Avatar n tn Instead, ask your son’s doctor whether you can use Singulair 4mg granules. Do discuss this dosing with your son’s doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
460830 tn?1347219306 What was the problem with Singulair a while back? I heard something about it, but I never heard what the problem was with it.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar m tn i just wanted to post a warning to other parents. my son was on singulair for over 3 years. he was taking the drug for treatment of mild asthma and allergies. he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear.
920032 tn?1550680156 lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
9648 tn?1290091207 I'm five shots into SOC and a few days into the blue pills (Boceprevir or placebo) and I'm at the point where I'm beginning to worry about things. (Probably time for a walk, really.) But, I wanted to run my SOC dosage by everyone because I'm feeling like it's pretty low EVEN THOUGH I did check it somewhere (at Schering-Plough?) and it did check out. Still, I'm the only 1 I've ever seen who is getting less than 1000 mgs of ribavirin. Here's what I'm taking: .

Avatar f tn If you are on triple therapy for genotype 1 and undetectable then your doc is following AASLD protocol for anemia management Anemia developed among recipients of both PIs. Hemoglobin decreases below 10 g/dL (grade 2 toxicity) occurred in 49% of patients who received a BOC regimen compared to 29% of those who received the SOC regimen, whereas 9% had a hemoglobin decline of <8.5 g/dL (grade 3 toxicity).
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
1476285 tn?1287337784 When RBV is combined with PEG-IFN alpha-2a, relatively small reductions to 800 mg/day lead to significantly lower rates of SVR (5). Similarly, a large comparative trial of fixed-dose RBV compared with weight-based dosing in combination with PEG-IFN alpha-2b demonstrated that stratifying patients of all genotypes to receive starting doses ranging from 800-1400 mg/day depending on weight effects higher SVR rates than using a fixed dose of 800 mg/day for all patients (7).

Avatar m tn s way of dosing insulin is rather old-fashioned and there are new dosing regimes that can be more effective. Such as dosing your insulin to give a basal level, and then dosing based on carbs/fat/and protein in every meal. There is good information on line and website that offer support and information for lower carb diets and diabetes management. Please send me a message directly to my mailbox and I'll send you a link to a support community, if you are interested.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with secondary autoimmune adrenal insufficiency in December. I feel lousy most of the time, have chronic abdominal pain and abnormal stools, and feel best flat on my back...which doesn't work well for someone who works 12 hour shifts in a busy ER while selling one house, building another, and has 2 teens and a disabled husband, lol. Here's my question. If a person has say diabetes, their meds are based on their blood sugars.
370736 tn?1247242917 I have asthma and use inhaler (long acting and short acting) and Singulair. My pulmonary doc and OB said they're fine to use in pregnancy. I have been using my inhaler a lot more during pregnancy and I'm pretty sure it's because we are now breathing for 2 and our blood flow (which carries oxygen) is going for 2.
Avatar m tn He stopped taking Singulair in Nov.2013, but his muscle problems remained. I am not 100% sure whether it was caused by Singulair and if yes how long he will have to wait until the effect is gone. Could this be Churg-Strauses? As parents, we are VERY worried. He needs sleep. He used to play sports, just like other boys, but now he can't do anything. He is tired all the time. Could you please contact me at ***@**** if you have any info? Please help save my son!
Avatar m tn My son was diagnosed with asthma when he was 3. He takes singulair, flonaise, zyrtec, and pulmicort through a nebulizer twice a day on a daily basis. He has been through so much in his last year and a half. I just put him in play school and on his first day I can tell that the air conditioner is triggering his asthma. He began wheezing that night. And now two days later he has a full blown cold and I am doing albuterol around the clock.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I do not think alot of doctors keep patients on this-your steroid inhaler and maybe using Singulair should help.. I would ask about Singulair. You also need to see an actual asthma doctor (pulmonary doctor) if you're not already.
427265 tn?1444076436 t have much of a viral response AND if not overly anemic. Even though you are being dosed by weight, not everyone absorbs ribavirin the same way even at the same weight.
Avatar f tn ive always had asthma but it has been controlled by singulair. i rarely ever have to take my inhaler. now that im pregnant it some how triggered my asthma and singulair isnt helping at all. i have taken my inhaler a lot and that stops my wheezing but is it safe for the baby for me to be taking the inhaler this much?
Avatar f tn I take singulair and doxepin perscribed by my allergist to control hives. I sometimes breakout with red pimple sores that hurt. A medical friend said the sores look like spider bites, but I'm sure they aren't. Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.
Avatar m tn 50mg of penicillin twice daily is under dosing for any cat. Please try and actually weigh him to be sure or his most recent weight since he may have lost weight since the incident. He probably has not defecated as yet since he is not consuming much food. Eating is very important, so please try and coax him with baby food meats if he won't eat cat food.
Avatar f tn The suggestion is that rather than weight base dose these patients the dose should be arrived at by considering GFR (glomerular filtration rate). This is from Clinical Care Options @ http://tiny.
Avatar n tn My 38 yr. old physically fit, normal weight, cardio and wight lifting, motorcross racing husband has been short of breath for a few years. This has not actually been diagnosed as asthma, but he takes singulair and albuterol prn. It tends to be seasonal or related to air quality. Additionally, blood pressure has been in the 140's/80's. So not extremely high. He also takes weight lifting supplements (no steroids).
Avatar m tn ve been found to have extremely low cortisol and have been following the dosing chart on *************************. Basically every 3 or 4 days you increase by 2.5mg if you haven't seen it. Initially I was feeling slightly better on one dose of 2.5mg each morning then a day or two after being on two doses of 2.5mg I started to feel very spaced out, dizzy, exhausted and confused. I read somewhere that ideally you should raise your dose every 2 weeks or so. Would you agree with this?
Avatar f tn Can someone tell me the dosing for HC cream if using the cream instead of tablets? I remember the gram weight I think but not how often to use. Is it once a day or several times like the tablets?
Avatar f tn 5 hours, 50% of the amount of Singulair in your body will be eliminated. If you took a 5mg dose of Singulair, within the time frames they gave, you will only have 2.5mg left in your body. 2.7-5.5 hours later, you will have 50% of THAT amount left in your body. This 50% reduction will continue until all of the medication is out of your system. I totally suck at math but maybe YOU'RE an Einstein and can figure out, from this equation, exactly when the last of the Singulair will leave your body.
