Singulair and flonase

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair and flonase

singulair

Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
Avatar f tn Urgent care doc gave me a trial of Singulair (10 mcg for 3-month) and started feel less cough, chest tight (now use 2-4 puffs per month) and tickle, but still feel a bit congested. In Aug, my PCP referred me to ENT and suggested to add Astelin for treating me persistent rhinitis. I did an allergy blood test for 13 kinds of environmental allergen but it’s negative. I did ask my PCP if I am having asthma. She said it’s only an allergy.
Avatar f tn I have many allergies and am on Allegra, Flonase, and Singulair. I try to keep my sugar intake to a minimum but when I'm in a flare-up, sugary things seem to be what my body craves, especially when I'm in "fibro-fog".
Avatar f tn I am on amoxicyllin for last 8 days now and also taking Flonase and singulair for asthma, I get 100-101 fever every evening. My CBC is normal and my doctor is not worried about my fever and thinks its because of sinus and allergies.
Avatar f tn I take zyrtec, singulair, flonase and astepro for the allergies and sinus. My ENT is stumped. How can I get my taste and smell back?
486038 tn?1300063367 This whole not being able to sleep and coughing all the time and being short of breathe and just feeling ick is just getting old. The entire Dr. office was ready for me to leave, the nurse stuck her head in the room and told me to go home and get some cough syrup! I'm going to NYU on the 10th of Sept, next Tuesday. I'm hoping all this sorta soothes over and the weather holds up and that flying out of New York on Sept 11th isn't a bad thing. Grin. Thank you for posting in reply!!!
Avatar n tn I take Zyrtec, Flonase and anything else to help, also have been on COUNTLESS antibiotics. I also have asthma and it is making it flare up. I use my inhalers and Singulair for that regularly. I have gotten very wheezy and short of breath at night. My sinus CT didnt really show any structural abnormalities. I honestly dont know what else to do. I feel tired all of the time, constantly have a headache, and am miserable. My doctor wants to send me to an allergist. What will they do?
Avatar m tn hi i don't have the actual test numbers yet, only the basic results from the doctor saying that tested negative for HSV 1 and HSV 2 came up equivocal....but didn't give me the actual numbers which i should have on Monday. I was wondering if the prescription meds i'm taking (propecia, flonase, singulair & ambien) could contribute to this test result? also, i have no visible symptons of any kind....
Avatar m tn He also has albuterol inhaler and Flonase. However, it does not work sometime like the last 2 nights. The flonase really made it worst so I stop. He has this about a year off and on, but worse when the weather change.I have air filter and huminifier at home as well. Myself, I started having sinus issue only recently about 2-3 years. I have post nasal drop 2-3x per week. Sometime mild and sometime very bad.
Avatar f tn first two were done 20-25 yrs ago. Went on 20mg/day oral steroids cause asthma not controlled with Advair 500, Flonase and Singulair. Titrating down now/ 2 weeks. Every time try to sinus rinse, goes in ears. Tried sinus flush method, went in ears and hurts. Do I find the best clinic in country for this and f/u with local ENT, or go to a 3rd ENT here in Central Il. and hope for best? Where do I go? How do I find out why my immune system got whacked?
Avatar f tn I currently am on Advair 5000, Singulair 10mg, Prednisone, Claritin, Mucinex, Flonase, Albuterol (fast and nebulizer) and Xolair injections every two weeks (300mg). To this date I still have problems weekly-monthly. I am not getting better. Coughing seems to be my biggest symptom, I cough so much and so hard that I start hyperventilating. My doctor says there is not much more he can do medicine wise. My life is totally a disaster.
Avatar n tn She did an inebulizer (sp?) in her office that day, started me on a Z-Pack, Allegra and Singulair. At my week follow-up appointment I was not really doing any better so she added Prednisone and Flonase. Four days later in the afternoon I began coughing uncontrollably and could not breathe and ended up in the ER. They immediately saw me and drew blood. The blood test came back positive and they felt that I had a blood clot on my lung. They also ran a TB test.
Avatar m tn he began to have a facial tic, dilated pupils and hallucinations. i finally got the message and discontinued the singulair after researching the drug on the internet. after 3 weeks, he was like a different child. he was happier and healthier. his fears, anxiety and all the other side effects just disappeared. this drug can have devastating effects and be undetected by parents. children are unable to express the way the drug is making them feel.
