Singulair and nosebleeds

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair and nosebleeds

singulair

Avatar m tn I am a 16 year old female, and for about the past half of a year, I've been getting nosebleeds at an increasing regularity. I haven't been hit on the head before these nosebleeds, and I haven't jarred myself. I also don't feel them coming on at all. The last time that I had a nosebleed, which was a little less than a week ago, I also coughed up a little bit of blood, but I'm pretty sure that was only because it was in my sinuses.
Avatar n tn I agree with JDRF-VOL-RL that the nosebleeds are more likely to be caused by something other than type 1 diabetes. I had nosebleeds at about the same age, and in my case it was allergy-related. My doctors suggested that I would "outgrow" the problem, and this is indeed what happened. It wasn't fun at the time, but it all stopped by the time I was about a junior in high school. No nosebleeds since then. I would ask his doctor about other allergy meds, or perhaps allergy shots.
Avatar f tn Yesss I never had nosebleeds either until I got pregnant and now I have them all the time out of the SAME nostril every time. It's so weird lol.
Avatar f tn ve had frequent nosebleeds. The nosebleeds occur every 2 to 3 hours. I have been unable to find relief, my dr said my BP is normal usually about 117 over 65. He gave me some mild pain medication and a muscle relaxer, that didn't help. I've been back to see him and he said I should try an ice pack, which I have and that doesn't help either. I don't have a history of this problem it's just started in the past few weeks.
Avatar m tn he began to have a facial tic, dilated pupils and hallucinations. i finally got the message and discontinued the singulair after researching the drug on the internet. after 3 weeks, he was like a different child. he was happier and healthier. his fears, anxiety and all the other side effects just disappeared. this drug can have devastating effects and be undetected by parents. children are unable to express the way the drug is making them feel.
920032 tn?1550680156 All those do is dry up the mucous and drainage - post nasal drip. I use it and love it. Singulair is a leukotriine modifier. That is one of the many chemicals involved in allergic reactions. As far as which is better, that would be hard to say. They have totally different purposes. Some people say that Singulair has little effect, while I won't miss a dose without having an attack.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I also use Symbicort and was using my inhaler quite a bit...every night and 1-3 times during the day. I started taking Singulair a month ago and I don't use my inhaler nearly as much anymore. I've used it 3 times at night in the past month (2 of the times I forgot to take Singulair) and a few random times during the day/evening. Just a thought if you don't already take it and you have allergy issues. Take care.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
Avatar f tn Most nosebleeds start from the many small blood vessels that lie in the front part of your nose, and are fairly easy to stop yourself. Nosebleeds that start in back part of your nose come from bigger vessels, and tend to be heavier, and harder to stop.  Here's what to do when you have a nosebleed:Sit down and firmly pinch your nose just above your nostrils, where your nose is soft. Breathe through your mouth.Keep pinching for about 10 minutes to 15 minutes, without releasing the pressure.
Avatar f tn We got the CT Scan done at that time .It came back ok.But now with her headaches and nosebleeds,I m really worried. Also,I've had nosebleeds since childhood, and still have it sometimes. We are planning to talk to her doctor. But I am really worried.
Avatar n tn My daughter used to get nosebleeds almost everyday, especially when she would take a shower. I had to take her to the doctor a few times because it was so bad. I myself had the same problem as a kid. I eventually had to have my nose cauderized because I had a horrible nosebleed one day that was like nothing I had ever seen. I was going to have the same done to her (she asked to have it done) before it got too bad.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar m tn I've had on-and-off nosebleeds for 4-5 years (I'm 19). I went to an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat specialist) last summer and he didn't find anything while examining my nose. He recommended bacitracin cream, but I didn't get it (it seemed like he thought I was wasting his time because I didn't have every detail about the nosebleeds).
Avatar f tn I had a lot of nosebleeds around the time I became cirrhotic, pre tx and at the beginning but none since being undetected. I woke up to very bloody pillow cases every morning..not a pretty image but just to let you know it was serious bleeding. It will be over before you know it.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am a 22 year old male and for the past 4 years or so I've been having nosebleeds about once every 4 days on average. The nosebleeds are always out of my left nostril and only last a few minutes. I think that they used to bleed heavier than they do currently. They occur all year around and my blood pressure is normal, maybe a little high. I'm not overweight but am out of shape and get little exercise.
6709254 tn?1389303349 So I understand nosebleeds come with being pregnant but they come so much. Like I have about 5-8 Nosebleeds a day. And my doctor says its normal. I've never had nosebleeds before I got pregnant. Well when my nose bleeds I pull out these huge blood clots. And for the past couple of days I noticed that there is something hanging in my nose. Its blocking my nostril making it difficult to breathe.
Avatar m tn hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Always thirsty even after gulping bottles of water. Inactive physically and mentally. Become even more inferior in social gatherings and activities. Can't even meet minimum commitments and thus affects career and personal, family relationships. After dropping Everything became normal after 8 - 10 days.
Avatar f tn I have infrequent nosebleeds and was prescribed Premarin cream for my nasal passages. I also have eustation tube dysfunction and was wondering could all this be related? My father also had nose bleeds and formed a clot and died from a pulmonary embolism. Is there any other way to tell why my nose bleeds? I had two in one day which is unusual and it happens in all the seasons.
Avatar f tn This time of year, the furnace runs so much the air inside the house gets hot and super dry, this happens to me some and it makes my nose bleed occasionally. You might check the humidity level and try to keep it around 60%. You probably know it will help your furniture and any wooden musical instruments also.
Avatar f tn I understand nosebleeds are normal during pregnancy, but is it still okay when it last 20+ minutes? During the nosebleed there were two big clots one in the beginning and the end and a steady flow through out it. After it was done I felt dizzy and started seeing some spots. I have had them before, but they are normally less than a minute. Just wondering if I should be concerned at all.
Avatar f tn I have had three nosebledes during the past week and I have never had nosebleeds my entire life (that I can remeber). Should I be concerned? One happened at work while I was on the phone I didn't feel particularly dry. Then I gotone the morning after I threw up(gagged on my toothbrush) and it keep coming back. I finally got it stopped but I thought I'd ask. Anybody else having nose issues??
Avatar f tn I'm O negative, so I have to get the shots too. I had asked my dr about the nosebleeds, and she was the one to tell me it was normal. Also bleeding gums is normal too, which is kinda gross lol.
Avatar f tn I'm 16 weeks with my second and experiencing the same. This one is a girl and is overall way worse than being pregnant with my son was.
