3183999 tn?1344645418 she never responded. Right now I have a cold with sinus issues and my jaw (upper right) hurts if I open my mouth too wide. Am I dying? Thank you.
Avatar m tn t click, nor does it hurt when I chew, tho I am not able to open my jaw that wide. Ibuprofen usually alleviates the pain temporarily and I've been prescribed flexoril (haven't taken it yet). It's been 3 months and the pain hasn't subsided. Does this really sound like TMJ? I should note that I'm usually OK in the morning and as the day progresses, the pain gets worse.
451674 tn?1205658922 It can affect the eyes, ears, jaw, sinus, headaches, muscle aches around the face, neck, shoulder, back and even chest. If you are only getting slight pain when eating you have got it quite early. How far can you open your mouth. Only a trained dentist can tell you, they will probably make a splint for your mouth to help relieve any muscle tension. Do you clench or grind your teeth?
Avatar m tn -jaw ache (sometimes feels like it is my tongue) -No real jaw pain, i can open my mouth fully but it hurts to do it all the way and the back of my jaw crunches and can click -When i open my mouth, my jaw seems to open slightly to the right (not straight down), and if i clench my mouth open and point my chin forward the back of my skull hurts and a tendon/nerve sticks out on my neck and does a jig! - I've also had a problem with eye floaters?
Avatar f tn My ears were badly clogged and I used to move my jaw, which sometimes helped my ears pop open. The ears popped open long ago but I hear myself loudly in one ear and there is some jaw stiffness and a feeling of pressure in the nose bridge. The sound in that particular ear is also very sensitive. It's driving me nuts. Could it still be some lingering sinus issue ? Or tmj ?

Avatar n tn Also, you might go to a dentist specializing in TMJ disorders or a maxillofacial specialist, because a problem with the jaw is strongly suspect with headache on the side with jaw pain. Do you clench or grind your teeth when you sleep? I'm a clencher myself and I have both joints with arthritis and joint disc dislocations, with one of them out of place even when I open my mouth (called without reduction, I believe).
Avatar n tn good day i am 27 years old and have developed sinus over the years, with the change of seasons i sometimes experience discomfort in my face like the nose area and eye area when the wind blows my eyes get teary and i seem to cough, and about a few months ago i went to a doctor and he explained that there is swelling in my jaw appearently i have some sort of an overbite which is causing some skewness in my mouth, he gave my muscle relaxers to ease the pain, but the sinus pain aswell as the jaw
Avatar f tn Definitely could be an ear infection/sinus infection. However, I would ask if your jaw pops at all when you open it? It could be TMJ as well. I suffered with TMJ for a while before I found out what it was from a dentist.
Avatar f tn I have been have episodes of left chest pain and jaw pain for about 2 months. I have had a stress echo which was normal. I had a cardiac ct with calcium scoring in which my calcium score was 0 and my arteries were clear ( they couldn't see my right coronary artery completely but they assured me it wasn't my heart). I have been on Nexium for my stomach and have been referred to a GI doctor but I continue to have this pain and jaw tightness.
Avatar n tn hi dr....left side of my face feel stiff when i moved my muscle or jaw...i can see some nerve moving when i try to move my jaw...the stiffness come from the chick side of my face or beside my nose...i went to doctor and doctor said is due to infection because i has flu at the same time...i used to develop bell's palsy as well...what actually happen to me? is that an infection or something else?...hope to get reply soon....
Avatar m tn It sounds as if you may have TMJ.Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome is hard to diagnose and will cause excuriating pain. Here are just some of the symptoms... Pain in the facial muscles and jaw joints may radiate to the neck or shoulders. Joints may be overstretched. You may experience muscle spasms from TMJ syndrome. You may feel pain every time you talk, chew, or yawn. Pain usually appears in the joint itself, in front of the ear, but it may move elsewhere in the skull, face, or jaw.
