janumet

Avatar n tn My father has had RLS for years and taking Sinemet to control it. Lately he has been acting differently almost like he has no control over his arms, mouth and legs. Can taking Sinemet for a long period of time cause Parkinson or similar disorders?
Avatar n tn 5-6 years ago, she started parkinson treatment as 3 per day 25/100 sinemet. Half year ago, her motion slows down, drooling a lot. Sinemet was increased to 3 per day 25/250. it really helped at first. 2 months later, dyskinesia occurred in tongue/jaw, drooling returned. Sinemet dosage then was decreased to 2 per day 25/250 (9am, 2pm), Requip 0.125 (9pm). Dyskinesia improved. 1.5 month ago, teeth grinding started day and night.
Avatar m tn I started taking Sinemet about 3 months ago and my blood sugar levels, insulin resistance are all over the map. In the morning I fight to get my BSs down and now, in the afternoon, I often have BS crashes into severe hypo territory. I've been to the emergency twice these past two weeks - a week ago Friday with hyper, ketones and this last Friday with a severe hypo with 5 units still active!!!
Avatar f tn I hated that because it worked so well, but side effects were intolerable. This as of April 28th. Was started on Sinemet. Was told this does not work as well as Requip, but was less likely to have same side effects. Said he could add darvocet if necesary. Also take ativan 1mg 3 x daily since the brain surgery, and 1-2 at night for help with sleep. Every other sleep aid made above symptoms worse. Did tapered Requip withdrawal while adding the sinemet.

Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed Sinemet (generic name: carbadopa/levo) 25/100mg each night, and I no longer have restless legs. I've been taking it for about 4 years now, and as far as I know, I don't have any negative side effects from it. (I know you said you prefer to balance yourself without pharmaceuticals, but if you don't find a way to do that, the Sinemet really works for me.) Sleep is SO important.
Avatar f tn I too have been on both of these meds and have had similar issues. Have you been on Sinemet yet? Requip and Mirapex are dopamine agonists, but Sinemet is a dopamine replacement and is best reserved for when the agonists no longer work. SinemetCR worked for me for a few years before the side effects outweighed the decreasing benefits. It's more complicated to optimize it's effectiveness, as one is best served to consider the timing, volume and content of their meals.
2030686 tn?1351688548 Does anybody know what the early classifications were before hep c? He was born in 1966 and contracted hep b as a child. Is it possible that he had hep c and they just didn't know about it yet? I assume I got the hep c either from him or other people we "partied with". I never used needles but he had so I just assume he had hep c as well. I just don't understand how I could have one and not the other.

Avatar n tn PT2.PNO (I-).PMX. We do not understand this classification. Also there was no other tumors anywhere else. A PET and a CAT scan was done and the one tumor was it. There is a disagreement as to whether radiation and chemo should be done. We do not see the point since everything else was fine. Could you help us understand the situation better. Both the surgeon and oncologist says they have never seen this type before due to its rarity. Thank you for shedding any light on this for us.
Avatar n tn AIDS definition is when ones CD4 drops down to 200 or less or one has a low CD4 but also has an O.I. Once you are in the AIDS classification it no longer matters how high you CD4 level gets, your classification will stay as having AIDS. If you don't care for the term AIDS, you can use Advance HIV Disease it means the same.
1516809 tn?1345082764 Within the last month, because of his rigidity and recently developed habit of picking and scratching his skin, his Neurologist changed his meds. Upped his Sinemet ER from 25/100 to 50/200 to help him with his morning stiffness, and had him titrate Lamictal XR to 50 Mg daily for the skin. This past Monday, as we left the house, he suddenly complained that he could no longer walk and move his legs. As a result, I called the Ambulance to take him to the Emergency Room.
