision problems are due to these sinus cysts. He also believes the Lyme infection is the cause of these cysts. Im not sure if they are going to want to remove them, but i have tried everything from nasonex to antibiotics for treatment. I want to hear if anyone has had them removed and if it has been sucessful for them.
I can sympathize with you all. I myself just recently started experiencing dizziness associated with allergies. I turned 40 this year, and I have suffered from seasonal allergies for about ten years now, but it has never been accompanied with dizziness. I reside in NY and we have been having lots of rain lately, and for the past two weeks I have been experiencing dizziness.
So im woundering if i can do something to help my cat open his jaw again (even just little bit) Orr of place or doctor i can see to help. And if i can how much do u think cost............
