Avatar m tn Whoa, Nelly. Regardless of whethr or not you use Singulair you absolutely positively MUST always carry around an emergency albuterol sulfate inhaler. MUST. Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred dollars. While these cost as much as sixty dollars each in the United States Wal-Mart had a generic brand for sale (in store only) for less than ten dollars. I also question the use of a blood pressure medication for anyone suffering asthmatic attacks unless absolutely positively necessary.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
Avatar m tn i hope this message reaches other parents with children on singulair. not all children have side effects but if your does, it may be difficult to realize it is the drug.

Avatar f tn PLEASE HELP Let me add that she is NOT in tears because the Singulair has made her depressed, we heard all about that in the news. She is in tears because of the agony she's in because of how BAD her arms and legs feel all the time!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter is on Singulair and just finished a short course of Prednisone. On her 4th day [last day] of Prednisone, her legs and arms started to feel very weak and heavy and numb[she said they felt "thick"].
370736 tn?1247242917 On Fri I spoke to my RE and he said that I should listen to him or my OB about the singulair thing and not listen to the genetic counselor. He said that he would recommend taking the singulair and not the Advair. Well I stopped taking both and so far so good. Everybody said the Albuterol is okay...it's been tested for years. Good luck to you and I hope you don't get such conflicting views...so far I have 3 for Singulair and 1 for Advair...good luck!
Avatar n tn I have been taking singulair for a couple of years now and have all of a sudden developed a head tremor.
620048 tn?1358018235 I am sort of at a loss again and have not felt like typing on here on here. I have not disappeared ....just not up to it. hugs.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar f tn My 3 year old daughter gets bad colds with coughing and slight weezing atleast 3 or 4 times out of the year. Her doctor has always perscribed albuterol and budesonide through a nebulizer. This time around when I took her he added Singulair and Prednisolone. He hasn't actually diagnosed her with asthma but her father and uncle both have it. Could she be getting it also and what kind of test should she get to see if she has asthma. Any suggestions would really help.
Avatar m tn hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Always thirsty even after gulping bottles of water. Inactive physically and mentally. Become even more inferior in social gatherings and activities. Can't even meet minimum commitments and thus affects career and personal, family relationships. After dropping Everything became normal after 8 - 10 days.
Avatar m tn He stopped taking Singulair in Nov.2013, but his muscle problems remained. I am not 100% sure whether it was caused by Singulair and if yes how long he will have to wait until the effect is gone. Could this be Churg-Strauses? As parents, we are VERY worried. He needs sleep. He used to play sports, just like other boys, but now he can't do anything. He is tired all the time. Could you please contact me at ***@**** if you have any info? Please help save my son!
Avatar f tn He also has reflux although he takes zantac for this im not sure if that could be the cause of his stomache pain or not. He has been such a sick child and singulair sounds like it was made just for him, however ,has awful sideaffects.I want to help my son but at what cost im not sure.PLEASE HELP!!!!
Avatar f tn is there another medicine similar to singulair that doesn't have the bad side effects
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, For almost a year now I'm suffering from light headaches (in forehead, but exact location differs a lot), post nasal drip (intensity differs) when I swallow and a very low pitched tinnitus. Although I'm not sure when this low tinnitus started and where it came from.
Avatar f tn She is being referred to a pulmonologist now due to the some of her meds not working well. She is experienceing wheezing a bit but not really the heavy coughing this time. Its wierd. Her doctor has been closely watching her and put her on symbicort and the proventil hfa, and singulair. thanks for the heating pad tip!
Avatar n tn I have had allergy problems all my life and have tried almost every medication out there (OTC and prescription) until I was prescribed Singulair which worked. But, I lost my health coverage and stopped taking it for almost a year. I was recently put back on it (about a month ago) because I have been quiet sick for over 2 months now. The doctors said it was allergies, but I'm starting to wonder because the Singulair should be working in full by now, and I'm still sick.
Avatar f tn Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.
1135961 tn?1279145314 They may also try taking you off the singulair and putting you on Zyflo. It is not commonly used, but it is an excellent drug. As to the claritin...that is an antihistamine. Singulair is one also; so you would be double treating one symptom. You should not take OTC meds when you have asthma without a doctor saying it is OK. Also a humidifier is contraindicated for people with asthma as it puts too much moisture in the air.
