singulair

Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
Avatar n tn Antibiotics sometimes don't work for sinus infections, because sinus infections differ than other types of infections, and anyway, soon, a large swath of bacteria strains will be antibiotic-resistant. The Flip-Turn Sinus Flush verifies a Mayo Clinic discovery about the true nature of some sinus infections, but I will not recommend it until you have gone through your other meds. http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn I have had repeat sinus infections, I had sinus surgery 4 years ago and that seemed to really improve the sinus infections but I still get bronchitis several (2-3) times a year, last month I was diagnosed with pnemonia (this is the second time I have had it in the last 5 years) I had no idea, just a lingering annoying cough, I even ran a 10 mile run with it and felt fine, they started me on antibiotics because my Dr. didnt like how my cough sounded.
Avatar m tn I feel the same way...but its much easier, and healthier, than having to constantly deal with sinus infections and worse. Best of luck!
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
Avatar m tn This is after on and off sinus infections (or what I think are sinus infections) for months. Antibiotics (Augmentin) have done the trick in the past, but after 20 days my PCP sent me to a different ENT (saw one in April, had CAT scan, didn't show sinus infection) and he is now treating me for allergies with Flonase, Singulair and Claritin. But in the meantime I have this daily sinus pressure and it's very hard to get anything up (mucus) and out.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 26 year old female and I have been dealing with chronic sinus infections since I can remember. It gets in the way of my workouts, school, and work. they all suffer from me being sick and it is very depressing. I feel like I am sick 70 percent of the time and most of my life. It is very hard and sad most of my young life just went bye bye, due to illness:( I get very discouraged I know there is worse out there but it is like I have a disease it is so bad.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
Avatar m tn I have had cronic full time sinus infections for a ng time. Been on antidiotics for 8 months and still not fixed. My balance is no good going down steps n i have to hold something to even get off a chair. This has only been happening since my infections started.
Avatar n tn Strep test came back negative, and I have already had mono before. Assuming it was a sinus infection, they prescribed amoxicillin, and that took care of the symptoms in under a week. About two weeks after being off of the amoxicillin, the symptoms began to return. I went back to the doctor and the prescribed some different antibiotic, which again, worked fine. Yet again, a few weeks after being done with that antibiotic, the symptoms returned.
Avatar f tn I am 62 and have a history of sinus infections, sinus congestion, headaches/pressure and allergy symptoms(sneezing, itchy eyes,et.c). I also have enlarged tonsils and have had tonsilitis over the ears. I often take antibiotics for these infections and they clear. That can average at least 3 or 4 times per year.
Avatar n tn Her Pulmonary dr. put her on Singulair for a month and gave her an inhaler for emergencies. The Singulair has given her a stomach ache, nausea, for over 2 weeks now. We are waiting on a visit to a different Pulmonologist, as requested by the pediatrician. It doesn't sound like allergies or asthma that I have heard other people describe. Her pediatrician said it could be sinus drip or reflux, yet again she has no other symptoms. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn I have problems with CHRONIC sinusitis and sinus infections. My face feels like it is going to explode from pressure, my nose constantly runs, my throad gets sore a lot, and my ears hurt. I had surgery two years ago to remove tissue from my nose to enlarge my sinuses and it did help...but now I am back to square one. I take Zyrtec, Flonase and anything else to help, also have been on COUNTLESS antibiotics. I also have asthma and it is making it flare up.
Avatar f tn You can try posting in the alt.support.sinusitis group over on google. They have a lot of info on fungal sinus infections and treatments.
Avatar m tn My daughter has taken singular since she was 3, she's now 19. I'm really worried about long term effects....she's in college now and after a year of sinus problems we've taken her off gluten, dairy, eggs and soy and she is doing much better. Just recently we had trouble getting a renewed rx down to her in school and she's been 'out' of singular for a week.
Avatar f tn Pred helped briefly, but after weens off, pressure builds up again. Tried sinus irrigations daily, allergy meds ( singulair, claritin, flonase, nasonex, allegra). He does not think this is allergy-related (he never gets congestion, sneezing, post-nasal drip, ect. Hx of exercised-induced asthma (no asthma problems otherwise). No sig. med hx. Alt. approaches tried(no help) He's left the state to deduct any environmental allergies/causes.
Avatar f tn Last November I had endoscopic sinus surgery to clear my sinuses and deviated seputum fixed. I was great for 7 months! Then in June I got a sinus headache and my life has not been the same. I have been to the family doctor, the ENT, allergies and now I am going to a neurologist. My symptoms are burning sensation in cheeks leading to ears and teeth. Throbbing pain in my nose (like pulse or heatbeat), constant headache, darck circles under eyes and severe post nasal drip.
Avatar f tn I am a mother of a 26 year daughter who recently pulled the plug on taking a daily dose of Singulair (it was generic) after over a year. It was used as a maintenance treatment for chronic allergies and sinus infections. Seemed to work ok, however in the 6 months there had been a couple times she rushed herself to the doctor for symptoms that no one even thought to suspect the allergy medication. First there was numbing and tingling in her arms.
Avatar n tn In 1992 I had sinus surgery to remove polyps in my left sinus cavity. I suffer from chronic sinus infections and was put on a daily dose of Singulair and Clarinex to keep them at bay. This has worked well for me for many years now. I recently misplaced my Singulair and did not realize I was not taking it. Soon after I began having sinus problems again, including the yellow runny fluid and migraine pain. I realized this morning what I had done and am now back on the right meds.

Avatar f tn I have been to a pulmonogist (I am 43) and he suggested that humidifier/steam thing and whooo it made me worse. I do the sinus irritation thing-not the neti pot but a tube. The CVS pharm. recommended it to me. I had a CAT scan on my sinus which revealed nothing but I know I do cough from bronchtis and asthma and what has worked for me is a bronchiodialator "Combivent". That was also reccomended by my pulmonolgist.

Avatar n tn I started off at Thanksgiving with a cough and went to the Dr and was on antibiotics off and on for a month and finally went for a chest xray and they said I had walking pneumonia and asthma ( never had any trouble with this or sinusis before in my life) took cough syrups and nothing helped. Then it all went to my nose about March and my Dr. got me in to see an ENT. He done CT scans of my sinus and said I was a mess. Had trouble breathing and severe coughing and drainage.
