Avatar n tn Her Pulmonary dr. put her on Singulair for a month and gave her an inhaler for emergencies. The Singulair has given her a stomach ache, nausea, for over 2 weeks now. We are waiting on a visit to a different Pulmonologist, as requested by the pediatrician. It doesn't sound like allergies or asthma that I have heard other people describe. Her pediatrician said it could be sinus drip or reflux, yet again she has no other symptoms. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn I take zyrtec, singulair, flonase and astepro for the allergies and sinus. My ENT is stumped. How can I get my taste and smell back?
Avatar n tn Antibiotics sometimes don't work for sinus infections, because sinus infections differ than other types of infections, and anyway, soon, a large swath of bacteria strains will be antibiotic-resistant. The Flip-Turn Sinus Flush verifies a Mayo Clinic discovery about the true nature of some sinus infections, but I will not recommend it until you have gone through your other meds. http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
Avatar f tn What do you find Singulair did for you? I found that, for me, it did nothing.
Avatar f tn The past few months of sicknesses has been the worst. He was on prednisone 3 more times and still while on Singulair. Now he is on Flovent and Singulair hoping to keep his wheezing under control. But he remains with this wet cough. It's from the asthma. Has your son ever had wheezing? The Singulair is pretty safe although it can have sleeping side effects. We have to give to him at night right b-4 bed or it keeps him up. It has helped, but just not enough.
Avatar f tn I have had repeat sinus infections, I had sinus surgery 4 years ago and that seemed to really improve the sinus infections but I still get bronchitis several (2-3) times a year, last month I was diagnosed with pnemonia (this is the second time I have had it in the last 5 years) I had no idea, just a lingering annoying cough, I even ran a 10 mile run with it and felt fine, they started me on antibiotics because my Dr. didnt like how my cough sounded.
Avatar f tn I am 62 and have a history of sinus infections, sinus congestion, headaches/pressure and allergy symptoms(sneezing, itchy eyes,et.c). I also have enlarged tonsils and have had tonsilitis over the ears. I often take antibiotics for these infections and they clear. That can average at least 3 or 4 times per year.
Avatar f tn Half life basically means how long it takes for half of the drug to be eliminated from your body/bloodstream. Also, remember any medication you take will have a list of side effects a mile long. If you search the side effects of any pill on the internet of course it will scare the you know what out of you. For example, if I looked up the potential side effects of the Motrin I took yesterday, I would probably never take it again.
Avatar f tn It was then that I researched the side effects of my prescribed drugs and determined that I should stop taking the Singulair. My doctor prescribed a replacement for Singulair, and within a month the numbness went away. Over the past few months I have tried to get back into running. I used to run frequently, always training for a 5k, 10k, or half-marathon, so not sprinting. I have never had a problem with my heart rate or my blood pressure, but now I do.
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
Avatar m tn g montelukast, ventolin inhaler and symbicort. Xray for the sinus and chest were also ordered which resulted to bilateral nasal congestion and clear chest. The problem is, I have been experiencing symptom of dizziness. Its been a month now and I could not take it anymore. As if I am floating always. Please, could you help me with my concern?. . Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn Last November I had endoscopic sinus surgery to clear my sinuses and deviated seputum fixed. I was great for 7 months! Then in June I got a sinus headache and my life has not been the same. I have been to the family doctor, the ENT, allergies and now I am going to a neurologist. My symptoms are burning sensation in cheeks leading to ears and teeth. Throbbing pain in my nose (like pulse or heatbeat), constant headache, darck circles under eyes and severe post nasal drip.
Avatar f tn I am a mother of a 26 year daughter who recently pulled the plug on taking a daily dose of Singulair (it was generic) after over a year. It was used as a maintenance treatment for chronic allergies and sinus infections. Seemed to work ok, however in the 6 months there had been a couple times she rushed herself to the doctor for symptoms that no one even thought to suspect the allergy medication. First there was numbing and tingling in her arms.
Avatar f tn Pred helped briefly, but after weens off, pressure builds up again. Tried sinus irrigations daily, allergy meds ( singulair, claritin, flonase, nasonex, allegra). He does not think this is allergy-related (he never gets congestion, sneezing, post-nasal drip, ect. Hx of exercised-induced asthma (no asthma problems otherwise). No sig. med hx. Alt. approaches tried(no help) He's left the state to deduct any environmental allergies/causes.
Avatar f tn I hope to hear from you soon. I would like to hear what other people do for their chronic allergy sinus infections. Have a good day.
Avatar f tn There's really no reliable way to get rid of a fungal infection except for surgery, if you are lucky, or the Flip-Turn Sinus Flush, which works great, but which you can't do. http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/2322 Occasionally Google: Dr. Jens Ponikau, as he has the patent on developing an anti-fungal for sinuses, he'll probably succeed someday soon. And get some second opinions, maybe there's a doc who's found another way.
Avatar m tn This is after on and off sinus infections (or what I think are sinus infections) for months. Antibiotics (Augmentin) have done the trick in the past, but after 20 days my PCP sent me to a different ENT (saw one in April, had CAT scan, didn't show sinus infection) and he is now treating me for allergies with Flonase, Singulair and Claritin. But in the meantime I have this daily sinus pressure and it's very hard to get anything up (mucus) and out.
Avatar m tn Thanks For the reply In fact my inlaws will be taking the cats for 6 months to see if there is any relief. I will check into the Singulair. I dont think it is Fromeldahyde because we have moved twice and no change in condition. Just a skin test was preformed, but I will look into blood testing.
Avatar m tn I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar m tn i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Singulair for a few months now and I haven't noticed any negative side effect. I take it along with a daily inhaler for my asthma and it really has helped me a lot.
