Avatar n tn Rosenberg, I read in this forum that you encourage your patient to do pectoral muscle exercise to help prevent capsular contracture. I am currently going through some complications and have an open wound... the exact cause is unknown... but I have been trying to limit my upper arm movement to suppress fluid build up. In that case, I cannot do much exercise or massage or compression as you can imagine... as I need to let the open wound (just below my crease) heal first...
Avatar n tn Since my breast is already harder than the other side and have had more surgeries, I am concerned about capsular contracture. I heard taking Vitamin E and other supplements such as the following (Scar Multiplex Formula) would help: http://www.smhomeopathic.com/store/product898.html I won't be taking any Vitamin E at least until a few weeks post-op, however planned to take other supplements to help prevent CC.
Avatar f tn I had Crystalens implanted in both eyes several months ago. I have since had two Yag treatments in each eye to treat capsular contracture and early PCO. I have been plagued with glare and flickering problems since the beginning and I have recently come to recognize that I have peripheral light focusing issues in both eyes. Light entering at oblique angles is focused on the nasal retina. I have read several journal articles by MT Coroneo which describe the phenomena.
Avatar f tn So it's normal for me to feel the tightness on my left?.... Cause the right one is very good...looks normal and natural. My left doesn't look abnormal for now......just tighter. I notice in the morning, it feels more soft....but still tender. But can it be me wearing wire bras? Do u think it's irritating it? Also the pain in left breast starts on the side...and goes to where they poke 1 whole to add the fluid before the procedure.
Avatar n tn he has diagnosed anterior capsular contracture as the cause for mild haziness and difficulty in near vision. has done yag laser capsulotomy today. is this because of negligence on the part of surgeon or its an unavoidable complication?. he said its common in 30 to 40 % patients post cataract.is it so? and can u tell me will this help him now. sorry sir for bothering u again , bt being a precious eye , i am nervous and scared .
Avatar f tn Probably she has a mild capsular contracture, and she does not like the feeling of the muscles moving the implants. This is actually a common complaint. She could probably take a muscle relaxant and solve this discomfort.
Avatar n tn Wearing a tight bra always made me feel better. I think you sounded concerned about capsular contracture; if so, I previously experienced that and did not have stinging or shooting pains at that time. Hang in there and I'm sure you will soon be as comfortable as I am.
Avatar f tn So, you are on the right track for having the best outcome for yourself either way. Did your mother have breast cancer? Hypoechoic means that the mass reflects few of the Ultrasound waves that are directed at it. It is a way to find out tissues which appear different from the surroundings and therefore are probably "suspicious". A hypoecoic lesion could be either a cyst or a benign tumor or a malignant tumor. A biopsy is required to determine what is going on.
Avatar f tn What do you find Singulair did for you? I found that, for me, it did nothing.
Avatar f tn I am freeking out can u help ease my mind? I am a single mother of a 2 yearold..... In the past year I have dated 2 men. The first one for 6 months and the second one for 5 months. Through the course of each relationship I had unprotected sex with both. Both are still friends of mine and seem well. About 3 months ago I noticed that I had swollen painful armpit nodes both armpits....no other symptoms at all.
Avatar m tn hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Always thirsty even after gulping bottles of water. Inactive physically and mentally. Become even more inferior in social gatherings and activities. Can't even meet minimum commitments and thus affects career and personal, family relationships. After dropping Everything became normal after 8 - 10 days.
Avatar m tn UroLume stent placement followed by artificial urinary sphincter can be a successful method for treating recurrent severe bladder neck contracture and incontinence. Discuss this with your doctor and follow his advise. Best.
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
Avatar m tn As Dr. O mentioned, their is an increased risk in capsular tear because your zonules holding the capsular bag may be weakened from your retina surgery. The fact that the one surgeon acknowledged he knew there was increased risk and what to do to help prevent it gave me peace of mind. There are as many cataract surgeons out there as Starbucks, but not all of them have the expertise to do surgery on a previous retina patient. Ask lots of questions and find the best of the best.
Avatar n tn Hello wyotim , , Dupuytren's contracture usually progresses very slowly and may not be troublesome for years. Surgery is recommended when the inability to straighten the fingers significantly limits hand function. Surgery for Dupuytren's contracture divides or removes the thickened bands to help restore finger motion. It ihas no relation to age.You should go for the surgery if the case requires it. Avatar n tn I have early Dupuytren's contracture that started in about Feb or March ('09). Since I was diagnosed, I've been stretching the fingers back every day, hoping that this will keep the fascia from tightening up. At this point I can bend my fingers back 45 degrees. I'd like some doctors' opinions on whether this can keep the contracture from becoming a problem. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I also have occasional sharp pain on that side upon taking a deep breath. Could this be caused by implant contracture or should I get it checked for the possibility of recurrence even after this period of time?
455167 tn?1259257871 hi. has anyone else out there ever been treated for dupuytrens contracture? i'm not getting good news at all and was wondering what options were available.
Avatar m tn This is the best diagnosis I have been given by a doctor. Cause unknown. Over the years, the contracture has gotten worse affecting curling 3rd-5th digits on left hand that can't extend to a fully open hand or abduct/adduct. 1st-2nd digits still function normally. Lots of muscle atrophy in left hand, wrist and arm.
Avatar m tn I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar m tn i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Singulair for a few months now and I haven't noticed any negative side effect. I take it along with a daily inhaler for my asthma and it really has helped me a lot.
920032 tn?1550680156 lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair could cause depression & suicide for some people that used it.
Avatar f tn The problem with surgery for capsule contracture associated with breast implants, is that it is impossible to predict the success of the procedure. In many cases, removal or partial removal of the scar tissue with or without implant repositioning, will result in soft symmetrical breasts. However, there is a real risk that capsule formation will recur. Removal of the implants will completely eliminate the problem since the scar tissue is reacting to the implants.
Avatar m tn Is there any way for the Retina or Cataract Specialists to determine whether or not a Vitrectomy/ERM peel surgery caused damaged Zonules or Lens Capsular Bag tears/weakness PRIOR to the necessary Cataract surgery that is now following theVitrectomy ?
Avatar f tn From your message, you appear to have an intolerance to the so-called non-sedating anti-histamines but hopefully will be able to take Singulair; it is a good drug for nasal allergies and also, for a fair number of people, effective treatment for asthma. And it is safe, not a cause of significant liver disease, and not associated with other side effects, deemed serious. To the best of our current knowledge, the long term use of a nasal steroid, as directed, does not pose a problem.
