Avatar f tn In Type 1 diabetes the signs and symptoms are usually very obvious and develop very quickly, typically over a few weeks. The symptoms are quickly relieved once the diabetes is treated and under control. In Type 2 diabetes the signs and symptoms may not be so obvious, as the condition develops slowly over a period of years and may only be picked up in a routine medical check up. Symptoms are quickly relieved once diabetes is treated and under control.

Avatar f tn s just frequent urination and fatigue, but those are also normal pregnancy signs. They test you at 27/28 weeks for it. But if you think that you might have it after your test I'm sure that you can ask your doctor to retest you.
Avatar n tn I have adopted a two year old son. He is a little short for his age but he is stalky. When we first got him about 6 months ago he would eat anything and everything you put in front of him. Now he has gotten to where he will hardly eat anything but he drinks constantly. It doesn't matter what you give him to drink he will drink all of it and instantly want more. When he is drinking he drink he doesn't just drink it he downs almost the entire drink before sitting it down.

Avatar f tn m 33 weeks and have gestational diabetes...frequent urinating is a sign of diabetes and pregnancy... I'm on a low dosage of meds that i take before bed. My sugar levels are now under control because of the meds, exercise, and diet. I've even dropped a few pounds... I have family history of diabetes but, i didn't have it before pregnancy...
Avatar n tn I have a 3 year old. Lately she has been showing signs of diabetes. I took her to the doctor and she tested 180, but she had not ate in over 3 hours. That was about 2 months ago. She is still showing signs, frequent urination (and in a large amount), starved to death, cant get enough to drink, not gaining weight, and just really cranky and fussy. I was at my grandma's house earlier today and she tested my child's blood. It had been over 3 hours since she ate and her sugar was 213.

My boyfriend has ejaculated in me plenty of times before ,but at the end of the month i get my monthly visit..I've never had these symptoms though. Avatar f tn I know i need to take a home test but wanted to know if these are early signs of pregnancy or is this my body bouncing back from the BC? also i forgot to mention that while on reclipsen i had two "periods" which consisted of no more than two days of barely spotting (not enough to wear a pad or tampon). Since ive been off of reclipsen now for two weeks when should i expect my period and what are these spasms??? im just trying to figure out whats going on with my body!!
Avatar f tn In many instances, diabetes (especially in its early stages) has no signs at all. When blood sugar levels are very high, it may cause frequent urination, excessive thirst, slow-healing wounds, reduced energy, and changes in vision. Best to see your physician and ask for labwork to see if you truly have diabetes or its precursor, called prediabetes.
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms and signs? How early does it show in your pregnancy? I've looked up in prenatal books and sites and all the answers vary. I'm just wondering from someone who has actually had it, what your experience was.
Avatar n tn I would get an A1C test done which checks your sugar level average for the last three months. One of the signs of pre-diabetes (which i also have) and diabetes is frequent urination which you have if you are going every 2 hours or so. The body is trying to get rid of excess sugar in the body. See a doctor about this.
Avatar n tn Hey everyone! So I called my doctor and talked to him about my symptoms possibly being diabetes. He really doesn't think that diabetes is the case because of the lack of frequent urination. He said that I would be having to get up in the middle of the night at least once to either drink or go to the bathroom, which I don't. I believe that he was talking strictly Type 1, because I guess I am too young for Type 2?
Avatar n tn After i delivered all signs of the diabetes went away, but it does mean i am at greater risk to develop diabetes later in life, same with my child. Luckily since we controlled it so well he was a normal size which is one of the many complicatins that could arise They also said that I may or may not get gestational diabetes with my next pregnancy as every pregnancy is different...
