Singulair and nausea

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair and nausea

singulair

Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your response. I think I'm nauseous because of meds. that I am taking for asthma/inflammation - 2 inhalers, Theophylline, Singulair & MS meds. I almost constantly feel a very mild nausea, but sometimes it's not so mild. It's very frustrating and many times prevents me from eating the healthy foods I try to eat. I end up eating junk food, because these foods are what I feel I can tolerate & almost taste good (doughy type foods like pretzels, pizza).
Avatar f tn I take singulair and doxepin perscribed by my allergist to control hives. I sometimes breakout with red pimple sores that hurt. A medical friend said the sores look like spider bites, but I'm sure they aren't. Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.
4165464 tn?1384457741 I asked my dr at my pp appt and she said zyrtec (not sure if that's how u spell it) is safe
Avatar n tn Her Pulmonary dr. put her on Singulair for a month and gave her an inhaler for emergencies. The Singulair has given her a stomach ache, nausea, for over 2 weeks now. We are waiting on a visit to a different Pulmonologist, as requested by the pediatrician. It doesn't sound like allergies or asthma that I have heard other people describe. Her pediatrician said it could be sinus drip or reflux, yet again she has no other symptoms. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn he began to have a facial tic, dilated pupils and hallucinations. i finally got the message and discontinued the singulair after researching the drug on the internet. after 3 weeks, he was like a different child. he was happier and healthier. his fears, anxiety and all the other side effects just disappeared. this drug can have devastating effects and be undetected by parents. children are unable to express the way the drug is making them feel.
920032 tn?1550680156 All those do is dry up the mucous and drainage - post nasal drip. I use it and love it. Singulair is a leukotriine modifier. That is one of the many chemicals involved in allergic reactions. As far as which is better, that would be hard to say. They have totally different purposes. Some people say that Singulair has little effect, while I won't miss a dose without having an attack.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind right now. My preventive asthma medication seems to cause nausea and general cloudiness when I take them. When I stop taking them, the dizziness stops so I know that it's the cause. I've tried a handful of different medicines like Flovent, Dulera, Qvar, Advair, Pulmicort and even Singulair and they all cause this nauseating effect. I'm wondering if any of you know what this might be and any way to stop it.
Avatar f tn Since March, I have been getting sick with cold/flu symptoms (fever, aches, congestion, cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, nausea) almost every month. I had a chest x-ray, and it showed nothing. I took antibiotics,, but they did not help. I am seeing an allergist in a few weeks. I started taking Zyrtec a few weeks ago. I take multivitamins daily, and flax oil supplements. I have tried green tea, grape seed extract, zinc and echinacea. I do mild exercise regularly and eat fairly well.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I also use Symbicort and was using my inhaler quite a bit...every night and 1-3 times during the day. I started taking Singulair a month ago and I don't use my inhaler nearly as much anymore. I've used it 3 times at night in the past month (2 of the times I forgot to take Singulair) and a few random times during the day/evening. Just a thought if you don't already take it and you have allergy issues. Take care.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. Avatar f tn He was prescribed neurotin by his neurologist and my immunlogist told me to get him off of the singulair before we gave him the neruotin. He said that the side effect was kind of rare, but possible. Of course we took him off of the singulair, but it hasn't taken the pins and needles away. I hope that he will have some relief at some point. We are planning of giving him the neruontin before the beginning of the school year to take away some of the discomfort. How are you doing now?
1580703 tn?1651904887 well I take dulera/singulair and still can't exhale, even prednisone doesn't help that and can't speak in sentences.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar m tn hav been taking singulair for 3 years. Cramps in fingers, throat and leg occured common. Shoulders drooped. Standing and sitting posture gone really bad. Extreme tiredness 24X7. Avatar f tn My 2 year old son acquired severe RSV at 6 weeks old. Ever since then he now has virally induced asthma. So he's been hospitalized a few times with bronchiolitis when he was 1 years old. The typical treatment has been 2ce a day pulmicort and 3xs a day to every 4 hours of albuterol. If that didn't work they would add predisone and sometimes zithromax. And those combos knocked it out. Well he now has 3 weeks of a rattling cough that just doesn't go away.
370736 tn?1247242917 I have asthma and use inhaler (long acting and short acting) and Singulair. My pulmonary doc and OB said they're fine to use in pregnancy. I have been using my inhaler a lot more during pregnancy and I'm pretty sure it's because we are now breathing for 2 and our blood flow (which carries oxygen) is going for 2.
Avatar n tn No I have not had a topical steroid prescribed, I go see the dentist on next Tuesday, the only medication i am prescribed is Valtrex, Singulair, Rhinocort, and Yaz, just started Yaz this month. However, been on Valtrex consist for a year nearly now.

Avatar n tn Hello Drs I was involved in an exposure (Insertive Oral) unprotected and (insertive Anal) protected until the condom broke in the end....didnt realize that I was exposed to a lot of fecal matter until the end. My partner says that he is negative and I even has the test results to prove it. But I dont trust him and I worry about the "window Period" I was tested at 70 days/ 10 weeks via the Trinity Biotech and it was negative.
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
Avatar m tn I was wonder how Singular works and if it will help me with itchy allergies and a nose that is always stuffy?
Avatar f tn t been the same. Her nausea comes and goes at the drop of a hat, sometimes she is so ill that getting up from bed to use the toilet is extremely complicated. She has had many diagnostics run which includes the following..upper GI, colonoscopy, ultasounds on both the gallbladder and kidneys, hitus exam, biopsies on both the stomach and colon. The biopsies showed eosinophils at the age of 15 but recently the same procedure was run and no eosinophils were present this time.
