zocor

Avatar f tn I called my doctor and the nurse said i had the symptoms of axiety but also said to stop taking the Lisinopril. I have not taken that pill in 24 hrs. My question is could the Lisinopril have caused the palpitations and could it take some time to go away or should i look into axiety. It just seems odd that none of this was going on untill i took that Lisinopril.
1210142 tn?1266077031 After my bare metal stents were clogged and I almost got another heart attack, a DES was placed inside those two. Since then I have been having chest pains. I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up. Then my PCP substitute it for Losartan- have been taking this drug/25 mg/ for a week and feel extremely dizzy and nauseated.
Avatar m tn Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!
961503 tn?1247059639 My doctor wanted me to not start them both at the same time so that I can see, if any, side effects Sim will have - and once I start the Lisinopril, I can see what different, if any, side effects both pills could have. So far, with the Sim I have felt a little heat rushes - perhaps 3 times, but nothing else. My question is: can I exercise while on these pills? Before the pills, I biked weekly about 3 miles - nothing serious, just riding around my town.
1210142 tn?1266077031 As for the losartan and carvedilol, dizziness and fatigue are two common side effects of the medications. These side effects are often related to either low blood pressures or low heart rate but can often be relieved through adjustments in the dose and timing of the medications. I would check and keep note of your blood pressure and heart rate frequently (and not if you are having any of the symptoms) using a home blood pressure monitoring kit that you can get at your local pharmacy.
Avatar m tn I would like to know if these are side effects of the meds or if it is possible i have some disease that affects my joints/disks as well as raises my BP?
Avatar f tn Typically Simvastatin is prescribed at 40mg but can be prescribed as high as 80mg daily but that will increase the risk of side effects. I would communicate new side effects with your doctor but try to push past the first few weeks, side effects should go away but be careful to report new issues.
Avatar f tn I take Simvastatin with no side effects, and have for several years, and so does my husband, also no problems. It's done an excellent job of lowering both our cholesterols.
428155 tn?1203688894 Take the simvastatin, but watch the side effects over the next months. They can be of various natures, and not always obvious (like my fibrillation). itdood, you wrote "no side effects. Tho at times I thought my muscles were getting sore." - The heart is a muscle. Keep that in mind. Madge270, diet is definitely the way to start.
907968 tn?1292622204 I just got a refill of my Carvedilol (3.125mg) I take two pills in the morning and two in the evening and it has been this way since August '09. I read the side effects just out of curiosity and I had nothing better to do and what I found was, "Check with your Dr. as soon as possible If you experience cold or numb legs or feet or unusual leg pain". And it goes on to say "Contact your Dr. immediately if you experience....(lists what seems like 10,000 things)...
Avatar n tn Actually, Lipitor is much stronger than Simvastatin and has a much higher incidence of side effects, unless I have missed some new data. According to the links I have Simvastatin is the safest statin on the market.
Avatar m tn however, it is worth it if you have side effects. My side effects range from crawly skin to coughs to aching muscles. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Unless you have experienced the full brunt of side effects from statins, you can not state "just stick it out". The side effects are unbearable. I finally asked my doctor if it was really healthier that i went from someone who worked out at the gym 5 days a week to someone gobbling pain medicine and laying on the couch. I had no life on the meds and so, I opted to take the risk.
Avatar f tn Your doctor may be increasing based on the blood pressure response and consideration to side effects of lisinopril, the dosage may be increased or decreased. For most people, the normal daily dose is 20 mg to 40 mg. For each change in your lisinopril dosage, it may take several weeks to see the full effects on blood pressure. Hope this helps and your blood pressure is properly controlled without side effects. Thanks for the question.
Avatar f tn t had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects. I am just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on Lisinopril vs Losartan to help me decide if I should change meds. Thanks!!!

Avatar m tn I am a 62 year-old male who has been taking simvastatin for about 30 years. All of my cholesterol-related numbers are in a healthy range, and I have never experienced any serious side effects (e.g., muscle weakness, kidney and liver impairment, etc.). I have, however, had trouble sleeping for the past several years (perhaps caused by simvastatin, perhaps not). More importantly, I have been experiencing back pain for the past few months and would like to try CBD.
Avatar n tn Following week contacted cardiologist as a precaution. He suggested to take Carvidilol 6.25my/Lisinopril 5mg/Simvastatin 25mg/Aspirin81mg. This is when all the trouble started with lightheadedness, chest pain, shortness of breath and I became more sick than I was before taking these medications. When I complained, he changed to Bystolic 5mg. This made it worse by lowing down the heart beat to 43.
Avatar f tn Look the drug up that she is taking on the web to see if cough is listed as a common side effect. Before you do this though, don't get overly concerned with all of the side effects you see related to a drug when you do search. All possible side effects observed when trials are done on drugs are listed even if they are not caused by the drug. Some blood pressure drugs do cause cough though in many people. The drug with the most likely side effect of cough as I understand it is lisinopril.
Avatar f tn The study found that the patients on simvastatin achieved the target LDL level of less than 130, more than those on pravastatin (65 percent on simvastatin versus 35 percent on pravastatin). The most common side effects of the statins in general are nausea, gas, and upset stomach. Less common are headache, dizziness, rash, sleep disturbances, muscle pain, cramps, or weakness.
