Avatar f tn s the singulair. My 7 year old son was put on it for his asthma and hay fever/ allergies. For the few months he was on it he ended up in hospital twice because his asthma got so bad (he'd never been hospitalised before). His behaviour changed dramatically both at home and school - he was constantly angry, reactive and very often explosive and he began uncharacteristic physical risk-taking. He experienced aches and pains in his arms and legs which he'd never had before.
Avatar f tn I have always had bad hay fever. A walk outside for 10 minutes in any season means constant sneezing and an itchy throat and eyes. However, this last year, it has gotten even worse. My eyes have been swelling up to the point that my eyes have blurry vision, and just today for the first time, my inner lip swelled up and I started coughing and finding it hard to breathe.
Avatar n tn I am having symptoms of Hay Fever, never had allergies prior, I figure would HIV alter the immune system and then I would have allergic reaction ? My Recent CBC was okay: WBC: 6.1 ( low ) Lymph: 37% ( Low ) Monocyte: 11 ( high ) MPV: 7.5 ( L ) I know HIV causes Lympocytes to go down. Avatar n tn But lately, I got what I thought was Hay Fever until my lymph nods in my neck started hurting. I suppose this is not common symptoms for Hay fever but according to internet information it is a common symptom for HIV or other viral infections. Never had hay fever before, but I tested positive towards grass pollen, which is in the high season right now. So, i have started worrying about my health. Do you think this is simply the case of hay fever or do you reckon I should get tested.
Avatar f tn You may be having allergic rhinitis and not sinus. The pain and pressure comes from infected mucous membranes. Allergy can cause a drip in the back of the throat and build mucous you cough up.
Avatar n tn You never had a risk for HIV, Your symptoms started in may... sounds like the common spring hay fever. you should continue to follow up with your Doctor for your symptoms, You were only at risk for a few things due to the unprotected oral and it was a low risk: NGU, HSV1, Syphilis, and Gono...

1671791 tn?1303833378 I know when I have a cold. I can just feel it coming and I know how it feels to have it. Last Wednesday I felt unwell, but like a cold, I had a splitting headache and had hot and cold flushes. My Mum, who's a Nurse, thought it was Hay-fever because I started feeling unwell when the pollen count was high, however the Hay-fever medicine has had no affect whatsoever, and I have been taking them regularly and as many as they allow, I have also used nasal spray.
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?

Avatar f tn The past few months of sicknesses has been the worst. He was on prednisone 3 more times and still while on Singulair. Now he is on Flovent and Singulair hoping to keep his wheezing under control. But he remains with this wet cough. It's from the asthma. Has your son ever had wheezing? The Singulair is pretty safe although it can have sleeping side effects. We have to give to him at night right b-4 bed or it keeps him up. It has helped, but just not enough.
Avatar f tn I have alot to say about Singulair but none of it is good, unfortunately. My son was on Singulair for 3 yrs. I finally recognized the side effects he was having and discontinued. He suffered from leg pain, stomach pain, irritability, anxiety, quick to tears, easily frustrated and excessively fearful. At the age of 7, his dosage was increased to 5mg. At that point, it became very clear he was suffering side effects. All of the side effects I mentioned above were multipled x 10.