730826 tn?1317943334 Your sinuses are normally air filled cavities in your skull (to make it lighter) and there is a large one above your upper jaw. Sometimes if you have long teeth roots they protrude into the sinuses so that when you have an infection they ache. Do you get any relief or alternatively pain, when you press on your cheek bones? The symptoms may just be related to the virus that you have. It may have turned into a secondary infection. You may need to get some antibiotics.
146298 tn?1258712247 They go from my eye to my jaw and specific points of pain are jaw, base of skull, top of skull, behind ear, where shoulder meets neck. When I have such a headache I am very dizzy, technically it's vertigo. After the ache has begun my nostril slowly closes itself and adds a bit to the pressure, but I've had sinus headaches and this is different. Something in my head seems to be swelling and blocking the nasal passage rather than the nasal passage being blocked and causing the pain.
Avatar m tn They went away for good and have not had a headache or symptoms since. Now that I am pregnant again, I have no headaches, but only a pain when I sneeze in that same area. No other symptoms. I have been sneezing a lot more lately.. as in allergies or something. Is this sinus or pregnancy related or something I need to see a doctor for? Thanks!
Avatar f tn •Pain or tenderness in your face, jaw joint area, neck and shoulders, and in or around the ear when you chew, speak, or open your mouth wide •Problems when you try to open your mouth wide •Jaws that get "stuck" or "lock" in the open- or closed-mouth position •Clicking, popping, or grating sounds in the jaw joint when you open or close your mouth or chew. This may or may not be painful.
Avatar f tn If I press on the space between my ear and jaw it hurts. When I open my mouth super wide, I hear/feel the slightest pop/crack noise on the left side of my jaw. I went to see the doctor today, he gave me some meds for a sinus infection and pain medication but the pain meds aren't working too well. Right now, it's a very dull ache, but I know the severe pain will come again.
Avatar n tn I then went to my dentist yesterday for an exam. The tooth and jaw pain is significantly worse when I lay down or bend down. Also, if I drink anything hot or cold. My upper 6 front teeth are part of a bridge. He did an x-ray of those teeth and did not see anything immediate. All pain is on the right side. He made me a mouthpiece to try for few days at night to see if I am clenching/grinding my teeth.
Avatar n tn It was healing ok but 5 days ago while biting a sandwich my jaw made a loud popping sound and since then i am not able to open my mouth more than an inch. i also have alot of swelling. What coul this be?
Avatar f tn Usually with tooth pain, it is triggered by touch or cold/hot. Generally pain isn't caused when you lie down or move your head around. When you have a sinus infection, on an x-ray, you get a cloudy appearance of the sinus, indicated fluid build up in the area. When you move around (or lie down), the fluid moves around and causes pain. Also, you said you've been having congestion problems.
Avatar n tn My mouth will not open and close evenly and when I lay down my jaw locks up and I can’t open my mouth. When I’m up it always pops on the right side opening and closing my mouth while talking and chewing. I would like to know why it does this and what is causing this and if it can be treated. I am in pain everyday with this problem and it is very frustrating. It started a few years ago and it is getting worse. Please help!! Thanks!!
Avatar n tn I dont feel any pain until i open my jaw more than half way. My ear feels like theres a lot of fluid in it. I was thinking it might be an ear infection. But why would my jaw really hurt to open more than half way? It doesnt hurt when I chew either. Does anyone know what I might have?
Avatar n tn Since October, I have had inner ear pain, neck and jaw pain, and sometimes shoulders and facial pain as well. I also get headaches and sore spots on my head at times.
Avatar n tn Sometime that morning, I think I yawned and pulled the muscles in my neck and jaw on my right side. Not thinking too much of it, I waited for the pain to stop. This was last week and it has not subsided. It is sore in my neck to the touch, and the pain radiates into my ear and lower jaw. Neither the jaw or the ear are sore to the touch. My primary care dr. gave me Ceclor for a sinus infection after a few days because it sounded sinus related to her. Has not helped.
