singulair

920032 tn?1550680156 However, it seems to me that a pill taken once a day over a nasal spray that has to be used every 4 hours would be a better choice to try. However, atrovent is very cheap compared to Singulair. OH - I just assumed you were talking about the nasal spray Atrovent, but you could be using a neb or for now an MDI (will be off the market soon with the CFC ban). Which are you using? You could also try NasalCrom. That is an OTC nasal mast cell stabilizer which works really well.
Avatar f tn t tried yet, I tried the fenofexadine (allegra) 180mg a day, it works ok but I felt so tired the whole, even when I took it at bedtime and sometimes flushed for a few minutes where I felt as if I was having an allergic reaction. I was on it for a month taking it twice a day and my back and muscles hurt so much, I felt drowsy all day. Allergic asthma is difficult.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Symbicort since January (2 pumps, twice a day), as prescribed and I have not run into any trouble. I have caught common colds that cleared up and went away (not the case in previous years). Advair did not work well for me. I have viral asthma, so I would normally end up with breathing difficulties (because of fluid, etc. in my lungs). I feel great and have had no side effects. I am very active.
Avatar n tn Do this pranayam, twice a day, and your lungs will improve gradually. The extra oxygen going into the lungs will help very much. Allow weeks to feel the benefit, then continue the pranayam once a day, after you are better. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Avatar f tn Yes, I have tried singulair twice but with no improvement.
Avatar m tn I am using the same thing and I am using one respule per bottle and rinsing twice a day. I'm also on singulair, zyrtec, patanase, and a steroid nose inhaler. I wonder if I used more of the pulmicort if I could cut down on some of the other meds?? Is anyone else taking all of these meds??
212161 tn?1599427282 I am now switching back to asmanex but im going to try 110 twice a day. Depending on how thigns go i might move back up to 220 once a day. I have to honestly say that Asmanex worked really really well for me. I have mild to moderate asthma. I have had asthma for nine years. For seven years I was on Pulmicort 200 twice a day until the company changed their product to flexhailer. The flexhailer just didnt work like the turbuhalor.
Avatar f tn albuterol (the emergency inhaler), Singulair (I take 10mg once every night), and one puff twice a day of Dulera with a chamber (I always rinse afterwards). It seems like a lot of meds. I’ve been on Singulair and albuterol for a few weeks, and I’ve been taking Dulera for about a week now. I guess I’m just worried that those meds shouldn’t be taken as much as I’m taking them/together in the first place.
Avatar f tn The cromolyn did not feel as stong as singulair and needed repeated dosages through out the day. A good suggestion. A very gentle medication that does work very well for some. I am not sure about long term usage of cromolyn longer than 2 years. You would need to talk to the doctor about long term usage. There was something I thought on the information sheet about long term usage over many years. But I could be wrong, it was a while ago.
Avatar n tn Hi...I have never heard of that med, but in research see it is used for reflux and gerd jut like the meds I am aware of. The dr will RX meds for the mgs and dosage ( times per day) per ur symptoms and how much healing u need.....I am on a gerd med and take it twice a day..... If u also modify ur diet and lifestyle u may heal a bit faster and be able to cut back on teh dosage faster.
Avatar f tn s been hospitalized a few times with bronchiolitis when he was 1 years old. The typical treatment has been 2ce a day pulmicort and 3xs a day to every 4 hours of albuterol. If that didn't work they would add predisone and sometimes zithromax. And those combos knocked it out. Well he now has 3 weeks of a rattling cough that just doesn't go away. They said no wheeze and we've been doing the pulmicort and albuterol. Well it isnt' helping. So the ped feels we'll add Singulair.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Singulair for a few months now and I haven't noticed any negative side effect. I take it along with a daily inhaler for my asthma and it really has helped me a lot.
Avatar m tn i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
Avatar m tn I have mild asthma. I do not use inhalers at this time. I'm a singer, age 62 in generally good health. My allergy season is January through March in Arizona. It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications.
460830 tn?1347219306 What was the problem with Singulair a while back? I heard something about it, but I never heard what the problem was with it.
Avatar m tn He takes singulair, flonaise, zyrtec, and pulmicort through a nebulizer twice a day on a daily basis. He has been through so much in his last year and a half. I just put him in play school and on his first day I can tell that the air conditioner is triggering his asthma. He began wheezing that night. And now two days later he has a full blown cold and I am doing albuterol around the clock. I hate all the meds and reading about the side effects makes me feel sick.
Avatar f tn What antihistamines have you used? It wasn't an antihistamine with a decongestant or Benadryl was it? Singulair can be used for Allergic Rhinitis like you have, however, this is usually prescribed for someone with Asthma issues secondary to Allergic Rhinitis. What nasal steroid are you using? Most of them can be used long term.
Avatar f tn Started as a small little cough. Next day still a small cough but had trouble breathing at practice and needed an inhaler. Took him to the dr the following day and his lungs sounded good. Dr tried to trigger something by having him jog in the office for about 10 mins...he was fine. Dr told me to give him claritin every day through fall and use the ventolin if he needed it sometimes. 2 days later took him to the dr for fever, cough and sore throat. He had strep.
Avatar n tn He has been taking Zyrtec (Cetirizine) 5ml twice a day (5ml in the morning and 5ml in the Evening) but still it does not help. Also he takes 10ml of Atarax Syrup at night before going to bed, His itching is so severe and it really bothers him all night; he goes to bed around 4 or 5 in the morning sometimes at 6:00 AM and of course misses school. I just need a Really Good Doctor who can diagnose him correctly. Can I try Benadryl.
150689 tn?1333990045 HAs a Dr. suggested Singulair as well as steroid nasal spray well before allergy season? Welcome to our Community!
Avatar f tn The Dr gave me antibiotic (amox) and singulair to take along with Clariton D. I took a 5mg dose of the Singulair but have now read a listing of side effects a mile long. My hands and feet sweaty and I am on edge. I should have read before I took the pill bc now I am worse than I was before. I cant find how long it stays in your system but I do see half life is 2.7-5.5 hrs. Does anyone know what "half life" means...and would that mean in 5.4-11hrs it will no longer be effective?
Avatar f tn In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime. Since I've been taking the medication, I have experienced upper respiratory tract infections, sinus infections, rash (bumps on chest and shoulders), blurred vision and extreme hoarseness. My voice was limited to a slight wisper smh.
