singulair

Avatar n tn She initially did chemo and steroids to get everything under control, and while she is usually fine, she does deal with a lot of fatigue. She started having noticeable cardiac issues (flutters, racing, chest pain) over the summer, which eventually resulted in a Holter monitor. She had her f/u with her cardiologist yesterday and was diagnosed with PVCs. She was put on Metoprolol, and told to go to the ED if she had an episode that lasted more than 30 seconds.
Avatar n tn After about 4 weeks, these symptoms disappeared and did not reappear until a year later (6 months postpartum). In addition to a great deal of shortness of breath and fatigue, I also began to experience significant heart palpitations, extreme lightheadedness and near fainting spells. On one occasion, I went to the ER and 1 1/2 hours after I was laying on the floor, my heart rate on the EKG was only 40 bpm.
Avatar m tn he began to have a facial tic, dilated pupils and hallucinations. i finally got the message and discontinued the singulair after researching the drug on the internet. after 3 weeks, he was like a different child. he was happier and healthier. his fears, anxiety and all the other side effects just disappeared. this drug can have devastating effects and be undetected by parents. children are unable to express the way the drug is making them feel.
920032 tn?1550680156 All those do is dry up the mucous and drainage - post nasal drip. I use it and love it. Singulair is a leukotriine modifier. That is one of the many chemicals involved in allergic reactions. As far as which is better, that would be hard to say. They have totally different purposes. Some people say that Singulair has little effect, while I won't miss a dose without having an attack.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I also use Symbicort and was using my inhaler quite a bit...every night and 1-3 times during the day. I started taking Singulair a month ago and I don't use my inhaler nearly as much anymore. I've used it 3 times at night in the past month (2 of the times I forgot to take Singulair) and a few random times during the day/evening. Just a thought if you don't already take it and you have allergy issues. Take care.
Avatar f tn I posted this in the vitamin forum but thought I should also post it here My Vitamin d has been low 23. I have been taking vitamin d for 6 months. I went back to dr and it has stayed the same so he put me on Vit D2 50,000 iu once a week. Also I have had a lot of health issues for the last year and my doctor as a shot in the dark suggested Singulair even though I have no allergy or asthma symptoms. I took both of them. That evening my bones and muscles started to hurt.

Avatar f tn He was prescribed neurotin by his neurologist and my immunlogist told me to get him off of the singulair before we gave him the neruotin. He said that the side effect was kind of rare, but possible. Of course we took him off of the singulair, but it hasn't taken the pins and needles away. I hope that he will have some relief at some point. We are planning of giving him the neruontin before the beginning of the school year to take away some of the discomfort. How are you doing now?

Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar n tn and allergic to cats, dust, mold and pollen, . In the summer of 2008 he was on daily doses of Singulair, Claritin, Qvar, and Rhinocort. Avatar f tn My 2 year old son acquired severe RSV at 6 weeks old. Ever since then he now has virally induced asthma. So he's been hospitalized a few times with bronchiolitis when he was 1 years old. The typical treatment has been 2ce a day pulmicort and 3xs a day to every 4 hours of albuterol. If that didn't work they would add predisone and sometimes zithromax. And those combos knocked it out. Well he now has 3 weeks of a rattling cough that just doesn't go away.
Avatar f tn Also I have had a lot of health issues for the last year and my doctor as a shot in the dark suggested Singulair even though I have no allergy or asthma symptoms. I took both of them. That evening my bones and muscles started to hurt. The next day my muscles all tightened up and I felt horrible, dry mouth, sore throat, felt like I was stoned, itching. I got off the singulair and haven't been on it for 4 days. I still am having muscular pain and bone pain.
370736 tn?1247242917 I have asthma and use inhaler (long acting and short acting) and Singulair. My pulmonary doc and OB said they're fine to use in pregnancy. I have been using my inhaler a lot more during pregnancy and I'm pretty sure it's because we are now breathing for 2 and our blood flow (which carries oxygen) is going for 2.
Avatar m tn Additional meds have been added to treat this, Pred Forte and Prednisone taper (uveitis), Prilosec and various other pump blockers (gastritis), 20days amoxicillin (strep) 10 weeks on amoxicillin (bronchitis), singulair and dulera for asthma. 1398713 tn?1282046685 Three days after taking Singulair, I developed a fever, sore throat, system wide swollen lymph nodes, sore and aching joints, night sweats and extreme fatigue. I stopped taking them and called the allergist and she said it was a virus and to go back on the Singulair in two weeks (just in case). All symptoms disappeared almost immediately (completely within 2 days).
Avatar n tn Hello Drs I was involved in an exposure (Insertive Oral) unprotected and (insertive Anal) protected until the condom broke in the end....didnt realize that I was exposed to a lot of fecal matter until the end. My partner says that he is negative and I even has the test results to prove it. But I dont trust him and I worry about the "window Period" I was tested at 70 days/ 10 weeks via the Trinity Biotech and it was negative.
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
Avatar m tn I was wonder how Singular works and if it will help me with itchy allergies and a nose that is always stuffy?
