singulair

Avatar m tn he suffered from undetected side effects for 3 years. the side effects were sneaky and subtle and i did not pick up on the cause. at the age of 7, his physician increased his dosage to 5mg due to his age. after that increase, his side effects became loud and clear. in general he suffered from nightmares, leg pain, irritability, fear, out-of-nowhere vomiting, sadness, anxiety, self-doubt, impulsiveness, dificulty focusing / concentrating and restlessness.
Avatar f tn I was having the same side effects, switched to dulera and have very few side effects, only stomach acid which is treatable. Glad you're feeling better.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Singulair for a few months now and I haven't noticed any negative side effect. I take it along with a daily inhaler for my asthma and it really has helped me a lot.
Avatar f tn I have heard from enough people who have had these same side effects on Singulair about their arms and legs hurting and feeling numb and tingling that I would ask her doctor if there is anything else she could try. From what I am learning there are other things to try that don't have these side effects! ALSO - PREDNISONE CAN CAUSE TERRIBLE MOOD SWINGS, and MENTAL CHANGES!!! It happened to me and I was only on it for about 2 weeks with bronchitis.
Avatar f tn Now having anxiety and fearful thoughts. It was I Sonia last week. How long do these kind of side effects last and would taking an over the counter antihistimines help? I see a new allergist in 10 days. I am not having caffeine or alcohol. I am eating clean and limiting sugar. Help please!! 1154802 tn?1266485720 t use that junk anymore and take natural anti-inflammatories instead. No side effects to those. Check the new FDA warnings involving these poisons.
Avatar n tn I have looked up the side effects of both Singulair and Advair. It seems that both can cause skin issues. I just know that he's been using the Advair all along with no problems but once he started the Singulair the itching returned. Now I will have to say that the past two days have been better. Maybe his body needed to adjust? Dunno.
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
Avatar n tn Head tremors could be also a side-effect, as it is consistent with the possible side effects presented with the use of Singulaire, however, not directly listed itself as one, but rather linked to one ( seizures, dizziness, headaches, etc). It should be reported to your prescribing Doctor immediately. Please offer more details such as reasons for taking it and other symptoms. There may be better options available. Take care.
Avatar f tn I think you posted a long time ago about your son and Singulair. My six year old took Singulair for 2 weeks and develped facial tics, twitches and other odd things. He's now been off for 10 days and we are still seeing it. Neuro appt. this week- so worried. Is your son okay now?
Avatar f tn is there another medicine similar to singulair that doesn't have the bad side effects
Avatar f tn The most common side effects include: stomach pain, heartburn, stuffy nose, flu, dizziness, headache or rash. (ref:http://www.singulair.com/montelukast_sodium/singulair/consumer/allergies/for_parents/product_information/ppi/what_is_singulair.jsp) Your rash may be a side effect of the medications you are taking. Did the rash appear after being prescribed with these drugs?
Avatar f tn I've had a really bad cough for about 6 months and my pulmonary doc gave me Advair 250/50 and Singulair.........it didn't do anything........so he called in prednisone.......10mg......and I am supposed to take 4 per day until I feel better then reduce by one pill every 3 days..........it's been 10 days now and I don't feel any better and I'm starting to worry about side effects. I don't know what to do and I can't help but wonder if I'm doing the right thing.
Avatar m tn hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Always thirsty even after gulping bottles of water. Inactive physically and mentally. Become even more inferior in social gatherings and activities. Can't even meet minimum commitments and thus affects career and personal, family relationships. After dropping Everything became normal after 8 - 10 days.
Avatar f tn Also, remember any medication you take will have a list of side effects a mile long. If you search the side effects of any pill on the internet of course it will scare the you know what out of you. For example, if I looked up the potential side effects of the Motrin I took yesterday, I would probably never take it again. Of course there are risks to anything we put into our body, but your doctor compares the risks vs. benefits of the drug when prescribing it to you.
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/singulair-drug.htm#side_effects https://www.rxlist.com/ventolin-hfa-side-effects-drug-center.htm Dizziness is listed as a possible side effect for both of these. It could also be totally unrelated, but it's definitely something you should talk to your doctor about. Let us know how you're feeling.
Avatar n tn Hello, Side effects of singulair are many varying from non serious ones like nausea, abdominal pain, headache, heart burns and GI discomfort to serious ones like anaphylaxis, liver damage and depression and hallucinations. You can take zytec(cetrizine) for your allergies but it is also not without side effects. They may vary from allergic reactions to raised heart beat, seizures and liver damage.
Avatar f tn It was then that I researched the side effects of my prescribed drugs and determined that I should stop taking the Singulair. My doctor prescribed a replacement for Singulair, and within a month the numbness went away. Over the past few months I have tried to get back into running. I used to run frequently, always training for a 5k, 10k, or half-marathon, so not sprinting. I have never had a problem with my heart rate or my blood pressure, but now I do.
Avatar n tn Odimont is not in my Nurse's Drug Book. I did an Internet search and one site gave the generic name as montelukast which is sold in the U.S. under the brand name Singulair. If this is medicaiton you have been prescribed, it is not a steroid. When you say fluticone do you mean fluticasone? If so, it is an inhaled corticosteroid. Medrol is a corticosteroid. I was not able to find any information on formanide. Corticosteroids do have side effects and should not be stopped abruptly.
Avatar n tn Since April of 2009, I have been having strange urinary problems. For about 3 weeks, I had increased urinary frequency and urgency, as well as painful urination. This seemed to come with thirst and dry mouth. The frequency and urgency have gone, as well as the increased thirst and dry mouth, but I am still stuck with painful urination. The urine now appears foamy as well. The pain is a burning when urinating, and then I get a lingering pain down what feels like the whole urethral tube.
Avatar f tn Side effects and allergies to drugs would be very different. Side effects could improve over time or with improved inhaler techniques. Allergies would stop you from using the medication completely. Allergies to medications should be limitated to certain drugs or ones that work very similarly. There should be other inhaled steroids (same use as budesonide) that you should be able to safely use. Another possibility is singulair if the asthma is allergy based.
312330 tn?1245176752 Are any of you taking theophylline for your asthma? If so, have you had a lot of side effects from it? My doc is considering trying this, just looking for people's experience.
Avatar f tn I know for a fact that Singulair can cause ear ache and chest infection as well as other annoying side effects because I have had them, I got off of the medication because I didn't see improvement, my friend stayed on it and loves what it does for her. My mother in law is on it and loves it. Oh I should also mention that it also takes about 1-2 months for some long term asthma medication to take full effect so don't take it for 2 weeks and say it isn't working, give it a chance!
Avatar m tn And now two days later he has a full blown cold and I am doing albuterol around the clock. I hate all the meds and reading about the side effects makes me feel sick. I just don't see any way around them. I talked to his teacher about adjusting the temp on the air, but it feels like a losing battle. I don't want to have to pull him out of school, but there is no way I can put him in an environment that will make him sick.
