singulair

Avatar n tn He occasionally has a cough in the morning but nothing at night, and nothing during the rest of the day. He is off the nebulizers for now and is staying on his singulair. Am I missing something w/the dark circles? Any thoughts on why they're not going away?
Avatar m tn i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
Avatar f tn The doctor also suggested to take SINGULAIR for 2-3 months. Not sure if that will really help. I will try 2-3 weeks at least. I haven't got a referral to a ped pulmo. I will ask for one if he still coughs after using the anti-biotic and SINGULAIR. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I have been taking singulair for a couple of years now and have all of a sudden developed a head tremor.
Avatar f tn What do you find Singulair did for you? I found that, for me, it did nothing.
Avatar n tn My nephew used to get sick all of the time, like your son it was a daily thing. After looking into several other things we fund out he had a gluten alergy. Unlike other food alergy's gluten is in many things so it is hard to diagnose. We changed his diet to a gluten free diet and he has been fine ever since.

Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
Avatar f tn Ridha Ahrem, author of The Thyroid Solution, does not recommend RAI for Graves in children, but surgery. There is a slight risk of stomach cancer in a ten year study (8 percent) for RAI patients. No studies have been done beyond ten years. I suggest you get a doctor who does at least two of these surgeries weekly. The below website lists endos recommended by their patients. I believe some surgeons are on there as well: http://www.thyroid-info.

Avatar m tn I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Singulair for a few months now and I haven't noticed any negative side effect. I take it along with a daily inhaler for my asthma and it really has helped me a lot.
920032 tn?1550680156 lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair could cause depression & suicide for some people that used it.
Avatar n tn I would imagine it would be because pediatric patients are still developing and their structures have a tendency to change significantly. At approx 14 or maybe a little younger puberty sets in and the body's growth is near complete. Plus pediatric neurology/NS are a specialty all their own. Hope this helps a little.
Avatar f tn I have added about 200mg of magnesium to his daily multi-vitamin/mineral supplement. And he has also been on Singulair for about a month now too.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I do not think alot of doctors keep patients on this-your steroid inhaler and maybe using Singulair should help.. I would ask about Singulair. You also need to see an actual asthma doctor (pulmonary doctor) if you're not already.
1874051 tn?1321497169 in St. Louis, Missouri there are two pediatric neuro doctors that treat chiari: Jeffrey Leonard, MD and Matthew Smyth, MD. They were the two doctors that my neurosurgeon offered to refer me to if I preferred not to be treated by him. They are associated with St Louis Children's Hospital. I do not know what their referral policy is since I liked the neurosurgeon I saw but you could probably call their office.
Avatar n tn Writing that you take breathing treatments and singulair implys you are being treated for asthma. Your runny nose may be a sign of allergic rhinitis and you may have allergic asthma. An examination and testing by an Allergy/Asthma specialist is certainly suggested, and if there are positive allergy results, specific therapy directed at addressing those allergies, may be beneficial.
Avatar f tn From your message, you appear to have an intolerance to the so-called non-sedating anti-histamines but hopefully will be able to take Singulair; it is a good drug for nasal allergies and also, for a fair number of people, effective treatment for asthma. And it is safe, not a cause of significant liver disease, and not associated with other side effects, deemed serious. To the best of our current knowledge, the long term use of a nasal steroid, as directed, does not pose a problem.
Avatar m tn Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients below the age of 18 years have not been established.
Avatar f tn My son takes pulmicort .5 nebulizer twice a day, and singulair 5mg once a day. His pediatrician sent him to a pediatric cardiologist who placed him on an event monitor for 24 hours. He said the results were normal with an average rate of 104 and the highest being 157. He has since had 3 normal ekgs and currently has an event monitor on. His pulse has been no higher than 132 for the last few days. When it was 130 ' I recorded it and sent it off to the dr.
