singulair

Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be contact dermatitis or eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites). The mainstay of management is liberal use of moisturizers after washing with luke warm water. Soap should be used minimally.
Avatar f tn About a year ago I developed this red rash across my cheeks and forehead. I did not change my laundry detergent(free and clear, no perfumes, ect.) I did not change my lotion (aveeno) I did not change my diet. My GP doesn't know what it is, but gave me Prednisone tapers 4 times this year.
Avatar f tn What do you find Singulair did for you? I found that, for me, it did nothing.
Avatar m tn hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Always thirsty even after gulping bottles of water. Inactive physically and mentally. Become even more inferior in social gatherings and activities. Can't even meet minimum commitments and thus affects career and personal, family relationships. After dropping Everything became normal after 8 - 10 days.
Avatar n tn m on a controller med (Symbicort) plus singulair for over a year and it has worked fantastically. Also on singulair and a rescue. Lately I try to take a deep breath and it feels like there is something blocking it, like I literally just can't get past it, my rescue doesn't help it and this has never happened before. Nothing makes it happen, just at random (trying to fall asleep, watching TV, at work, etc).
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
Avatar m tn I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar m tn i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Singulair for a few months now and I haven't noticed any negative side effect. I take it along with a daily inhaler for my asthma and it really has helped me a lot.
920032 tn?1550680156 lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair could cause depression & suicide for some people that used it.
1559007 tn?1294715408 What treatment plan is your son on for the eczema? My daughter has it. As long as she is using her ointment, she doesn't have a problem. If she stops using it and flares, she cannot tolerate even mildly warm water. We have found that sun exposure helps her very much. She only flares in the fall and winter when she doesn't get outside as much. This could be related to vitamin D levels. You may want to take you son to a dermatologist or allergist to find an effective treatment plan.
Avatar f tn From your message, you appear to have an intolerance to the so-called non-sedating anti-histamines but hopefully will be able to take Singulair; it is a good drug for nasal allergies and also, for a fair number of people, effective treatment for asthma. And it is safe, not a cause of significant liver disease, and not associated with other side effects, deemed serious. To the best of our current knowledge, the long term use of a nasal steroid, as directed, does not pose a problem.
Avatar n tn My husband has battled asthma now for over 20 years. 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar f tn My son has had eczema since he was a couple of months old but we didnt see any signs of allergy until i stopped breastfeeding him and he had breathing problems , when we had him tested we found he had allergies from many foods like garlic, lemons, oranges, grapes, sunflower seeds and oil, olives and olive oil, peaches, apples, lobster, cheeses , and cows milk but yoghurt is ok and chocolate so some things with cows milk were fine, we could give him some of these foods in moderation and not more
Avatar f tn My 2 year old son acquired severe RSV at 6 weeks old. Ever since then he now has virally induced asthma. So he's been hospitalized a few times with bronchiolitis when he was 1 years old. The typical treatment has been 2ce a day pulmicort and 3xs a day to every 4 hours of albuterol. If that didn't work they would add predisone and sometimes zithromax. And those combos knocked it out. Well he now has 3 weeks of a rattling cough that just doesn't go away.
370736 tn?1247242917 so far I have 3 for Singulair and 1 for Advair...good luck!
Avatar n tn I have been taking singulair for a couple of years now and have all of a sudden developed a head tremor.
Avatar f tn I have alot to say about Singulair but none of it is good, unfortunately. My son was on Singulair for 3 yrs. I finally recognized the side effects he was having and discontinued. He suffered from leg pain, stomach pain, irritability, anxiety, quick to tears, easily frustrated and excessively fearful. At the age of 7, his dosage was increased to 5mg. At that point, it became very clear he was suffering side effects. All of the side effects I mentioned above were multipled x 10.
Avatar m tn My son started taking Singulair in Oct.2012, and then he started complaining about his leg, some kind of weird sensation. He called itchy feeling, but it was something he could not scratch away, something underneath the skin. He kept asking me to punch his leg with a 5-pound dumbbell. He wakes up twice or three times per night. He puts some hard things under his leg, and put press on it. He does it almost every night. He can't get enough sleep.
Avatar f tn s the singulair. My 7 year old son was put on it for his asthma and hay fever/ allergies. For the few months he was on it he ended up in hospital twice because his asthma got so bad (he'd never been hospitalised before). His behaviour changed dramatically both at home and school - he was constantly angry, reactive and very often explosive and he began uncharacteristic physical risk-taking. He experienced aches and pains in his arms and legs which he'd never had before.
Avatar f tn I take singulair and doxepin perscribed by my allergist to control hives. I sometimes breakout with red pimple sores that hurt. A medical friend said the sores look like spider bites, but I'm sure they aren't. Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.
Avatar f tn i have taken my inhaler a lot and that stops my wheezing but is it safe for the baby for me to be taking the inhaler this much?

1135961 tn?1279145314 Thank you very much for your response. I made an appointment with a specailist to see what he says. I think maybe your right about the allergies, because I seem to always get these attacks when Im at home. I vacume everyday , and use a humindifier. Would it help to take claritine ? A friend told me to get a purifier ? Does that help?
Avatar n tn I hope you can find relief for your child. I know these allergies and the itching and eczema are so uncomfortable for them.
Avatar f tn My IGE level is 225, I want to know what that means as to severity. I have been on Xolair for one year, 300mg every two weeks, and I don't feel as if it has helped. I am considering stopping treatment due to no change. I am on Advair 500\50, Singulair 10mg, Spiriva, Claritin, Albuterol (both by nebulizer and fast inhaler) prednisone every month, for the last 2 years and I don't feel any better.
