Singulair and pseudoephedrine

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair and pseudoephedrine

singulair

I've been trying to treat this with pseudoephedrine, benedryl (at night), cetirizine, and guaifenesin. Things usually feel a little easier, but they don't really go away. I'm really trying not to be too worried, but it's really unnerving. Any advice/thoughts/opinions? (I'm probably going to be going to the doctor this coming week anyway, but just...
The ENT had diagnosed non allergic rhinitis with all these symptoms plus fatigue. Steroids got me up...Singulair and NasalCort are helping tremendously and keeping me going. They said it's up to me if I want the shots.
I developed allergies and asthma during this pregnancy, and my doctor put me on Singulair and Clairitin, but told me that Clairin D is not safe.
when I find out what I'm allergic to. And then I'm supposed to start the Singulair and Nasalcrom. I'm thinking I may go back to the chiropractor, too. And since the Dr. said the B-complex and Niacin wouldn't affect my thyroid levels, may go back on those. Have to recheck my thyroid the 1st of Dec. Makes you feel like an old person complaining all the time. You can't help but have it on your mind when you feel bad most of the time - as the Dr. said don't obsess or get paranoid with it.
I am not a doctor just an ex nurse so please take what I say for face value. That being said, I personally take Bezze (called Singulair in the states) and find that it helps my allergies some. Sometimes I have to take additional meds to help my symptoms such as decongestants with pseudoephedrine. What symptoms are you having that are bothering you most right now? Have you approached your doctor about them?
I forgot to add a couple things!! Whichever pupil is enlarged, the eye always feels dry. I use eye drops, but they don't seem to give lasting relief Also, I realized something as I was just sitting here giving my son his bottle. Yesterday when both of my pupils were the same size, I had forgotten to take my "singulair". I took it last night right before bed, and today my right pupil is enlarged. Could the "singulair" possibly be causing it?
I use rescue inhalers at the rate of 1 a week, daily nebulizer treatments, Singulair, Symbicort, and have become Prednisone dependent as well. The long-term use of Prednisone has caused steroid induced diabetes and cataracts, which can't be removed as long as I am still on steroids. My adrenals have stopped working on their own because of the long term use of steroids, and I go into adrenal failure when my docs try tapering me off. I was active, thin and healthy before contracting pertussis.
Mine is little different because where ever I am at this smell stays in, my room , at work and in my car.. and the smell changes all the time it depends what I eat. I also get thursty If I dont drink water. I start to get a dry throat and mouth... If i drink anything else that is not water my breath gets worse.. please help!
but I'm like you, why now all of a sudden would it bother me like this. I don't think I'll go for the shots. I think I will use the saline rinse, Singulair and NasaCort and see how I do this summer. If I get really bad again I guess I'll have to try the shots. I do not sneeze or cough. Guess we just have to wait it out or cure ourselves. I hold down my couch most of the time, also. Just try to get to work and home. What a life.
It's speedy, but is excellent for clearing and keeping passages open. It's the plant ephedrine and pseudoephedrine were isolated from. But a complete asthma program would be complicated, and would be best done by reading about the natural approach or seeing a holistic nutritionist or a naturopath.
I have been on Singulair for a few weeks now and felt reduction in my mucus secretion. I used to have a fair amount of dried mucus accumulated near the end of my nostrils and have to use my fingers to remove it several times a day. Now I don't have that mount anymore. My airway is open better so I can breath normally. I also noticed reduction in food particles caught in my back throat.
Since the first night I arrived I have had the worst allergies of my life. Constantly night and day I am sneezing and have a cough and itchy/watery eyes. I started taking a holistic allergy medication that the local pharmacist recommended called Health*Star Allergy Relief and the active ingredient is Chlorpheniramine Maleate.
The best treatment for allergic rhinitis (a runny nose) is 10 milligrams of montelukast sodium (Singulair), which is available by prescription, or 240 milligram of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (Sudafed). According to a study by the University of Chicago, the two drugs are equally effective, even though the prescription drug costs 4 times as much. The study was funded by the makers of the prescription drug.
I just wanted to say that I am now getting relief with the Nasacort and Singulair, along with saline irrigation every day, and an air cleaner in my bedroom. Now..I don't know if the meds are helping or if this has run its' course. Even though I had the allergy testing and it came back severe on most everything, I'm still not sure it's allergies. So I haven't decided if I'm going to have the shots. Just to be safe though I'm cleaning everything.

I'm 24 now--the first time I ever had an anxiety episode was in college when I was about 19 and I had started taking advair and singulair for the first time for my asthma/allergies. I'm still convinced that that's what has opened the floodgates for me, so to speak. As far as anxiety disorders go, different things can trigger the onset of them if you have a genetic predisposition for it, and for me that's what it was and I've had a problem with it ever since.
