singulair

Avatar f tn What do you find Singulair did for you? I found that, for me, it did nothing.
Avatar n tn Eyesight is just about the first thing to be affected. Not uncommon for pilots flying at night, even in a pressurized airplane, to take a few whiffs of 100% O2 before starting descent for landing USAF pilots/aircrew get refresher physiological training every three years including exposure to high altitude--25,000 feet if I remember right--with oxygen off, and start to do simple tasks that require them to think.
Avatar m tn hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Always thirsty even after gulping bottles of water. Inactive physically and mentally. Become even more inferior in social gatherings and activities. Can't even meet minimum commitments and thus affects career and personal, family relationships. After dropping Everything became normal after 8 - 10 days.
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
1398166 tn?1358870523 The FAA is a good organization and they try to do their best in issueing waivers. They ground pilots for good reasons. Not to be mean or evil. Confidentiality regarding their individual decisions is important to them. Maybe it should be or shouldn't be, but it is. Waivers to specific medical requirements are in the form of a "statement of demonstrated ability".
Avatar m tn I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar m tn i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Singulair for a few months now and I haven't noticed any negative side effect. I take it along with a daily inhaler for my asthma and it really has helped me a lot.
920032 tn?1550680156 lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair could cause depression & suicide for some people that used it.
Avatar f tn From your message, you appear to have an intolerance to the so-called non-sedating anti-histamines but hopefully will be able to take Singulair; it is a good drug for nasal allergies and also, for a fair number of people, effective treatment for asthma. And it is safe, not a cause of significant liver disease, and not associated with other side effects, deemed serious. To the best of our current knowledge, the long term use of a nasal steroid, as directed, does not pose a problem.
Avatar n tn My husband has battled asthma now for over 20 years. 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar f tn john I was on my way into the navy when I found I had type 1 so I couldn't join. But if you have well controlled blood sugars and can prove it, you might just have a tiny bit have a chance. Your best option would be to try and contact your local senator or congressman and see if they will write you a recommendation letter and see if they will "pardon" your medical issue.
1530342 tn?1405016490 SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A company that makes and flies model Wright Brothers planes identified two volunteer pilots killed Saturday when one of its aircraft crashed during testing in rural Ohio. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43957399/ns/us_news-life/ Phil Beaudoin, president of Wright "B" Flyer Inc., says Mitchell Cary and Don Gum were highly competent pilots with extensive experience flying the company's planes.
Avatar f tn My 2 year old son acquired severe RSV at 6 weeks old. Ever since then he now has virally induced asthma. So he's been hospitalized a few times with bronchiolitis when he was 1 years old. The typical treatment has been 2ce a day pulmicort and 3xs a day to every 4 hours of albuterol. If that didn't work they would add predisone and sometimes zithromax. And those combos knocked it out. Well he now has 3 weeks of a rattling cough that just doesn't go away.
370736 tn?1247242917 so far I have 3 for Singulair and 1 for Advair...good luck!
Avatar n tn I have been taking singulair for a couple of years now and have all of a sudden developed a head tremor.
1938479 tn?1325705620 This is why pilots must learn to always rely on their instruments, regardless of whether they feel the plane is diving, turning or climbing. During flight training pilots are blindfolded and places on a rotating chair and asked to turn their heads in a certain way. Finally the chair is stopped and the pilot lurches foward, convinced he is being pushed off the chair.
Avatar f tn I have alot to say about Singulair but none of it is good, unfortunately. My son was on Singulair for 3 yrs. I finally recognized the side effects he was having and discontinued. He suffered from leg pain, stomach pain, irritability, anxiety, quick to tears, easily frustrated and excessively fearful. At the age of 7, his dosage was increased to 5mg. At that point, it became very clear he was suffering side effects. All of the side effects I mentioned above were multipled x 10.
Avatar m tn My son started taking Singulair in Oct.2012, and then he started complaining about his leg, some kind of weird sensation. He called itchy feeling, but it was something he could not scratch away, something underneath the skin. He kept asking me to punch his leg with a 5-pound dumbbell. He wakes up twice or three times per night. He puts some hard things under his leg, and put press on it. He does it almost every night. He can't get enough sleep.
Avatar f tn s the singulair. My 7 year old son was put on it for his asthma and hay fever/ allergies. For the few months he was on it he ended up in hospital twice because his asthma got so bad (he'd never been hospitalised before). His behaviour changed dramatically both at home and school - he was constantly angry, reactive and very often explosive and he began uncharacteristic physical risk-taking. He experienced aches and pains in his arms and legs which he'd never had before.

Avatar f tn I take singulair and doxepin perscribed by my allergist to control hives. I sometimes breakout with red pimple sores that hurt. A medical friend said the sores look like spider bites, but I'm sure they aren't. Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.
Avatar f tn i have taken my inhaler a lot and that stops my wheezing but is it safe for the baby for me to be taking the inhaler this much?
1135961 tn?1279145314 Thank you very much for your response. I made an appointment with a specailist to see what he says.
