Singulair and cough medicine

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair and cough medicine

singulair

Avatar m tn However for the past few nights, I have been wheezing and coughing in bed at night to the point it disrupts my sleep, leaving me dragging the next day. During the day I do not wheeze and cough, just laying down at night in bed. Should I go see my doctor, or is this something due to change in weather (it has become noticably cooler in this area the past couple days), or something the medication will correct in time? Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn The past few months of sicknesses has been the worst. He was on prednisone 3 more times and still while on Singulair. Now he is on Flovent and Singulair hoping to keep his wheezing under control. But he remains with this wet cough. It's from the asthma. Has your son ever had wheezing? The Singulair is pretty safe although it can have sleeping side effects. We have to give to him at night right b-4 bed or it keeps him up. It has helped, but just not enough.
Avatar n tn The doctors are right in diagnosing and treating her as bronchial asthma with steroids ,bronchodilators and singulair(montelukast). It usually takes some time for the cough to settle down.Pls make sure that you adequately reassure your daughter as it may take some time for the cough to go.The pain in the neck and upper body is probably because of strain/injury to the muscles because of repeated coughing. It will go away only with cough.
Avatar f tn albuterol (the emergency inhaler), Singulair (I take 10mg once every night), and one puff twice a day of Dulera with a chamber (I always rinse afterwards). It seems like a lot of meds. I’ve been on Singulair and albuterol for a few weeks, and I’ve been taking Dulera for about a week now. I guess I’m just worried that those meds shouldn’t be taken as much as I’m taking them/together in the first place.
212161 tn?1599427282 its been going on 6 weeks and am still coughing and wheezing, i have a inhaler but dont use because i have papations and fast heart rate now and scared it will make worse. i still have a running nose does that come with asthma, i do feel like short of breath when i cought alot , and i have been doing that now non-stop for 6 weeks. so can you get asthma at my age and will it ever go away or am i going to have it rest of life.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
Avatar f tn I have always had difficulty breathing in high humidity. My doctor told me that I am most likely allergic to mold, and the humidity is causing this to be worse. I have been prescribed an albuterol inhaler, and usually only have to use it about 3 weeks out of the year. Otherwise, I take Singulair year round. This year the humidity is especially high. I have had trouble breathing for over a month now.
920032 tn?1550680156 All those do is dry up the mucous and drainage - post nasal drip. I use it and love it. Singulair is a leukotriine modifier. That is one of the many chemicals involved in allergic reactions. As far as which is better, that would be hard to say. They have totally different purposes. Some people say that Singulair has little effect, while I won't miss a dose without having an attack.
Avatar f tn t have an appointmet with my doctor for two weeks. I had been taking singulair and zyrtec but I stopped until I can clear it with my doctor. Are these medicines safe and if not is there a safe one out there?
Avatar f tn Hello, my husband is 45 and in over all good physical and mental health. He developed a cough that won't go away. He feels a tickle in the back of his throat and he has to cough. He coughs constantly. The only time he has relief is when he sleeps at night. He was told he has mild GERD and has tried about 4 acid reflux medicines that don't stop the cough, and he doesn't have any heartburn.. However, his vocal chords are a little inflamed.
Avatar n tn Her Pulmonary dr. put her on Singulair for a month and gave her an inhaler for emergencies. The Singulair has given her a stomach ache, nausea, for over 2 weeks now. We are waiting on a visit to a different Pulmonologist, as requested by the pediatrician. It doesn't sound like allergies or asthma that I have heard other people describe. Her pediatrician said it could be sinus drip or reflux, yet again she has no other symptoms. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Christy, my 5 year old son is having the same problem. He has always had problems with bronchitis and coughs but it just isn't going away this time. He started a non stop cough about two weeks ago. It kept him up all night one night (and I heard some wheezing) so I took him to his pediatrician the next day. He did a chest X-ray and said that he saw some bronchitis. He had put my son on singulair about a month before this and it wasn't helping that much.
Avatar f tn I have the same problem, pain in the lower chest it seems. I take symbicort and singulair. Does anyone know if this Zithromycin treatment works?
486038 tn?1300063367 PCP basically throwing anything at the cough... I hope this mix added to what I'm already taking won't throw me for a loop. He couldn't listen to my lungs because evertime I breathe in I cough, so he is trying all this, and then will have me back in Monday. My BP is high, most likely due to the cough. Oh, and my magnesium levels are still low, and he wasn't too happy about that either, so I'm still having to take more magnesium.
Avatar f tn is there another medicine similar to singulair that doesn't have the bad side effects
Avatar n tn I am wondering if anyone else has had these same symptoms before. First, a little background on me. I've had asthma for about 7 years. Mine gets worse when I get sick (i'll get a cough/wheezing) or when I exercise (cough/noticeable burning sensation in my back, chest). As for medications, I've been prescribed Singulair for several months, although the last month I've really taken it inconsistently, and probably only 3 or 4 times in the past 2 or 3 weeks.

Avatar f tn FIRST THIS IS A QUESTION AND MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE NEW DULERA ASTHMA INHALER, WELL I WAS GIVEN DULERA ALMOST 2 MONTHS AGO, TO CONTROL MY ASTHMA, I WAS ONLY ON A RESCUE INHALER AND DR SAID IT WOULD KEEP ME FROM USING IT SO MUCH, AND IT WORKED VERY WELL ONLY THING I NOTICED A DRY HACKING COUGH THAT WOULDN'T GO AWAY, I TRED COUGH SYRUPS, GARGLED WITH WARM SALT WATER, SUCKED ON HALLS AND HARD CANDY, STILL NO HELP, ALWAYS HAD TO CLEAR MY THROAT, I MEAN LIKE EVERY 3 MINUTES, LIKE SOMETHING WAS ST
Avatar f tn So my lovely husband and son got me sick is it safe to take cough drops my throat is the only thing really killing me...I lost the paper my midwife gave me about safe medicines....
Avatar n tn The doctors increased his flovent from 44 mcg 2 puffs twice a day, to 110 mcg 2 puffs twice a day, proventil 2 puffs as needed (doing this often these days), nasonex 1 squirt each nostril once a day, singulair 4mg cheable once a day, zyrtec cough medicine as needed. He has been completely allergy tested blood, and skin tests he only has a mild egg white allergy (doctors aren't concerned), he's had his adenoids removed, and ear tubes put in. No reflux is suspected.
Avatar m tn While cough can be a symptom of asthma, your description of your illness really does suggest that GERD is the common factor for both your asthma and directly for your cough. The response of your cough to Prevacid® (lansoprazole) provides support for your interpretation of cause and effect, but as you imply, you cannot be expected to take Prevacid® (lansoprazole) or similar medicines all your life.
Avatar n tn im having flu like symptoms ( sore throat , bit of a cough ) what medicine is best recommended for pregnant woman while pregnant with symptoms of the flu ?
Avatar f tn Urgent care doc gave me a trial of Singulair (10 mcg for 3-month) and started feel less cough, chest tight (now use 2-4 puffs per month) and tickle, but still feel a bit congested. In Aug, my PCP referred me to ENT and suggested to add Astelin for treating me persistent rhinitis. I did an allergy blood test for 13 kinds of environmental allergen but it’s negative. I did ask my PCP if I am having asthma. She said it’s only an allergy.
Avatar n tn I took Vicks nyquil cold and flu gel caps..with no alcohol in it. Helped a lot. I'm also 16 weeks.
