singulair

Avatar f tn I think you posted a long time ago about your son and Singulair. My six year old took Singulair for 2 weeks and develped facial tics, twitches and other odd things. He's now been off for 10 days and we are still seeing it. Neuro appt. this week- so worried. Is your son okay now?
Avatar m tn But, now I have stomach pain and a headache. The ragweed is high (53) today. Alternaria mold was not measured but the overall mold count looks high. This is definitely the time of year when the Alternaria is high. I have not been taking Singulair this year at all and have not had a problem until now. Adding that might fix my problems.
Avatar f tn The most common side effects include: stomach pain, heartburn, stuffy nose, flu, dizziness, headache or rash. (ref:http://www.singulair.com/montelukast_sodium/singulair/consumer/allergies/for_parents/product_information/ppi/what_is_singulair.jsp) Your rash may be a side effect of the medications you are taking. Did the rash appear after being prescribed with these drugs?
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
1491252 tn?1297450771 t run and sports and exercising are my favorite things to do. i am a very active in school and sports and band, but my asthma used to only act up during band when i carried a bass drum around, and then i tried exercising to help controll it, but it only got worse. After i got my inhaler, i had some kinda of virus, i believe it was called adenovirus and i was put on a Z-pack because i was weasing when i breathed out.
Avatar m tn he began to have a facial tic, dilated pupils and hallucinations. i finally got the message and discontinued the singulair after researching the drug on the internet. after 3 weeks, he was like a different child. he was happier and healthier. his fears, anxiety and all the other side effects just disappeared. this drug can have devastating effects and be undetected by parents. children are unable to express the way the drug is making them feel.
Avatar f tn However, by Sunday, I had excruciating pain from my back to my neck and by Monday I had extreme joint pain all over my body. I went to my PCP and she gave me Skelaxin for pain and muscle relaxation. I felt okay on Tuesday, the pain was bearable on Wednesday and I think on Thursday I went to the ER with unbearable excruciating muscle spasms, soreness and joint pain all over my entire body.
Avatar f tn My 2 year old son acquired severe RSV at 6 weeks old. Ever since then he now has virally induced asthma. So he's been hospitalized a few times with bronchiolitis when he was 1 years old. The typical treatment has been 2ce a day pulmicort and 3xs a day to every 4 hours of albuterol. If that didn't work they would add predisone and sometimes zithromax. And those combos knocked it out. Well he now has 3 weeks of a rattling cough that just doesn't go away.
920032 tn?1550680156 All those do is dry up the mucous and drainage - post nasal drip. I use it and love it. Singulair is a leukotriine modifier. That is one of the many chemicals involved in allergic reactions. As far as which is better, that would be hard to say. They have totally different purposes. Some people say that Singulair has little effect, while I won't miss a dose without having an attack.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I also use Symbicort and was using my inhaler quite a bit...every night and 1-3 times during the day. I started taking Singulair a month ago and I don't use my inhaler nearly as much anymore. I've used it 3 times at night in the past month (2 of the times I forgot to take Singulair) and a few random times during the day/evening. Just a thought if you don't already take it and you have allergy issues. Take care.
Avatar n tn Her Pulmonary dr. put her on Singulair for a month and gave her an inhaler for emergencies. The Singulair has given her a stomach ache, nausea, for over 2 weeks now. We are waiting on a visit to a different Pulmonologist, as requested by the pediatrician. It doesn't sound like allergies or asthma that I have heard other people describe. Her pediatrician said it could be sinus drip or reflux, yet again she has no other symptoms. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn I have the same problem, pain in the lower chest it seems. I take symbicort and singulair. Does anyone know if this Zithromycin treatment works?
Avatar f tn My heart goes out to you and your little girl. I can't imagine that she is having the same problems my daughter was having. THE NUMBNESS AND TINGLING AND PAIN WAS DRIVING HER NUTS!!!!!!! And I'm sure your little girl doesn't know how to explain these feelings to you. Are her meds helping her breathing? If not, I would find another doctor. There are other things to try besides Singuliar. There is someting called Cromolyn (Intal) that I think is very safe for children.
Avatar n tn I know this is a really old post but I started having the same symptoms on Zyrtec. My doctor then put me on Singulair and the pain and all the good stuff that comes along with it has started again. I just quit the Singulair this past Tuesday, I believe, and the "lingering pain down what feels like the whole urethral tube" has subsided a little. I thought I was going crazy. So glad to have found your post. I hope you are in good health.
Avatar n tn Also since December, significant weight gain despite increased activity and low calorie intake(25 lbs-primarily in stomach area), recurrent bouts of diarrhea, fatigue/loss of energy/sleep issues (have been going on for years), pain in both knees. Also have a history of liver disease/cancer (mother and maternal grandfather--unsure if primary or metastatic), diabetes (mother), and heart disease (both parents). Any idea what could be causing these symptoms?
Avatar f tn albuterol (the emergency inhaler), Singulair (I take 10mg once every night), and one puff twice a day of Dulera with a chamber (I always rinse afterwards). It seems like a lot of meds. I’ve been on Singulair and albuterol for a few weeks, and I’ve been taking Dulera for about a week now. I guess I’m just worried that those meds shouldn’t be taken as much as I’m taking them/together in the first place.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar f tn I have always had difficulty breathing in high humidity. My doctor told me that I am most likely allergic to mold, and the humidity is causing this to be worse. I have been prescribed an albuterol inhaler, and usually only have to use it about 3 weeks out of the year. Otherwise, I take Singulair year round. This year the humidity is especially high. I have had trouble breathing for over a month now.
486038 tn?1300063367 My mom is concerned about pnemonia too and wanted them to do an xray as well, especially with that pain in my back when I breathe (course with a cough like this), but they chose to throw a bunch of these meds at it... so far it's all ......cough, cough, cough........ My PCP has me coming back in on Monday, before I fly out Tuesday. As far as the cortisone shot (no clue on the dosage, did not have the brains to ask...
Avatar n tn m on a controller med (Symbicort) plus singulair for over a year and it has worked fantastically. Also on singulair and a rescue. Lately I try to take a deep breath and it feels like there is something blocking it, like I literally just can't get past it, my rescue doesn't help it and this has never happened before. Nothing makes it happen, just at random (trying to fall asleep, watching TV, at work, etc).
Avatar m tn hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Always thirsty even after gulping bottles of water. Inactive physically and mentally. Become even more inferior in social gatherings and activities. Can't even meet minimum commitments and thus affects career and personal, family relationships. After dropping Everything became normal after 8 - 10 days.