920032 tn?1550680156 All those do is dry up the mucous and drainage - post nasal drip. I use it and love it. Singulair is a leukotriine modifier. That is one of the many chemicals involved in allergic reactions. As far as which is better, that would be hard to say. They have totally different purposes. Some people say that Singulair has little effect, while I won't miss a dose without having an attack.
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar f tn m on Zyrtec, Singulair, Benadryl, Advair, Flonase, Astelin, Mucinex and STILL have drainage and chest/nasal congestion. Feeling rundown and tired and want to get over this. This is the second time I've been through somethine like this in 2011. Any advice would be appreciated.
1398713 tn?1282046685 O_O We had an early thaw this year and the doctor chalked it up to dead grasses and molds being present in the environment where the snow melted so quickly. I was given a Rx for Ventolin, Flovent, Flonase and Reactine. I was then sent to an allergy specialist and she recommended I try Singulair because it controls allergies AND asthma.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I also use Symbicort and was using my inhaler quite a bit...every night and 1-3 times during the day. I started taking Singulair a month ago and I don't use my inhaler nearly as much anymore. I've used it 3 times at night in the past month (2 of the times I forgot to take Singulair) and a few random times during the day/evening. Just a thought if you don't already take it and you have allergy issues. Take care.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
1236313 tn?1295726268 t take it for more than 3 days either!) My family doctor had put me on the Z-pack and Biaxin and it works for a SHORT period of time, if at all, and then I go back to the congestion. I have had a CAT scan that shows some inflammation, but does show that I am draining. Anyone have any suggestions. My family doc doesn't really want to treat me anymore because it is "chronic" so I need to make an appt. with an ENT. I feel like I am at a dead end!
Avatar m tn t well controlled, the sinuses seem to get easily infected. I also take antihistamines and Singulair to help with this along with nasal sprays (Astelin and Flonase) I also agree that if the course of antibiotics isn't long enough, the infection just keeps roaring back so make sure that the course is at least 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn I take allegra, advair, flonase and singulair daily. In recent months I have started getting dry chunks of weird stuff coming from the base of my sinuses, I think. It usually happens when I clear my throat or brush my teeth. It is semi soft, grainy when squished, yellow and about the size of a large pea or even larger. Should I be concerned? I work at an envelope manufacturing plant with lots of paper dust. I have for 17 yrs. Could it be paper dust? If so, why now? I am 35 yrs old and female.
Avatar m tn I used flonase for a week and got better with my cough and then I stopped. Afterwards my cough came back and I saw a doctor and he told me do not use flonase which makes me cough. I am confused?
Avatar n tn m really fustrated and confused, he is on Flovent twice a day, flonase twice a day, albuterol as needed and steroids when his croup is bad which is likely 3-4 times a year. I've recently read an article on reflux and how it relates to croup I now am going to see a specialist in that field and hope I can have some anwsers!!! Hospital visits are too common in my home and I want to know WHY!!!! Good Luck and I will let you know how it goes!
Avatar m tn He also prescribed singulair, prednisone(10 mg for 7 days), flonase, antibiotic, and some cough syrup and mucinex. The prednisone helped with the pain but didnt make it completely go away. So Im not sure what my next step should be. This has been going on for a several months now and doesnt seem to be getting any better.
Avatar f tn We found a local allergist to treat his allergies- he has my husband taking zyrtec and singulair and my husband uses flonase and carries albutarol for his diagnosed asthma. Since those visits to the ER 7 years ago my husband has had subsequent problems. His food allergies have become much worse. He has a very short list of foods that do not cause offense to his system, and he has suffered with a severe attack of Ulcerative Collitis and now sees a Gastroenterologist, who has him on Asacol.
