Over the past few months I have tried to get back into running. I used to run frequently, always training for a 5k, 10k, or half-marathon, so not sprinting. I have never had a problem with my heart rate or my blood pressure, but now I do.
I am 25 years old and have been struggling with tachycardia and fatigue issues for 4 years. I have no family history of such problems, don't have any history of substance abuse, no history of mental illness, have a normal weight, non-smoker and do not have any other known underlying conditions.
My son takes pulmicort .5 nebulizer twice a day, and singulair 5mg once a day. His pediatrician sent him to a pediatric cardiologist who placed him on an event monitor for 24 hours. He said the results were normal with an average rate of 104 and the highest being 157. He has since had 3 normal ekgs and currently has an event monitor on. His pulse has been no higher than 132 for the last few days. When it was 130 ' I recorded it and sent it off to the dr.
i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Always thirsty even after gulping bottles of water. Inactive physically and mentally. Become even more inferior in social gatherings and activities. Can't even meet minimum commitments and thus affects career and personal, family relationships.
After dropping Everything became normal after 8 - 10 days.

There has been some preliminary research that suggests that it may be helpful in patients who have a cardiomyopathy, or damage to their heart, specifically secondary to tachycardia; the term for this is a tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy. However, there is no data to show that it’s helpful in preventing in SCD, especially in CPVT.
I was advair, ventolin, atrovent, singulair, antihistamines you name it. I was starting to get my allergies under control so I was still getting symptoms from the leftover inflammation and gunk left in my lungs but the typical "asthma twitchiness" wasn't there. This led the pulmonalogist to say I didn't have asthma. He left me with my ventolin prescription and lots of refills, few refills for the advair inhaler but said to try and reduce it.
I see many folks are experiencing side effects from Singulair. So am I ... I think. I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now.
My son started taking Singulair in Oct.2012, and then he started complaining about his leg, some kind of weird sensation. He called itchy feeling, but it was something he could not scratch away, something underneath the skin. He kept asking me to punch his leg with a 5-pound dumbbell. He wakes up twice or three times per night. He puts some hard things under his leg, and put press on it. He does it almost every night. He can't get enough sleep.
I have alot to say about Singulair but none of it is good, unfortunately. My son was on Singulair for 3 yrs. I finally recognized the side effects he was having and discontinued. He suffered from leg pain, stomach pain, irritability, anxiety, quick to tears, easily frustrated and excessively fearful. At the age of 7, his dosage was increased to 5mg. At that point, it became very clear he was suffering side effects. All of the side effects I mentioned above were multipled x 10.
PLEASE HELP Let me add that she is NOT in tears because the Singulair has made her depressed, we heard all about that in the news. She is in tears because of the agony she's in because of how BAD her arms and legs feel all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!
My daughter is on Singulair and just finished a short course of Prednisone. On her 4th day [last day] of Prednisone, her legs and arms started to feel very weak and heavy and numb[she said they felt "thick"].
I take singulair and doxepin perscribed by my allergist to control hives. I sometimes breakout with red pimple sores that hurt. A medical friend said the sores look like spider bites, but I'm sure they aren't. Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.

Also, a 24 hour antihistamine, Allegra is the best then Zyrtec then Clariton, take any of the 3 that you can tolerate.
Your T cells are probably out of wack, your immune system... my story may help...
ive always had asthma but it has been controlled by singulair. i rarely ever have to take my inhaler. now that im pregnant it some how triggered my asthma and singulair isnt helping at all. i have taken my inhaler a lot and that stops my wheezing but is it safe for the baby for me to be taking the inhaler this much?
Stopped taking Singulair 3 weeks ago after having taken for 15 months. Stopped abruptly because of chest tightness, nightmares, fearful thoughts, heart palpitations, insomnia and panic attacks. The advserse side effects started gradually over the past month and then all were happening. Now these same side effects come in waves. Chest tightness stopped for several days as did insomnia. Now having anxiety and fearful thoughts. It was I Sonia last week.
It may be a good idea to get a sports watch so you can get a proper read on how fast it is going. Do you recall if you had the concerning tachycardia while you had the holter monitor on? Certain tachycardias are only diagnosed once they are captured on a monitor. Until then the doctors really will write it off as dehydration or stress. Dehydration is a possibility if you do not drink a lot of water. So try drinking some more and see if it helps.
