460830 tn?1347219306 What was the problem with Singulair a while back? I heard something about it, but I never heard what the problem was with it.
Avatar m tn i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
920032 tn?1550680156 lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
Avatar n tn I recently discovered by accident that I have NO symptoms of PLE after taking 10mg of Singulair 2 hours before going into the sun. My allergiest prescribed Singulair for my season allergies not for PLE. But trust me it works! I have suffered with this for 20 years. Good luck!
Avatar m tn It is a lot of medicine, but the side effects from the inhaled meds are minimal as very little of the medicine (<1/100th of an oral dose) gets into the general system where it would cause side effects. His dr might have other suggestions for tweaking his meds as well. Home schooling is also an option and might be worth it to protect his health.
Avatar f tn I have an appointment in 2 weeks with my primary doctor, but I was prescribed these medications by a different doctor who was filling in... albuterol (the emergency inhaler), Singulair (I take 10mg once every night), and one puff twice a day of Dulera with a chamber (I always rinse afterwards). It seems like a lot of meds. I’ve been on Singulair and albuterol for a few weeks, and I’ve been taking Dulera for about a week now.
Avatar f tn I started taking singulair and almost immediately started to have insomnia and horrible nightmares. I feel as though I am going to die, suffocate and not wake up. It is extremely depressing. I have had my left arm into my hand go completely numb and trying to figure out why, has led me to this posting. I had a similar experience taking prednisone-becoming so depressed and fearful. This experience with singulair mimics that of the prednisone issues.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind right now. My preventive asthma medication seems to cause nausea and general cloudiness when I take them. When I stop taking them, the dizziness stops so I know that it's the cause. I've tried a handful of different medicines like Flovent, Dulera, Qvar, Advair, Pulmicort and even Singulair and they all cause this nauseating effect. I'm wondering if any of you know what this might be and any way to stop it.
Avatar f tn PLEASE HELP Let me add that she is NOT in tears because the Singulair has made her depressed, we heard all about that in the news. She is in tears because of the agony she's in because of how BAD her arms and legs feel all the time!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter is on Singulair and just finished a short course of Prednisone. On her 4th day [last day] of Prednisone, her legs and arms started to feel very weak and heavy and numb[she said they felt "thick"].
Avatar n tn I went and seen a doctor about this and was told I have allergies, I was perscribed the generic for singulair for 10 days, and zyrtec for about 2 weeks to see if I got better. I opted to take the medicine at night (tonight)...and i can't sleep and my throat is so dry even after water. I really dis like medicine...I get anxious...what are some other options to feel better?... HELP!
Avatar f tn Two that would not affect your heart rate would be an inhaled steroid, such as Flovent® HFA Inhalation Aerosol (fluticasone propionate) or another medicine taken by mouth Singulair® (montelukast sodium). You should ask your doctor about these. Good luck.
620048 tn?1358018235 Are you on support asthma medicine inhalers as well as rescue? I am on symbacort and singulair which makes a big difference. I know when I forget my singulair pill. I know I am slowly progressing but I have worse times than others.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
7730563 tn?1393781747 I have had asthma for the last 5 years and was on singulair daily and I also have an albuterol inhailer but I stopped taking them when I found out I was pregnant. I have been fine with my breathing until yesterday. I'm getting this nasty cold and I can feel the tightening in my chest. The doctor told me to start my meds but they are class b and c medications. Singulair said its safe but there is no human studies..... It doesn't sound safe to me.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I would suggest seeking care in an academic medical center which has strong programs in sleep medicine and pulmonary medicine to sort out what is going on before making further recommendations. One suggestion for this evaluation is going to Denver to be seen at National Jewish Health which specializes in these types of problems.

Avatar n tn I am currently taking Allegra-D and Singulair for my allergies. My doctor had prescribed me to Pata-a-Day Eye Drops as well, but they became too expensive and weren't working very well, so i switch to an over the counter brand. My medicine is obviously not working very great either. Does anyone know of an effective treatment that will help me with this? Thanks.
Avatar m tn m trying to sleep. It even makes me feel as if I have indigestion. Is there a good medicine I can take for this?
